      I remember when Brittany Spears was popular and people were saying she was the next Madonna. I thought compared to Live To Tell, Crazy For You, Oh Father, & Take A Bow, Brittany would never come close. Madonna was pop, but she had some very emotional songs.

    • @en6278
      @en6278 Год назад +2

      @@JB-pl1iu she is a great pop singer. Im always struck by all the different tones & textures she has even just in her ballads. Like in Spanish eyes her voice gets really gritty & raw in the chorus. It always hits me. Theres different categories of singers. The big power vocalists like Celine. then the more personality pop vocalists like Madonna. She is a chameleon who can lend her voice to so many different kinds of production. Celine cannot do that.

    Until her album "Ray of Light" came along this was my all time Madonna song. "The Power of Goodbye" de-throned it. But it still remains up there with the best of them.

    "Justify My Love" or "Erotica"
    will REALLY surprise you. 🔥
    When she played Evita Peron in the '96 movie "Evita" check out her cover of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". These two songs are opposite ends of the Madonna spectrum.

    I’ve always been a fan of Madonna. I was a kid in the 80’s and had two sisters who listened to Madonna so I’ve always known and loved her songs.
    But only now that I’m in my 40’s do I truly appreciate the absolute genius in her music.

    This one is actually my favorite Madonna song and then "La Isla Bonita"... love all the others too. This is a really good movie At Close Range based on a true story. Sean Penn and Madonna were married during this time. GREAT acting, great song. Continue to RIP Christopher Penn - you went too soon.

    There is a reason she was such a superstar! Never fails to give me chills, and I was coming up in the '80s! So I've heard this song a lot. Great reaction, friend. She wrote the song and composed the music with her producer Patrick Leonard who helped with some of her best music.
