Given the number of obstacles in the boss arena that don't block his lightning, but do block you from moving through them, I'm fine with greeting that cheese with a little counter-cheese of my own

It works respectably, thx. Here I was fighting it in the open field on my initial battle like a green and dumb rookie! I wish I knew the tip but then would not have been as satisfying beating it first on my own. But I got 60 prestige points using this nice porch strategy on my second battle, internet tips allowed, of course!

Onryoki drove me crazy , I stuck on Hino - Enma for a very long time too . I already died countless of times on those two bosses until I finally beat them . Now I am here on Nué and already died like 10 times as well without even having a serious chance ( the first time I made the mistake of first looking around when I entered the boss arena before approaching the mist - so he appeared when I was behind him -I just heared the boss fight music and instantly got struck by 3 lightnings in a row , dying in about 3 to 5 seconds without even seeing him lol . The next tries weren ' t much better - I managed to give him a little damage but as soon as he started those lightning strikes I was finished almost immediately . ) Now with seeing this video I think I have a good strategy . Most of the games I played even the game ' s final bosses were way easier then these 3 first bosses in Nioh . I really wonder if the bosses are getting easier from here on after Nué but I highly doubt it .
This is the way, except you can step back out of the pagoda and bait him into using the 4X lightning strikes, and you hit its heart for a critical and smash away.

For me was he easier than Onryoki or Hino Enma. Without seeing aby video just still running around him keep distance and after his lightning attack run to him gave him one or two hits with spear mid stance and then fast dodge back to safe distance. It took me longer tíme(10 min) but i killed him without bigger problems, just need to be patient and attack only when you feel it is safe
i used the entrance as cover for the lightning attacks and whenever he did his breath attack i would break his ki with a spear to the belly, then wail for massive damage. i dont think he ever did his poison to me cuz i would constantly have his ki lowered with lifesteal talasmans and be hyper aggressive
If ur around lv40 with a good weapon around 200 atk and spirit around 13 u can kill it in one go of living weapon, u need to keep it costantly stunned tho hitting its soft spot. Didnt realize i could have dealt that much of damage before trying lol
just got the game for free on epic and idk if this guy is bugged on epic or what but I couldnt stagger him at all even when I hit his orange belly part with high/med stance strong attacks, such a weird, hard fight
without the cheese methid I would say this is harder based on how much yokai realm it puts down. I have the talismans to purge it and obvs can ki pulse, but a lot of the time doing a ki pulse only to clear yokai realm is highly counter productive and leaves you wide open. I like to use the talismans to auto clear as much as I can.
Wouldn't call him "easy." Yes, I'd say it took me fewer tries to kill him than the flying witch. And I didn't use this (admittedly pretty great) cheese method. But this boss is no joke.

Okay, I used this method and won first try but ngl, I kinda felt like breaking the gamr and cheating. Plus, I had some sort of total immunity to poison cause it gave me 0 dmg
His attack patterns aren't that hard to predict but it is his sudden electric attacks that keeps killing me. The belly is his weak point.

i just run up to him with my dual sword ang slasg him like crazy and throw every bomb i have including the salt. t’was fun indeed
how did you get the nue mask? dude i fought him the first time and never got the mask. I went back the second time but i kept dying.
My strategy was to get kinda close to him and wait until he attack with lightning beam from his mouth and roll over to his side.

try using low stance it mostly matters with the amount of attacks not the damage for staggering

The thing I don't like about this game is that boss and yoki stamina bars don't mean anything.
Once the bar run out something does happen in this boss case I think he loses his lightning powers for a bit
he gets stunlocked by a short period of time
