I'm so happy to see so many others have found this little video. Thanks to all those that get the obscure little connection of one of the greatest moments in video game history, with one of the greatest moments in animated sitcom history. I truly appreciate the support of my admittedly offbeat antics.

I saw that episode. I feel for Hank, and what he had endured. His ‘86 Ford Ranger gave him 20 years. The reason why Hank was crying for his truck, because it a nostalgia thing to him.
Additionally, Hank was sad because had good memories with that truck, like Cowboys winning the Super Bowl, the birth of his son, Bobby, and the start of his job at Strickland. He probably used his first few paychecks from Strickland to purchase his 1986 Ford Ranger.
All good things must come to an end. It’s hard to let go of the past, like in Hank’s case. With his new truck, Hank could create new memories.
From watching this episode of King of the Hill. I have an idea of what went wrong with his 1986 Ford Ranger.
From based on the main symptoms: intermittent crank, no start, overheating, and coolant in exhaust. Those symptoms point to a blown head gasket. The reason why truck died on the tracks, because the engine, hydrolocked. The episode also showed the truck backfiring, that because the engine was getting blow by past the rings

When I last watched the episode I remember thinking that the truck was a metaphor for hanks relationship with his father. If he just let the truck die and bought a new one, it would mean he had neglected and abused it the way his father neglected and abused him, to hank it would mean he’s a failure at raising his own son, no better than his old man

Had a 2002 Chevy Silverado single cab. Was my first truck ever. I put more money into it than it was worth. Ended up totaling the truck when someone pulled out in front of me and I got t-boned on my driver side. The moment I got home with the truck I broke down because it was apart of my life for 6 years. It was family to me.

My 1996 F-150's motor finally went out. Had the truck since high school it was a farm truck that my grandparents had used for a while then gave to me. Dad and I Fixed and cleaned it up and I used it for 12 years. Went through 3 dogs, 2 girlfriends, countless fishing and camping trips 2 wrecks where it didn't even cause damage to the truck itself. Ran perfect up until its last day. Just before I was gonna send it to a scrap yard (a new motor was too expensive at that point). Someone came up to me and ask if it was for sell because they wanted to completely restore one just like it and use it as a classic. So I sold it to give it another life and not decay in a junkyard. They don't make em like they use to. Anyways I kinda feel Hank's pain now lol.

For those that need context, the song is Daniel Lanois' "That's the Way it is". In the game, Red Dead Redemption 2, this song is used in an important montage to symbolize the end of the road for the protagonist. Same idea here, but for the truck.

I had a 01 Toyota Tundra for almost 10 years. I couldn't get rid of it for anything. It was the first thing my husband and I bought together the day after we got married. About a month ago I wrecked it due to a ball joint failure causing me to lose control and hit a concrete guard. Noone else was involved. I couldn't stop crying not because of what happened and losing the truck, but feeling like a part of my life was lost. I've never felt so much for a cartoon dad but trust me, it's real folks.

I felt this, right in my 1991 Oldsmobile Bravada. may she rest in piece. . . 91-15 :_: Grandparents, parents, then mine, learned how to drive in her, many trips, trips with pets, trips to the hospital, trips to the store, vacations, funerals, it never let me down. Not once. Was towed and scrapped right out of my driveway one day because the township decided she was an eyesore despite having a plate and valid inspection stickers, all over some rust and fading paint. . . I feel Hanks pain. Cars can be part of the family, and sometimes its just too soon.

I now how hank feels I just lost my 2016 dodge dart (I know not a truck.) It was my first car that I bought and paid off by myself, my parents did not help me (they work hard so asking them feels wrong.) 3 weeks ago I lost it in an accident where I was rear ended at a yield and it took about 3 days for me to fully process the accident and break down. Me and that car went everywhere, when I first bought it I immediately used it to go out of town to see my wife's college graduation. I laughed, cried, and felt every emotion in between in that car and suddenly it was gone just like that. 2 days ago I bought myself a 22 ford ranger and i'm looking forward to experiencing new adventures and memories in my truck. I'll never forget my dart but I know it's time to move onto better things

I always understood this episode but never empathized with it until recently. I just traded in the car I learned to drive in and then drove in for almost 10 years. I am very happy with the car I have now but that day at the dealer trading in I was emotional. I had made many memories in that car, and of all my friends I was the only one who had a car that long, when they saw a blue jeep around town everyone knew it was me. cant say im impressed with the color of the car I picked up but thats a little thing, it has four wheels, an engine, a radio, and room for all my junk thats all I need.

So in reality, the train conductor would not hit the brakes like we see here. He would actually do the opposite, and increase speed. The reason is so that the train will obliterate the truck and push it and the pieces out of the way and off the track. Hitting the brakes before a collision increases the chances that the train could derail, which obviously is way worse.

I didn't like this episode in particular because Hank cares more about his truck than his own son. And at one point he tells him to sit still and try not to destroy any more trucks, which really makes me mad at him because you're blaming your kid for something that you did to himself. And it's stuff like that is the main reason why I stopped watching this show.

Hank showed emotion one time, didn’t know how to cope with it, lashed out, and then reasoned his way into making up for his rash behavior, and you want to be a little bitch.

A good reason to buy a hybrid. Stupid trucks: waste of space and gas, if only you're not a farmer.
