My mom and dad had this album when I was a kid in the 60s
Me too!
Same.
I think everybody's mom and/or dad had this.
I had this college!!
I grew up with this album and still have it!
I was a nine year old girl in 65' , I grew up to music from our family stereo console and my mother just loved Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass
It sounds as lovely as fresh as ever🌹♥️
here in winter 2024
Born in '57 myself. Love this music. One of the things I liked about eight tracks. Could put it in and it would just keep playing and playing. But unfortunately lonely bull is not on this .
Am I the only person born in the 2000s listening to this 😭😭😭 it’s gold and deserves far more attention from the younger audience. I found this on my own, and I’m so glad I did. I suppose I’m just an “old” soul. ❤
Nobody cares
I'm right here behind you, @kabukiiimono . Herb Alpert is still alive on his 88th birthday and left us these trumpet solo Top 40 hits with his Tijuana Brass Band. Make sure you look up his 1979 hit "Rise" on RUclips.
@@venicec3310 rude :/
2010 here, this type of music give me an old feeling like I'm experiencing my life in the 50s and 60s
I grew up in the 70s listening to my father's lps don't matter the generation God music is good music
That album cover was incredible for a 16 year old Catholic school student on Long Island in 1965!
I bet it's still incredible for a 64 year old former catholic school boy from Long Island. 😀
Sure was. Whipped cream in all the right places.
You and thousands of other coming of age dudes.
I was middle schooler when this album was out. I took private lessons for trumpet from a neighbor. He would challenge me to play songs from this album. Doing that really advanced my skills as a player.
This was about the same time my parents gifted me with a Herb Alpert concert ticket and took me see the band play. I eat it up. Nothing but great memories listening to the classic songs again.
I'm 63. My dad had this record but I'm pretty sure I wore it out. 😅 The cover is of course awesome.😎
Great music👍
I still have this album from my parents.....still listen and LOVE IT......4EVER!!!!!
Without a doubt the best album of 1965.
Truly one of the greatest musicians ever.
Classy like no other.
I'm 77 and listened to Herb Alpert in the 60's. I don't have them on CDs that my kids will find and listen to some day, I just hope they'll hear them enough now that they will recognise them when they POSSIBLY hear them and comment "Grampa" used to listen to this in the 60's. He used to play them so that we would hear HIS music. I want my grandkids to hear MY music and possibly pass it on further.
My dad had an extensive record collection that I listened to when I was a little kid. Im now 50 years old and my dad passed away in 2005. He would have been 87 this year. When I got to high school, I used to play all the songs from the Herb Alpert records he had by ear. Made me a better musician in the long run.
Me too.Reminds me my 15Th birthday..im now 71..love them..😊
No worries, I've uploaded many to the iCloud where I store all of my music these days. Investigating this one now to see if I can download (buy) it.
I'm 69 years old, and was in my teens back in the 1960's, but Herb Albert was very popular among my age group. My favorite is "The Lonely Bull" but I love everything this group put out. When I married in May 1979, my husband Karl adored Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass. He'd be 82 this month. Yes, a large age difference, but I suppose love is blind!
@@christopherbordelon5960 I'm sorry for your loss. My father passed away on July 4-2004. One of the saddest days of my life, only 78.
My parents had this too. I'll bet they still have it. We listened to this as kids all the time.
Memories of a bygone era. I remember my parents hosting cocktail parties & playing this. Beautiful!
HERB ALPERT JEST GENIUSZEM INDYWIDUALISTĄ GENIUSZ WŚRÓD GENIUSZY ARCYDZIEŁO SZTUKI REWELACJA KREATYWNE WIELKI CHARYZMATYCZNY INTERPRETATOR NIESAMOWITE VIWAT HERB
Nothing like whipped cream
Wish I was at a cocktail party right now ❤❤❤
My parents also great memories
Reminds me of Sunday afternoons playing Monopoly or Scrabble with my dad and brother, a stack of LPs on the turntable, probably a pot of chili cooking on the stove...
I played in a band called Top Brass in high school playing this music and made $150.00 on weekends playing for six hours. We entertained 30K people at the Des Moines Ia airport waiting for Richard Nixon's plane to land in 1968. Also was asked to do a commercial for the Iowa State Fair by Bill Riley. We had a lot of fun - great music.
Good for you. Great story. Im 60 and remember al this
Sounds like supreme fun! Did you play any Herb Alpert?
Part of the history 👏👏👏 nice to see you 🤗 greetings from south of Brasil 🤗
I inherited this album and many others from my mom after she passed away.
So wonderful to hear these timely classics that never ready are old or out of step with today’s stuff
They should use this music in more of today's movies!!
My dad was a huge fan... in high school I was the only guy my age who listened to this stuff it's nice to see someone else pick up on their music
Happy memories listening to these great tunes
Remarkably embedded in between the Beatles, Cream, The Dave Clark Five, Stones, and Zepplin…an icon amongst the tide of rock and rollers in my musical memory.
It is as transcending as great rock and roll, and I believe the proof it is top tier music is that it is likely nobody else can perform it with such perfection.
People didn't pigeonhole what style of music they listened to so much back then. Great music was great music. Rock, pop, jazz, funk, etc.
@@armadillotoeYes. It was a great time of freedom of expression.
Great album, I mean cover no I mean album yes great LP! Okay over the top great music & cover there said it....
I was in high school in the late 60’s and I was introduced to Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass by a great guy and I still Love ♥️ This Record and All Their Music 🎼 🎶🎶🎶 Beautiful Memories ✨
my parent's music is now MY music
I'm 75 and still enjoy this music. I have two copies of this album. One is mine and one was my husbands.
I was born in 1963 & I remember my father playing this music. 🎵🎶 I was in Band later on (sax🎷) & I asked our Conductor if we could play a song from HERB ALPERT & the TIJUANA BAND... the next year we did! 😎❤👍
I also played the sax. I took a trip to New Orleans as a kid and watched Ace Cannon. I was hooked. Lol.
@@texadonkey34
👍😄Cool!
Born in 61. Same deal. Fantastic memories
I made sure my kidos heard Herb Albert and his glorious music. My son played trumpet for a bit. Fun times.
I grew up listening to this music 🎶 so beautiful
It brings back memories of my early childhood with my father.
I had this album !
As a young lad in 1965, I listened to this album constantly... and, "studied" the album cover even more!
Love Herb Alpert & T.B.
I never listened to this album as a young lad but studied the album cover everyday after school.
I just pulled this album out yesterday while going through stuff for my mom's garage sale. I put it on the phonograph for customers, but of course, I'm keeping it. I found "South of the border" also. When I was a kid, the picture of this beautiful girl in whipping cream was the stuff of dreams.
Hal Blaine, who played drums on the album, called it “ A taste of money”
My parents has this album and I listened to it all the time when I was a kid. Great memories
I still have that album. Got it in 1966, as a 14 yo.
My sister and I were 5 and 8 and fascinated by the album cover.... we figured out there was some cotton under the whipped cream. We also loved playing the music, and it reminds me of the 1960's now. I hope to see him in Ct this Spring 🌱
Tijuana Brass is indeed one of my All time Favorites...as i have listened to them since 1963.
I’m 72 and I had to always keep the album cover hidden from my mom. Seriously I did!
My dad had “ top brass taste”. This music was competing with the Beatles in 65 so I never really knew my dad had such a jazz taste. He def was an enemy to the long haired Beatles. ( remember ed Sullivan show?) . I’m enjoying herb Albert for the first time 60 years later. Thanks dad.
I have the piano book to play a lot of his songs, but I play flute. I had to improvise with the flute. I started playing TJB when I was only in fifth grade, only a yr in learning to play. I’ve loved this music and have played it all my life!
I'm 61 and remember holding and just looking at the cover of this album. I thoyI was in love!!!😅 My cousin's album was my favorite. She was in high school and I was about 5 or so. Great memories.
I'm 61 as well! I grew up listening to him. Love the music. Timeless.....
As a child looking at this album cover...I wondered where her clothes were and that looked like SHAVING CREAM not whipped cream.
One of the most iconic album covers, Delores Ericson who also graced a cover for the Kingston Trio. Last I heard, she is retired, living in the Vancouver, WA area.
Plz take me back ...
I used to listen to this album in ‘65 rocking in dad’s rocking chair. This wasn’t the only Tijuana Brass album, either. Dad had great taste in music. It must’ve rubbed off!
Im 82 and i still love this music🎉
I will turn 81 in July and I like it as much today as when I first heard it in the 60s.
I remember his music won I was 16 years old and I started to play the trumpet and I love his music too
i know this music since I was a child! A masterpice; a piece of cake!
Brings back many memories from high school in the late 60's. Also, the best album cover ever!!!
Hal Blains Calf Skin Bass Drum. Nice.
Great instrumental music
One of , if not, their best albums!!!! Had the pleasure of seeing them in concert in late 60's, what a show!!!!! As luck would have it, the next morning the auditorium (Aerie Crown Theater in Chicago,Ill.) burned. Their instruments were still on the stage for that evenings concert. This music will live forever!!!!
The album cover design, font, picture etc. are pure 1960s! I don't believe we will hear such music again
My parents had this as well. I remember being so bummed out when I realized she really wasn't sitting in real whipped cream.
Al Hirt's Java,
Louie Armstrong's
Hello Dolly played excellent trumpet in the mid 1960's but when Herb Alpert came out with hit after after hit he became my all time favorite trumpet player.
The lonely Bull
A Taste of Honey
Tijuana Taxi
Zorba the Greek
The list of favorite is long
Only 12 and this music was great. Yeah, that album cover is embedded in my brain cells.
My dad brought this home and I played it all the time. I still have the album, but have this on my favorites in YT...
I worked in a record story in 1966 these guys were big back then.
Love this music ❤
My mother had this greatest hits album. I used to listen to it a lot as a young teenager.
Crecí con esta música. A los 6 años, 1970, mi barca de fantasía bogaba mares de ingenuidad y ensueño.
👍
Same as many of you!
My parents had this album. Brings such fond memories! 🧡
I found some of these pieces to be highly inspiring to success early in life...i.e. The Lonely Bull..
I remember my mom had this album
I remember as a child looking at this album cover and thinking huh that's pretty neat she's got that whipped cream
It's actually shaving cream...the whipped cream melted too fast under the lights. AND the model is pregnant.
Go watch Herbs story on CBS Sunday Morning.
This is the kind of music that takes you, from a bad mood, to a good mood!!
I studied this album cover a lot in the 70s when I found it at my grandparents house!
Such a talent unfortunately my parents had all your albums and played them all the time, but there is a newfound interest in your art and Documentary.
I saw Herb Alpert in concert in 2019 and he talked about this album. He said he was walking around Los Angeles right after it came out and some guy came up to him raving about the album cover and the model. When Herb asked him how he liked the music, the guy said he didn't get to it yet.
Nice anecdote, thanks for sharing!

Wow qué bella música ❤ 🎶 ❤️🎶❤️
70s what a time to be alive.
I don't remember this being considered a "greatest hits" album. When nine-years-old, however, I do remember staring at the album cover and wondering why I liked looking at it sooooooo much !!! ??
Love this music. Own my original copy of this album, as well as a picture vinyl album. Some years ago on record store day they recreated the cover.

I’m 74. I played in TJB band in high school called “El Bando”. Same Instrumentaion. I had all his albums and listened t9 them all the time. I played trumpet.
This MUSIC ITS so cleverrrr!!!!!too much so Heavenly MUSIC LOVE real MUSIC past giving sweet Sensation s about calm peacefully at MUSIC.... greetings from south of Spain!great album
Many memories of listening to this album on my dad's prized stereo in the 70s. I smile as I listen...
same here.
Yes! Me too ! ❤
Real Class!
Same here.
Likewise!!
Listened to this on reel to reel back in the 60s.
Experiencing dancing, tapping, flapping with this 🎶 is an honor & privilege.
Conocí esta música ya por mi primer amor.😭 Tengo el LP pero no tengo en q, escucharlo.
I've had with me my Dads collection on reels..1965 on Scotch magnetic tape.. ❤❤
Hey Music World ... This is NOT the full album. The tunes "Peanuts" (2:09) and "Lollipops and Roses"(2:27) were not included. I don't know why those tracks were not included, but the TJB fans are suffering from the fact the entire album was not featured!
My guess is that many thought lightly of this but it holds up far better than almost all the music of this era.
I bought this album at a Salvation Army thrift store in Poughkeepsie New York while visiting friends at college in 1985. I love album art and that’s the reason I made the purchase for the album cover. I enjoyed everything on the album it was just great listening.
the year this being arrived on Earth. love potion number nine, awesome
One of my parents favorites they did ballroom dancing
A la memoria de mi papá.
I'm 74 now.
We couldn't afford much.
But we had in living room with only a new Zenith High Fidelity cabinet stereo on a shag carpet. Nothing else.
Image laying on the floor in front of this stereo and listening to this great album "A Taste Of Honey" and looking at the cover as a 15 year old boy.
What a memory!
Same here. I thought it was the bomb, so fresh and optimistic. It was the good old days of ''Do you know the way to San Jose?'' I wouldn't go to San Jose with an armored truck anymore. My father loved this album and left it in the hot sun where it turned into a nifty ashtray. I bought the Herb Albert albums after that. Loved them all. Great memories!
This music conjures up for me (being born in 66), my parents music played on our Kriesler Multisonic Stereo. They, plus my older brothers, made sure I knew this amazing music from the 60s.
This just randomly showed up in my RUclips feed. I remember seeing this cover in my parents' album collection.
I have this album on LP plus most of his other albums. Great music!
I never tire of his music. It brings back a lot of memories my mom dancing to his music.Seen Herb play way back in Conn. I think in the early 60's. Take care Herb and Lani.
When I was a teen I had so many good times with this album I dug up from my parents record collection. Eventually I got around to listening to it and found the music was equally enjoyable!
This is music ❤
taste of honey soo good we needed it TWICE!
Memories! We still have the LP
Nothing was better after a long patrol. Herb and Herbie.
I'am 22 it's still good music
Remembering and missing my dad on his birthday today and followed the pull to listen to this soundtrack while looking at old photos. I remember as a little girl thinking this album cover was SO scandalous & sexy, it was hard to take my eyes off this beautiful woman though.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I remember that album cover well ;)
