It's a bit mean to tell people to browse for extra artist kits & sounds whilst their TD27 update is downloading, when there aren't any kits or sounds available for the TD27
This video should have been done a little slower. I think several people will mess up as the backup and loading options are only glanced upon. Appreciate the update from Roland!!
I agree. I followed the instructions and basically when you restore the backup as per the video, you end up overwriting all the new kits you’ve added in the V2 update! I figured it out in the end…
@@campbeja001 sure, I followed all the instructions up until 5:20 in the video, then followed the Reinstall Backup advice in the video... and when this was finished, I realised all the kits were back to what they were before the Version 2 update. So I simply did the Factory Reset again (explained at around 4:40 in the video), which reset the module to the Version 2 update performed a few minutes before (which included the new kits). I then reinstalled my backup, but this time I selected 1KIT LOAD under the SD Card menu (instead of LOAD, as advised in the video), and reinstalled my custom kits (from the backup created earlier) one by one. I installed my custom kits one by one to the empty User Kits (starting at User Kit 76) on the TD-27 module. I don't know if this is the right way of doing it, but it worked for me.
Just the video I was looking for - straight to the point. Wondering if V2 adds cymbal instruments to include 3 zone RdB's? My V1 only has RdE cymbals. Thanks for the good work!
I would really love to know the answer to this. I just purchased the Roland VH-14D Digital Hi-hat Drum Pad with the understanding that this 27 module would support that. I really hope this is the case....
Hi, I don't know where to ask this question so I hope you can help! I have a TD-27 and just bought an extra CY-12C. But I only have an usb trigger input left (all other trigger inputs are already in use) and the CY-12C has only (two) jacks. How can I overcome this problem? Well after all that mine does not work. I put the card in it took 5 mins to update but turned off then on and the factory reset did not come up and then it went back to the state when I first bought the unit!

Of course, they disappeared you just reinstalled v1.11 ,over your new update ! don't reinstall backup because thats all your old v1.11shit , you will need to a factory rest and then load your old saved kits in 1 at a time

Hi can some1 help me after i upgrade into version2 I lost my settings in my midi..Im using alesis DM 10 as my second module triggering SD3. Now i have extra 2 pads on my alesis supposed to triggering as cymbals..problem now it triggers at the same time with my tom1 and not registering in my sd3.same issue with the other pads...please help
know your module! all kits you wish to import must be installed 1 at a time it's in the instructions from the owner's manual and from everybody you buy kits from
Does anyone know how to save a user kit (one made from internal TD27 module pre-2.0 update) to an SD card so it can be loaded as a single kit after updating the module to 2.0? The user kits are saved to my SD card in the backup folder but are not listed separately. I have two kits I created from sounds in the module that I use on gigs and had the settings I liked on those kits, to include transient, mic placements, trigger settings, sensitivity, bend, individual pad EQ, etc. I did the 2.0 update last night and loaded my backup from the SD card. I could upload a kit I bought from a vendor, but the user kits I made and backed up were not there. Please advise. Thanks.

Wrong BACKUP instructions. It loaded all the original sounds again. There's also a BUG. When you try to run the update again, it won't prompt for confirmation again. It'll proceed to load the 5 parts of the update. When complete, you turn off the unit but when you turn it back on.... NOTHING! No factory reset, No update. I did this a few times and can't get the update back in. Instead make note of your custom kit locations. The select "1 Kit Load". Select the source and destination locations. They won't be the same since the update had a few more kits. Most of them were the same as before.
Why does everyone like I have tried to install this update and Roland cloud does not work can somebody freaking please help me I've been doing this and pulling my hair out for nine straight days
The directions are ok until he tells you to restore your old kits from the backup that you saved and it will any personal kits you saved. WRONG: You need to load those kits back 1 at a time. If you restore the backup you will get all the old version 1.1 kits and your personal kits but you will lose the samples that came with version 2 and no matter how many you factory restore, those samples do not come back. Waiting for a response from Roland.
I solved this issue!! If this happens you just need to do a factory reset but make sure you uncheck the box that says with user samples. Once your reset is complete you are back to 2.0 again. You will need to load your user samples individually.
@@jscjazz Didn't work for me. I do get back to version 2 again but certain stock kits don't have the right sounds. However I did the factory WITH the user samples checked and it did work. It restored all the stock version 2 kits with their samples so, problem solved
All I'm hearing (i.e group pages, insta & forums) is how everyone deleted all of their backup kits because this video doesn't have you importing your saved kits INDIVIDUALLY. Luckily I remember from previous updates how to backup my kits but yeah so many people are complaining because of this so I would look elsewhere for better instruction than this. Sorry.
Wasted 2 hours, no results, wife also pissed. Module says 'no update file'. Followed the instructions to the letter, rewatching the video fragments a dozen times.

@@therossfamilyinuk I think that is the best way. The backup is specific to version 1.1 not version 2. You did it the right way I am sure.

So in the end when I backed up my old kits it deleted the new kits from the update. Maybe be a little more specific dude

As usual, Roland makes everything as complicated as humanly possible. I do appreciate the explanation, though.
