    What Sam Vaknin is doing is creating the M-theory of psychology; uniting many concepts into one ultimate model. It's actually very beautiful.

    I read two book about being Schizoid and it felt like it was a perfect description of what I used to be at that time. I felt a very strong will to lose touch with reality and collapse within myself, but never to the point where I was on the verge of having a psychotic breakdown.
    I healed myself through self analysis and psychotherapy and I am no longer a schizoid anymore.

    Thanks for having the humor in with your videos, pretty sure that listening to your videos has saved my self, it's been very traumatic to come to understand what's happened to me over the last 20 years and the healing hurts, so thanks very much for the added humor.

    It's nice to see you so chipper! I've never seen you laugh so much.
    As a person healing from borderline personality disorder and diagnosed with bipolar 2, I can see how they saw schizophrenic traits. I have had a manic episode after a traumatic event that, looking back, presented to people around me like psychosis, but I was very aware of what was happening. Very interesting topic, thank you.

    8:24 "or listening to Sam Vaknin, of course"
    Funny; I, no joke, had a psychotic episode after watching your videos almost religiously for a few months while running my own internal experiments back in late 2015.
    Even funnier: I recently watched a video where you said you were working on a theory that the "self" doesn't exist; I came to the same conclusion in my psychosis. Bizarre.

    Hey, Sam, I’m a big fan of you, your work and your frequent and most eloquent use of ten dollar words, many of which I’ve enjoyed looking it up! That is at least, whenever you make use of a new one that I don’t know the meaning of.😜 Which, these days I actually can’t say has been all that often anymore, so I think it could be time to, step it up, Sam!😁 -But, I dare say that, over the last 3-4 years that I’ve actually consumed the better part of at least 3/4 of all of your work and 😅videos. I’m actually not a boarder line or a narcissist though myself, I’m just a bit of a nerd🤓 and a lover of all things psychology/ human behavior that also happened to have spent a decade married to a narcissist & psychopath as well, that was also an astrophysicist with a pretty high IQ, not quite as high as I yours😅at 190, but his is 150.
    But anyway,🤪 all that being said, so what really instigated me to comment now was actually in regards to what you were saying in the beginning of the video when you made reference to the Q/Kabbalah and the books you recently bought; since it just so happens that I just recently started really delving into the Quabbalah and I’ve been absolutely fascinated by and really just obsessed with, to say the least,😅 learning absolutely everything I can about the magical 😯 nature of the Hebrew language. I’ve read the Sefar Yetzirah now a few times, and I find myself listening to rabbis/ videos posted by them here YT now all day long.😝 I was definitely aware of the fact that you were Jewish, but I guess that maybe just because you really don’t say all that much about it-I just wasn’t sure how much you might still be involved with it now/ these days as an adult and or to the extent of which you participated in the Q/Kabbalistic aspects of Judaism if at all.
    But anyway, if you ever have the time, I’d kill to pick your brain on these and many other topics including but not limited to the nature of the universe and the Quabbalah some/ anytime, since you’re definitely one of the smartest men I know.😁🙏🏼🫶🏼
    -I hope this finds you well, Sam.😊

    • @samvaknin
      @samvaknin  Год назад +5

      If the person has BPD and is misdiagnosed with a psychotic disorder, s/he should receive anti-pyschotic medication only RARELY in order to ameliorate symptoms such as hallucinations.

    But of course borderlines and narcissists would identify as victims, their disorders are traumatic stress reactions

  • @lucid6891
    @lucid6891 10 месяцев назад +1

    Where you would say dissociative identities fit into this? Because you've described the connections between my NPD and schizophrenia remarkably well, which I have been confused about for years as I couldn't understand how they worked together, however I've had episodes of quite extreme dissociation involving separate identities taking control over my faculties, the worst of which was almost like a revolving door of different personalities switching between one another... my interpretation of which has swung from believing they were demonic or spirit possession, to various aspects of my mind having split as a coping method into defined identities holding separate traumas, to psychotic episodes presenting as different personas. I hear voices alongside them; once in hospital I could hear them very clearly having conversations with one another as external voices, but refusing to speak to me, except for one girl who spoke to me a lot and told me the others didn't want to ever interact with me directly because they were angry with certain life choices I'd made. But these episodes of dissociation with alter identities aren't constant; they emerge at various points, especially when under stress. When my body is taken over I'm not able to control what they say or do and often have periods of amnesia. How do these fit in to your theories?
