  • Note: This is the longer, slowed-down version (but with a few updates) of a similar, more sped-up video on this channel, found here: • Forest Backroads from ...
    Taking the forest backroads from Greenwater, WA to Easton, WA. Here we provide video of the entire trip for you to get an idea of what the roads are like, including where the roads are partially blocked or washed-out, and the way to still make it through using NF-70, NF-52, NF-41, and the little roads in between.
    The main idea here is to give you an end-to-end look at the entire route we took and an easy way to skip around to parts you're interested in taking a closer look at.

      Glad you like this version better. 😀 We wanted to give an idea of the entire route without missing sections, while also not creating a 5-hour video. So we think this speed is a good balance of that. 🙂

    Thanks for making this video. It's quite useful to see how the trails are.

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. There are so many backroads out there that you don't really know what to expect, so we hope to help give an idea to others.

      Awesome! Any problems fitting anywhere between trees or under fallen ones? Were you able to do the entire thing?

    Definitely like the music more. Another constructive criticism, consider mounting the camera at the top center of your windshield - it should help reduce or eliminate the reflection of the dash.

      We learned a new trick recently to suction cup a cloth around the camera to eliminate the reflections. We'll give that a shot for next time. 👍🏻

    Really like the inclusion of maps & Road labelling. I've done it before & have both Gaia & Relive tracks but it makes this a great video to show others what it's like. Also, I couldn't fit past the first washout & this is the clearest vid of what remains between there & Easton. Sent you a link with some vids of that section by Goat Offroad

      Thanks! We had a GPS track we wanted to add along with the video, but it wasn't calibrated correctly or something, so it was way off. 😒 Oh well.
      I haven't seen a link you mentioned sending.

    Any idea on when the gates are usually closed?

    • @northwestexplorers
      @northwestexplorers  7 месяцев назад

      There weren't any gates on the roads that we took, but a lot of gates to spur roads seemed to be closed, possibly year-round. I *think* that Tacoma Pass stays accessible, because of the Pacific Crest Trail there, at least I'm guessing in the Spring and Summer months. However, there's naturally this time of year when snow will start to be the real road blocker until it melts off in the Spring in a lot of places up there.
      Does that help?

    Any pin striping?

      Not on that trip. It was fairly open all the way through. Even in the less travelled areas.

      Some years that Green River Spur gets tight. In 2020 my skinny Pathfinder reached the point it was grinding both sides of my truck.
