1989.. Patrick Swayze as Dalton was impressive.The throat ripper. And he doesn't over do it. Just a 2nd throat rip that matters. Not throwing punches all day all night. Julia Lynch was gorgeous.. And ohh boy Denise Michaels.. Wasn't she full and something. They kept it simple like a small town rivalry but a bloody one. Not like all going on in the world is a road house rivalry, as if its an international event. I know I would miss all that in this version or Roadhouse.

it's just a lazy remake. Yeah, it'll have big nasty fights, but it won't have nearly the coolness that Swayze and Jeff Healy gave the original. I'll probably watch it in stages, since it will most likely bore me too much to watch in one sitting.

Director Doug Liman made the first Jason Bourne movie & Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise, the guy knows what he´s doing. Plus, Gyllenhaal is a really talented actor who brings it in every movie.

After all this Superhero stuff for what feels like 100 years, this feels like such a breath of fresh air. I miss tough guy movies that are somewhere in the middle of goofy and full intensity.

Yeah, but we have to pay $3 per month to see without ads. Makes me wonder where in the middle of these fights are the ads going to be inserted. Very slippery slope they have started. Before 1978, ads in 30- and 60-minute shows during the regular 8pm to 11pm hours totaled 5 minutes and 10 minutes, respectively. Then the deregulation came in and pretty soon the broadcasters started saying, hey it's only another 15 seconds (or 30 or whatever) and we ended up at 10 and 20 minutes. Of course the streamers, et al are also doing it, though I don't watch the ones with ads so I don't know how much say, hulu, stuffs down viewers' throats. I think the new ad-filled stuff is now in effect with AP, so I have to see how good or bad the problem is.

Being able to pause to use the bathroom and being able to make your own food instead of spending $20 on theater popcorn is a no-brainer. Especially as home theaters get cheaper and cheaper. Not to mention the noise and other disruptions from other people.

Supposedly this movie was off the charts with test audiences and there was a big fight about It going to streaming.
Yeah, but we have to pay $3 per month to see without ads. Makes me wonder where in the middle of these fights are the ads going to be inserted. Very slippery slope they have started. Before 1978, ads in 30- and 60-minute shows during the regular 8pm to 11pm hours totaled 5 minutes and 10 minutes, respectively. Then the deregulation came in and pretty soon the broadcasters started saying, hey it's only another 15 seconds (or 30 or whatever) and we ended up at 10 and 20 minutes. Of course the streamers, et al are also doing it, though I don't watch the ones with ads so I don't know how much say, hulu, stuffs down viewers' throats. I think the new ad-filled stuff is now in effect with AP, so I have to see how good or bad the problem is.
