Good advice. Also go early to the park and in bad weather. It will be dead. He is so right. I got a very small shovel from walmart the handle is yellow. I wrapped it with black electrical tape.
I try to wake up 2-3 days a week at 3am to be out by 4 or 5 am, when I start seeing city workers around 7 or 8 I know its getting close to time to head out, expecially if I'm digging with my pheonix shovel I dont want the city workers to see me digging big holes with a full size shovel
I point to the headphones and say qi can't hear anything with them on. Sometimes I will take them off one ear to get the question and put them right back after I answer. That kind off sends the message.
During the summer I hunt early mornings to beat the heat and the crowds. I did my best hunting last year in fall. It gets dark early, it's cold so no ones around, wear my headlight. It's awesome. jordan
One thing Ive done that has helped abit in the parks or around the playgrounds. I always keep an old pair of sharp scissors and a few sharp nails to show the mothers out there, the nasty stuff I remove from the kids areas when they ask what and how Im doing..they appreciate it
Ello from Florida .Great info as always. I try to be a ninja, dress dark nothing flashy. keep out of the way of people as much as possible. and watch my soundings. Get in dig fast get out. DIG IT GO GO GO =D
When asked if I’ve found anything good my answer (Always) is nothing but cans & trash. Kinda cleans up the trash. Usually gets a chuckle, and gone. I don’t have much issue with kids, my wife says I have a resting FAFO face…😂
I found the severed green hand works for smaller kids. Like the Thing on Adams Family. I demonstrate how it runs. Works every time. As they think of what you are saying their little faces get a look of horror and they run off looking all around them. Hey, I'm a great grandpa running out of time and have to have some fun.
A good way to not be bothered in a park is to go on rainy day. Within reason, if it's pouring, no. Some of my best days were when I had a place to myself. Stay dirty 👍
as your getting older you should have less to do in life not more .... plus if detecting is important, you make time for what you enjoy . as for kids i dont mind teaching but had a kid pick up my AT Maxx and it was way to big for him to swing properly and it pissed me off when he started pushing the coil like a broom
Problem is, I still have a ton of bills to pay! Not only that, along with age comes aches & pains that really make it hard to get out. Got out yesterday & had a great time though!
I used to carry W & E Treasures magazines in my trunk. I would give an issue to any genuinely interested kid. Nowadays I just tell them to go on RUclips. I keep my detectors as plain as possible.
common sence is not so common these days. Also people that do that to their detector are clueless! They are more worried about how they look than how they function....
I wear headphones when I'm out. Most of the time I just pretend I can't hear them. Some times I will stop and chat. Kids can be a real pain, I don't talk with them unless there is a parent/adult with them. In the parks I detect when it is empty, if kids show up I move on to another spot. When asked what's the best thing I ever found, I tell them my wife.
damn, u got me with the neon green cable wrap lmao
LOL!

Getting an early start is smart!
When I do hit up the local parks I try to go early in the morning. Not many people there at that time and it's not hot and sunny out yet.
That's my favorite time to hit them up too. When people start showing up I bail.
I wear cammo head to toe with cammo face paint. I put cammo tape on my gear and I belly crawl.
Where do you detect at? This I gotta see 😆
@@freedomdiggersmetaldetecti8964 you'll never see me
🤣🤣🤣

That'll definitely work!

I love digging in the fall!

I've had it happen a few times.

That's the standard answer with me too. Resting FAFO face- That's freaking GOLD! 😅😅😅

Greatness!

Tell them your looking for unexploded munitions
I actually used this once!
I open carry and nobody bothers me.
I'm more of a concealed guy myself. Thanks for watching!
I don't mind talking to someone for a couple minutes but after that I want them to go away.
Same here!
Oh, you mean zombies!
😅😅😅

I'm seeing a LOT of this with Manticore owners.

Funny you say that- "My wife" is my answer too!
