Two years ago when my husband signed up for Caesars and did a status match via MGM, I was denied because I already had a card. Mahalo for this and all the work you do. Sticking a baseball stadium on the strip is an absolute waste of real estate and a stupid idea.

There's a 2024 ballot proposal pending to block public funding for the stadium. The A's corporate welfare lobbyists are suing to block it. So the stadium funding isn't guaranteed yet.

It's a good spot, now you'll have the baseball stadium. Across the street T Mobil arena and the football stadium in the general area, you have it all in the same place.
I lived in Vegas 20 years ago, boy it has gone downhill with all the greed. F1 should have never happened.
Rip off resort fees are going to ruin Vegas
Unlikely, even with resort fees, Las vegas rooms and suites are still cheap compared to other 4 - or 5-star hotels across the US, especially in tourist hotspots
Do your research. Every time I go to Vegas I never stay at the strip. I go outside the strip to get more for your dollar.
@@RebelMontanayeah, but then you pay an arm and a leg for Uber instead of walking around your hotel area. I’ve been staying downtown more because it’s generally cheaper and everything is in one place. Also, Queens and Apache are the only two hotels that don’t have resort fees.

Sad to see the Tropicana go. I was staying there as a kid back in the 60's when my grandmother got remarried to her second husband. He gave us rolls of nickels to run around and play the slots. That was until security caught us and kicked us out of the gambling areas for being underage. But we still had fun!
I miss what Las Vegas used to be, but I'm glad I got to experience it.
i was just a kid when it sounds like peak vegas started to fade... things like slots o fun, free parking everywhere, smoking basically everywhere as well, INSANE pedestrian traffic before the overpasses, and cheap buffets and steak dinners..... before heavy surveillance, cell phone cameras, the race to be the most luxurious strip property, pedestrian bridges that will eventually ban pedestrians haha... and things like f1 trying to bring more non-US visitors to town...... its gone thru some bizarre evolutionary leaps but continues to be one of the most visited places in the world im always tempted to start researching what a move there would entail..... until then ill just look forward to my next visit to vegas and tune into jacob hes bringing it with the breadth of info he brings
When I celebrated my 55th birthday I stayed at the Tropicana for 5 nights. I was told by several employees that the Tropicana would be demolished in 2 years. Five years later I stayed there to save money on a budget vacation to Vegas. Again, I was told that for sure they would demolish the Tropicana within a year. I'm 77 now, and you say that they will demolish it very soon. I'll believe it when I see it.
The monthly updates are admittedly my favorite!! It feels like it could be an actual segment on a travel news channel haha 😂

I always enjoyed Slots-a-Fun because the black jack was $5 during the day and there's a Subway right there.
that place sounds so beloved by locals from back in its heydey even as recently as the 1990s. i can remember in 98 visiting vegas on a family trip and seeing the hoover dam bridge with its first trusses being built out from the canyon walls, when the paint at the bellagio was drying, and we stayed at the stardust, which is where resorts world now stands. i walked past slots o fun and remember the people basically spilling out onto the street from that place, cigarette smoke wafting thru the buzzing wall of neon across the street at The Riviera..... i wasnt old enough to enjoy the adult side of vegas but it was a very intoxicating atmosphere and it left such an impression. it won me over and ive treasured vegas for the surreal american oasis that its always been......

Fuck F1. That was horrible with little to no gain for las vegas as a whole. Didnt benifit anyone except high end casinos and european contries. Superbowl the other hand.....

Bringing Circus Circus back would be like raising the Titanic setting sail fully booked! Impossible.
Makes my heart happy that people are coming together to file a class action against the damages F1 caused. We shall see if they can do anything. Those with blackwater type power are difficult to pin down in a court room but we shall see.

I love your videos as they provide some great information. I'm not sure but have you done one on the sphere? Especially access to it if you park and if you use ride share. As a person with mobility issues it would be great to see how I can get to it on my June visit

Circus circus please bring back the log ride. Sooo much nostalgia and the last time I went the ride was shut down. I miss seeing those bats climbing up. Going around. Looking around at ll the people walking around and them zooming down the double ramp slide splashing the wall. It was such a vibe and just reminiscing just makes me grateful To god I was able to experience.
Stayed at Tropicana in 2019, everything including 2 double rooms, all food and drinks, 200 dollars a day free play were all comped, so expense was minimal. Casino was a disappointment, the Brunch Buffet they had going at the time was outstanding as was Robert Irvines!

Jacob, in regard to the tropicana closing, can you find out if they will be putting things up for sale to the public (like what Riviera did) like their blackjack tables? And if they are, when?
Stayed at the Strat the week after superbowl and there was no room service, esculator broken and being repaired on top of several stores closed down. The Strat is not a bad stay room was cleaned daily and the tv remote was missing which they came up very fast with a new one!

Just returned from Las Vegas on Tuesday. The casino, where I'd like to be, was just not somewhere I could hang out. Nevermind little children walking by and even stop to watch me spin, but the smoke... ugh. I'm an ex-smoker, the worst kind. Just sitting in stink is disgusting. Couldn't handle it. I really do not care if they change it to non-smoking... I'm not returning to Vegas. Naaaa.
Park MGM hotel is 100% non smoking including the casino. Some non smoking gamblers just use the casino and get affordable eats at other hotels on the strip.

We are going to the Tropicana on April 1st. I’m going to be so sad when it gets torn down. For some reason I enjoyed gambling there. It always felt so clean and crisp.
It was a great place, very old school. But I hated the long walk from check-in to the elevators.

$11.99 ATM service fee?! You better be sure to have debit card that reimburses ATM fees like the Charles Schwab one does.
Don't use the ATMs in casinos period. Best option is just buy something inexpensive with a debit card and get cash back. If you need lots of cash, use the ATMs in nearby drug stores on the strip, fees are $2.99-5.99.
Another icon lost on the strip... I think they'll look back and realize tearing down all the old school casinos was a mistake

Agree very sad, and just 11 years after a huge 180 million dollar renovation! It turned out so nice. I was very happy when it was decided in 2011 to refurbish, instead of demolish and build a new place. What a waste.
Fontainebleau sounds nothing like Fountain Blue. A French person would cringe big time.

Like all those streets named after trees (Live Oak, Pine, Cedar, etc), Tropicana Blvd will be a street named after what USED TO BE in the area. 😕

Those resort fees are crazy. For 3 nights, I’d rather just stay at home and recreate the bed scene from Indecent Proposal with 150 $1 bills.

I remember the part of town across the Riviera, the Stardust slots of fun Western Hoe, and Circus Circus. I hung out at those places quite a bit when I come there years back now we don’t even look at circus circus. It’s so rundown it feels dirty when you go in there.

Go to your Caesars Rewards account and send them a question. There is actually a special drop down category on the question form for tier status questions.
My tier match went through last night! So, I can report that they do still tier match with Wyndham business VISA. :)
Im always amazed how these number seem to consistently grow for gambling but the percentage of actual revenue for gaming is going down considerably in the last 40yrs. Especially since 2008. Where as the revenue for shopping, restaurants, and rooms keeps expanding. Last I looked, Vegas only had 37% gaming revenue and the rest was everything else. BIG difference from 40 years ago. When it was all gaming and everything else was a comp or pennies on the dollar. Even 22 years ago everything else was only 18% and gaming held the rest. You can definitely see the trends moving.
I wish they'd pass a law that resort fees must be priced into the room. That way, tourists could compare more accuately.

The amusement park is being built near the old Fiesta Rancho Casino. What happens with the old site is yet to be seen

Great information, but what I want to know, as a frequent regular visitor to LV since 1980, why is the down escalator in front of Planet Hollywood, been disabled for years.
