Been seeing DMB since 1995 and this honestly was the top moment I have ever seen. I literally had tears of joy streaming down my face. It was a few minutes of pure bliss, musical Heaven.
Kraig Bantle love this comment, hits home! Been going since ‘98 and just watching this video it became one of my most favorite moments without even being there. But the band and their journey has been lately bringing a few tears of joy to my eyes lately while listening to them and all the free shows and streams thinking about the influence they’ve had on me and how damn happy the music makes me
Kraig, I said the exact same thing on my FB page. 63 shows and this was the greatest moment I've been blessed with. Praying now for HD release by the boys. Cheers!
I have tears streaming from my eyes. This is one of the best musical moments I have ever seen. I miss playing my trumpet so much after watching this. Thank you Dave and Preservation Hall Jazz Band!!!
If a tree falls in the woods and you're not there to hear it, does it make a sound? I gives a damn. All I know is if DMB and Pres Hall blow the freaking roof off the joint, ChesterCopperpot will drop that goodness on the Tube and you will get to melt your face off with all the lucky Gorge attending sumbitches. Thank you sir and HUGE thanks to Dave Matthews Band and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Damn it son!
People around us were losing it. Been seeing DMB since 2004 every year and never seen anything like this. Had goosebumps for a few mins straight. Very emotional performance
I was blowing up those balloons in the pit that night 😂 after the song Dave jokingly said “goodnight everybody!” Bc the song killed like no song I’ve ever seen at the gorge in my 20 years of seeing him❤
Last year was my first time at the Gorge and was wondering which moment would stand out. I never expected it to be That Girl is You. The energy was fantastic.
the best part about this was after they left the stage, dave was just like "thank you goodnight!" as a joke.. it was only the 4th song of the set. which the rest of was absolutely unreal.
Was there and my daughter and wife took a picture of me just captivated, with joy. Not sure how many caught Tim smiling? Nothing but joy on that stage. Another reason that the Gorge must go on this year, the joy.
I was sitting around my BIL’s fire pit the first time I heard this and I absolutely lost my shit. I’m a DMB fam and there is something about this sing that just gets me moving, dancing, singing… jamming. Love it!!!!
Dave, once again you show us your genius creatively, and at the same time, allow other talented musicians to showcase theirs!!! HORNS FOR DAYS, BRASS ORGASM!!!!!!!!
That's what this song needed. Who better to compliment a song that sounds like it was written with New Orleans in mind than a band from the French Quarter?
Was there for this and it was great and JOYFUL. Have both nights this year that Government Mule is opening. It will be great and DMB and Warren have great chemistry, but can they be joyful and energetic?
i know it was song 4 of the set, but really this song set the tone for the rest of the night. still gives goose bumps. sad they chose to end on cornbread after all that.......
I waited 20 years to get to the gorge. And I got to witness this from the pit 3 back from Dave. It felt like a gift.
I was right behind you. Ish...
Nice!

agreed! #chills
The pure joy, infectious!
Almost impossible to get through without tears!

I have watched this so many times that it stays in my suggested videos permanently. So much magic.

One of the best DMB moments, and all of this happened to the Gorge. It goes to the legend.
Jst found this and man this could put a smile on everyone’s face.
It makes me so happy when Dave and PHJB perform this together.
Brings tears to my eyes every damn time. The Joy they create and they share is just priceless.
This had to be absolutely incredible to see live wow I am in awe watching and listening to this 💜💜💜💜💜 masterful
Good Lord. What an amazing moment for music and love. Thank you Chester for posting this.
For me this might be the best DMB performance of all time. The sound engineering is of the charts!
Dave's marching/boppin step was EPIC!!!
I was at this show and still to this day I get the goosebumps . So much fun to watch!
If I was to choose one band to listen to for the rest of my life and no other it will be the Dave matthews band
Last year was my first time at the Gorge and was wondering which moment would stand out. I never expected it to be That Girl is You. The energy was fantastic.
This was my fav performance of the weekend. I screamed and sang and danced the whole weekend! Love Dave love The Gorge!!! ❤️
I've seen dave hundreds of times and this is one of the best things ever. Uggh I can't believe I missed Gorge this year.
tim850csi my rule is “never miss a night at the gorge!”
In the pit, few rows back, this is by far the most energy I felt from music in a long while. Still get goosebumps!
the best part about this was after they left the stage, dave was just like "thank you goodnight!" as a joke.. it was only the 4th song of the set. which the rest of was absolutely unreal.
2020 and still get goosebumps watching this and being in the pit for this,
Was there and my daughter and wife took a picture of me just captivated, with joy. Not sure how many caught Tim smiling? Nothing but joy on that stage. Another reason that the Gorge must go on this year, the joy.
You couldn't slap the smile off of my face right now!
845 mark is why I love Dave lol He loves playing, soo much joy in him he is marching 😂😂
best DMB guest spot in years. Those horns make your blood flow a little faster...
This was the highlight of our Gorge 2018 for sure. While it was playing I was hoping for a Chester Copperpot of this one! :) Thanks!
pure f'ing joy - goosebumps
I was sitting around my BIL’s fire pit the first time I heard this and I absolutely lost my shit. I’m a DMB fam and there is something about this sing that just gets me moving, dancing, singing… jamming. Love it!!!!
Dave: I got a fever, and the only perscription...... is MORE GODDAMN HORNS BABY!
PHENOMENAL!!! I love this song
This was my last Dave show so far, and of my favorite shows of my 84!
ChesterCopperpot, you NEVER fail us!!!
What a beautiful reminder of what music can be. So inspiring and beautiful.
I’ve watched this at least a hundred times, and it makes me cry every time. So much joy!!!!!
Joyous
This is why we do this.
What a truly beautiful moment in time.
rita k oconor

This was EPIC to see in person - thanks so much for everyone involved in making this vid. It still gives me goosebumps seeing it again
I was at this show. This was so fantastic when they all came out.
What the holy shit!!!!
This is my new go to happy song.
8:49 - Dave knew to cherish this moment. The energy was wild. Everyone felt it in the entire amphitheater!
My one and only DMB show, this shit was 🔥 UNBELIEVABLY GREAT
Just so much fun being had! Glad to see it here, wish I could have seen it live.
I was there and the entire Gorge was rocking for this jam!! One of my most fun DMB moments!
Me too!
Dave, once again you show us your genius creatively, and at the same time, allow other talented musicians to showcase theirs!!! HORNS FOR DAYS, BRASS ORGASM!!!!!!!!
I was so fortunate to be at the Gorge to see this. I love how Dave smiled the entire time. Hope to hear this again in Charlottesville in December.
Thanks so much - this was my favorite song all weekend at the Gorge 2018!
Badass band see u in November for the 84th
6:00 damn, when that jam kicks in
totally!!
Literally play this in my head on repeat!!
It really gets no better than this, try and sit still during this song, it’s not possible. Special place in my heart for this one ❤🙌 🪬
Pretty slamming version, Gorge night three really delivered. Cheers!
Thanks you guys!!
It was amazing! Thank you!!
Haven't missed a DMB show at the gorge for 21 years, this was a top 3 show for sure! Unreal
always does
totally agree!!
Wow- music lovers of all, try to get through this without a smile. What a beautiful jam
That’s one of the best versions of any song I’ve seen! Look at the big smile on Dave’s face! Beautiful.
I saw these guys in Nola this year and damnnnnnnn! Love this
Good stuff - well done. What a song - what a night.
This was amazing!
Those first 3 minutes are pure gold!
❤️
New favourite version :) Thanks!
HOLY SHIT AWESOME !!
One of the best of all time - love it!! Thank you!!!
Palpable joy! Awesome.
I will say this performance actually made this song amazing, didn't think that could happen!
Really incredible. So much fun to watch DMB play with other artists. Wish I had been at this one.
It was great!
I love you Dave.
I'm digging that opening hip grind Dave's got going. I just want to see him DANCE. Oooh yeah.
This was a lot of fun to watch. Thanks for sharing
Great energy!!
Excellent 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Incredible!
Amazing! Thank you!!
I'd like to buy a drink for the guy playing the trombone!
Hes goin in! Lol Get it big fella! In his own zone!😎😂

We’ll now….you just knew this would be genius
💚💜
@chestercopperpot5 hey, is it me or are these dudes all just reincarnations of LeRoi?
CC, have done a full recording of this show? It is so Crispy!!!
I want one, I was there how do I get a full recording? This night was epic.
that Nick Cannon with the turban?
I will mess this up so help: Miles runs down the voodoo in the beginning on piano?
Who's the guy in the middle with the guitar?
Thank you for this!!! Do you have the 3rd night???
The entire second night was aired but not one and three.
i know it was song 4 of the set, but really this song set the tone for the rest of the night. still gives goose bumps. sad they chose to end on cornbread after all that.......
One of their worst songs of all time finally sounds good.
I really want to like this song... but I can't get past the vocals :(
He was realllllly struggling. When he played this song night 2 it sounded great, I think his voice was exhausted by this point.
@Patrick Brewer I'm not a hater or complaining just stating an observation I made from 10 feet away from this.
I'm talking about the song in general. I don't like the vocal range/style on it very much, live or album. Just not my song.
