    My 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 5.2 V8 is still going strong for 25 years without engine overhaul. Right now it is 391,000 miles. Several years ago, I've used conventional oil then blue smoke came out from tail pipe as I didn't like so, I switched to Mobil One Synthetic oil with royal purple oil filter for years without any problem as well always passed smog check too.

    Living in florida and having a car that recommends a thinner oil 5w20. There is nothing wrong with that with amsoil. I believe the synthetic blends can leave that varnish and tar in your VVT. With base oil being mineral, you will never get close to the wear protection of amsoil. Especially with modern 0w5 through 0w20. You need amsoil in these more efficient modern engines.

    What you missed is that because Amsoil is made from the purest base and the best additives out there. When it burned it did not create much smoke. While the others next to it did and the one in the middle was the worst.
    Also the reason it was hard to get them to burn continually and was harder to get Amsoil to burn continually. Is that all oil have what is called a flash point and a fire point. Flash point is when the oil is heated up enough to produce a gas that ignites. Fire point is where the liquid portion is heated up enough to burn. The further apart these 2 point are the better. Regular oil these 2 points are very close. This why the regular oil flashed then burned. The center oil is better but the 2 points are further apart so it took more to get it going. And the 100% synthetic the 2 points are even further apart so it was even harder to get it to burn.

    That's not what synthetic oils are about, synthetic oils hold there, Viscosity: the state of being thick, sticky, and semifluid in CONSISTANCY, due to internal friction. I was informed by the owner Jan Norris of Precision Engine Machine in Hyattsville md, synthetic oils better retain there viscosity... there's that word again, to "ELEVATED INTERNAL" temperatures better than, conventional engine oils. "Conventional " ENGINE OIL's lose there viscosity at ( 350 deg. internal METAL TEMP.) E.g. 65 mph , VS synthetic oils lose there viscosity at 1000 deg. internal METAL TEMP. "internal METAL means friction temperatures of... CRANK & RODS / ALL BEARINGS / RINGS / LIFTERS / CAMSHAFT / VALVE STEMS / OIL PUMP / PUSH RODS "where they seat in the rockers and lifters. That's what synthetic oils are about. Unless I was LIED TO ????

The oil that doesn't burn completely goes into my catalytic converter for a final burn. If the cat I have can get got enough, then it may burn synthetic better than conventional....and get me my golden license plate tags.

      repairvehicle non turbo Mazda RX-7. Standard rotary engine from 1987. I removed the air pump for better performance and health...but no good for emissions test. Planning to run heavy denatured alcohol with little gasoline. I think with the right mixture and (I think!!) With a synthetic change from conventional, it may pass.
      I'm thinking...conventional oil ignites quick, but doesn't burn "clean". Synthetics burn less easy, but when they do (hoping they do in my cat!!!) They burn away cleaner and better for emissions test.
      I'll be trying it soon..it's Sunday and they don't open until Tuesday. I'll try to check back if you are interested:) thank you for the video. It helped me think it out more!

    Heat/gas is the byproduct of chemical reaction. It is heat which significantly reduces the life of the engine inner component parts. Heat is energy and few metals such as aluminum are extremely good in heat conduction therefore increasing the overall engine temperature. Engine oils/coolant are used to decrease the temperature. How? Oils tends to decrease the friction between moving parts. 2) Heat can dissipate through oil and heat (energy) is lost by increasing the oil temperature. Some oils are good in absorbing heat and some are good in reducing friction which will lead to less heat generation by moving parts. 100% Synthetic or full synthetic is all marketing tactics used by advertisers to fool customers. Additives are good enough to decease friction and prolonging engine oil intervals. Use basic oil and add additives. Check the oil sign indicator light to next oil change interval. I have used 100% synthetic, full synthetic and basic oil and added engine additive. Got 8600 miles through basic oil with engine additive. Full synthetic and 100% synthetic gave 5800 and 6200 respectively on a 2007 honda civic. Basic amsoil oil and additive worked the best and provided most miles and costed half the price of synthetic. Chemistry and Physics can demystify all the myths.

    • @rauleyshar3635
      @rauleyshar3635 7 лет назад +2

      A 100% Synthetic oils is 100% synthetically produced compound mixed with additives which are also 100% synthetically produced. In order for a company to advertise 100% synthetic term, they need to fulfill the guidelines vs full synthetic which is not regulated! Full Synthetic is a term which can have many meanings thus companies usually use that term. It is a deceptive term with many other meanings. Base and additives can be partially synthetic in full synthetic. 100% full synthetic can only be used when entire oil components are synthetically produced and it is also regulated.
