I'm not sure, I too found an entrance to a cellar to this gaff back in the 1970's. Me and my mates found an entrance similar to this but it was back filled so could only get into about 12 ft. I'm guessing there are other ways in, but I reckon you found the best. We did loads of this stuff back then, we lived near Greenbank Park, there where loads of abandoned massive houses ripe to explore. We where good lads, never vandalised just explored, just wished I had a camera back then, some of those places where special.
Love the scouse accents… remember when I was a lad I was in Lewis with my dad and I saw the little book “Lern Yerself Scouse” … haha and when you mentioned the chairs I was thinking of a line in that book and phrase was “Wurz the churzz” .. TRANSLATION (in a posh voice) “where are the chairs” … haha such a funny book… another phrase “E dun a puddin in iz kecks” TRANSLATION “ He has deffacated in his trousers” haha
When we first moved to runcorn in 1970 there was a much smaller version of this in the small wood next to Norton priory school. I think it was the ice house for the mansion built on the site of the original priory. Thanks another great vid
i found the entrance to that 60 years ago, at the time i thought it maybe an old air raid shelter, i was never brave enough to go inside. seventy years ago i lived in Kildonan Rd.
No way all that time i walked the dog here i had no idea you lads are brilliant thanks for bringing this to my attention brilliant work as always lads keep up the good work
Up until i got the initial message i also had no idea mate Its always good to see never been seen before stuff although people have been down there before us its pretty much untouched Cheers for watching glad you liked it
Hi guys, just found this video. Just past the cafe is/was a cobbled road leading to the old coach house to the main house. It became derelict and the council? eventually pulled it down in the 80's. Also up the stone steps by the cafe was a couple lawn bowling greens or tennis courts which had a shelter build in it. Now abandoned. Going up towards the main road just under the railway bridge was a stairs leading to the house (old station) another commentator mentioned. Plus on that banking there was a couple tunnels you could get into. Whether or not they connected to the old mansion i dont know. At the time I wasn't that interested in local history as I am today. Your vid has given me new ideas. Cheers DougT (not in L/pool any more) Edit: the lake which was in front of the cafe (now no longer there) is the reason that field appears sunken and i understand it was fed by the overflow from Sefton Park lake via brick tunnels/culverts. Maybe thats why there is/was a sort of open running water course on the left of the railway bridge? Apologies if you've covered this in other posts.
Mad that mate isn't it.i think I seen that when I was last at Otterspool. Thanks for diving down there to show us all. I went to look at that house by the old Train Station but it's just someone's house now..The one with the old Taxi parked outside.
I was in that café in the summer, if only I had known this, thanks lads for yet another fantastic video, I don't know where you keep finding these amazing hidden gems in Liverpool, i thought i knew them all, i now know I know nothing! :)
Cheers simon glad you liked iits sad the cafe is left to rot i remember it well when it was open Its a nice little hidden gem this id like to take credit for but this was info i was given to me bit like most places i also have a long list of never seen places in liverpool to do its just getting the time to do them
@@g2emedia1977 Thanks for making these matey, I'm genuinely exited when you upload new stuff as I know I'm going to see someplace new i knew nothing about. :)
We used to go down there as kids back in the 1970s.The entrance was bigger and easier to get in back then (but then again I was a smallish boy)and there was less crap down there. I think there may have been away in from the cafe in those days as well.
Ahh cool by the looks of where we got in you can tell it used to be much bigger i wonder if there is access to the other part via the cafe Its mad these are still there even to this day
I remember a huge derelict house that wasn't demolished until 1970's. It was by the bus stop and car tyre place. It was a mystery to me, who once owned it and how it fell into such a sorry state. By the way, great name, my name is John Toohey and my family are from Liverpool 8.
Me and my mates went In them cellars under the cafe or restaurant in the early sixties we were about ten or twelve at the time we had to crawl in but we could stand up once we got about twelve feet in we turned right and we were in
the other side of the railway bridge from the cafe there is the opening to what looks like a railway tunnel coming out of the cliff wall, its on the left Heding towards the entrance or exit if you like. any idea what this used to be?
Hi just found your video me and my friends found this about 6 years ago and we went down and that same hammer was there!! Creeped us out there was also a black mask. As we kept exploring more we came across an old ilford camera! And all the tape strewn across the tunnel bit. I wanted to get it developed but it had already come into contact with the sunlight. I still have the camera as I wanted to reunite it with the owner all his details are on it but it’s from 1965!! And he was from Southampton😳
Would love a reply and for you to help me figure this mystery out. I’ve researched for so long and I’ve literally just found your video I’ve never seen anyone else talk about this
Wow thats a cool find that camera i would have tried to get the film developed at least to maybe see if anything was on it Mad them hammers have been there all this time Thanks for watching much appreciated
Both mate the pocket is an amazing camera especially for vlogging the face track is amazing The osmo action is also amazing and takes amazing stills Both cams 4k and 1080 @ 60fps
The rumour is the model railway that Stephenson used to test his rocket was stored in these cellars, it has never been seen since so it could still be down there
We acculy found two flint lock pistols and a candle holder on the shelf in there but the two flintlock pistols fell apart when we touched them. So we left them there lol
Where about is that located in Otterspool? Because there is also if you haven’t seen it a small burnt down house with empty windows an pigeons live in the roof of it it you can get too it if you walk up the steps near the bridge an their is a hole in the fence which you can get too it by .
@@g2emedia1977 yes it is that’s it , it’s worth a look it’s really creepy but quite dangerous the whole top floor is falling apart an everything Is burnt an crumbling but me an my mate still managed to climb on the floor an have a look around an found lots of old clothes an books definitely worth a look
I walked down the private road and happened upon 3 houses 🏡 back in 2008. I was walking my dog and it creeped the hell out of me. Amazing ...they should clean it up and open it for others to explore like the Williamson tunnels
Thanks for watching glad you liked it they look very similar to the williamson ones that they are currently digging out
Good work lads.
Cheers mate
Them hammers look suspicious, few gangs hang around the area. Brilliant footage G2E.
They looked fairly new to as in they were put there not long ago which i found odd

I’ve searched for 2 hours so far with my mate where about is this tunnel ?
As you approach the cafe along the road, it's on the left just past where the stone floor finishes.
I always wonder why no one has ever explored the abandoned house in reynolds park Woolton.
probably because its locked up

I think from when the cafe above was open they stored em dowm there
Somewhere down that part of the Mersey there is supposed to be a cable tunnel that goes across to the Wirral so there are 5 Mersey tunnels
