It's been more than thirty years since I first danced to this song, and I still love it. There's a bit of a divide between fans of The Cure, split into their "og" fanbase who are more into the bands' gothic aesthetics like Lullaby, A Forest etc., and then there's the pop Cure fans who love Friday, Just Like Heaven etc! Me personally, I'm one of those who love both, being able to appreciate more genres just means you get more music to enjoy :) And with your love of funkier songs/jazz/blues influence/BANGIN' basslines, I'm quite surprised nobody has thrown "The Lovecats" your way yet! If you'd be up for something that's kinda like the polar opposite of this song and still creative and interesting, that's the one for you, and I think it might be a favourite :D
