At the sound test, he said, "sounds like a real Harley", immediately after I had just said the exact same words. Good choise of exhaust, one could also say, a match made in heaven. The tuning forks in the Sport Glide wheels don't get me excited at all, but otherwise, not a bad bikeI. I also love the banter going on between you both, almost like school kids..., my dad's stronger than yours. No, my dad is stronger etc.! And now to this video, and what I did NOT like..., it was not good video, it was f**king incredible, just not long enough. I could have watched 90 plus minutes of this, with a bucket of popcorn, like in the cinema.!!
But now I must stop commenting, or you will start getting big-headed.

A Softail Standard 107 or Street Bob 114 with the mid-controls, mini ape hangers is probably a better comparison to a Sportster.

I have a 2021 gauntlet grey Sport Glide. I part exchanged my 2006 sportster. My sporty sounded awsome with Vance and Hines straight shots. My Sport Glide sounds great with stage 1 and Rinehart. If I had the money I would have also kept the Sportster. I love the Sport Glide, perfect for virtually every occasion. I will not take off road, that's it. And yes, I wish I was a bit younger!!!!

Good evening Tomboy_a_bit. They both sound great. I've got fond memories of George and John on there HD cruisers on the M1 passing mini sausage rolls around as our bikes thumped alone munching up miles while we munched up the sausage rolls. Shame we have to get old? I enjoyed this vlog and the interview. Safe happy cruising girl till next time 👍😊.

Sweetie, loved the way you left "plow-boy hot pants" in traffic by lane splitting and left him in your dust! I would take the 883 Sportster as my first bike(Harley-Davidson wise) over the sport glide! A3.5 gallon fuel tank, engine guards, a fuel gauge and a wind screen then I'm golden!

i just bought recently a Sport Glide 2018 and l love it. i had a Night Rod Special 2018 and a Road King 2013. The Glide is quite similar than the V Rod, but without the RPMs at all the gears... which is so cool with the 1250 Night Rod !

It was so interesting to hear the views of the Sport Glide's owner and then to see you ride it and hear your reaction. Brilliant video and production, thank you! I think your summary was sport on. I noticed the physique of the bikes matched their owners... and I much prefer yours (bike!). Perhaps when Apex is on the road you could do a similar comparison with a more standard sports bike. Thank you for making so many interesting and photographically excellent videos.

Hi, I have aHD Iron 883 for about 3 years and just bought a HD Ultra 2016. It’s amazing the difference of riding and the sensation. I still not sure if the Ultra fits my personality (the Iron certainly does) but I am very excited to experience more the Ultra and be ready to start making long trips with it. I hope I will enjoy it in the near future. Otherwise I still have the Iron…

In the USA, there are a lot of women that have bought and ride Sport Glides. Sadly, 2021 was the last year Harley offered it in the US market. Very happy with my Twisted Cherry Red 2018 Sport Glide, which I have only put mustache bars on, LED lights, and a Saddlemen Explorer seat, a good touring seat.

Prefer the Glide naked tbh, good choice of exhaust, fairing and panniers make it look like something my father would ride as he likes his Gold Wings. Lovely review but I’d find it too big and heavy for me as I’m tiny, the Iron 883 was fine for me when I had it a few years back 👍

On the Sportster "Cruise Control" that screw is actually a Throttle Friction Screw its made for making the throttle smoother not really meant to hold it in place, The new Sportsters have an actual cruise control its easier to add to new types of Sportster since its uses a ride by wire system.
I have had both Sportsters and Big Twins over the past years, I always preferred the sportsters, but I'm a little guy and on the Dyna's and later models the clutch cover always made me feel awkward trying to put my feet down, the slim Sportsters fit me nicely but I admit the most miles I rode in a day is 500 and I was worn out, that was on a 96 1200 and I had a comfy saddle and pad.
LOL I''m old guy (61) worked on bikes of all types, I remember in 1996 the new Sportsters came with the "new" style push in throttle cables, prior to that they actually bolted into the throttle housing, I have replaced that little clip that holds the throttle friction knob in place I lost count, the clip is there to prevent someone screwing it all the way out.
And I used to keep a bag of the little c clips that go on the throttle cables in my tool box, they like to fly off and go to the most remote places in the shop.

The SportGlide is the best selling bike in the rest of the world due to its versatility, size and price. It was hands down the best selling bike here in the US during Covid and is why Harley quit selling it here in the US. I bought my SportGlide after owning a Sportster and a CVO. THE CVO was too big for city riding and if you dropped the bike it was totaled due to the cost of replacing parts. I had hoped the SportGlide would have replaced the Sportster as the standard bike for older riders, women and smaller riders. The Sportster has no fuel gauge, has only five speeds and at 1,200 cc should not be allowed on any highway where the speed limit is over 65mph as it shakes so bad you can’t see anything in the side mirrors, and is too light on even a two lane highway if a large semi goes bY. The SportGlide weighs only 650lb when naked and with 1/2 tank, so is only 100 lbs heavier hen he Sportster. The107 cu/in engine is comparable to a 114 cu/in with the stage one and stage two screaming eagle upgrades. The Sportster also has no resale value and Harley uses it as a loss leader to sell to newbie riders so they will make their money when the rider is trades it in for a bigger bike. Why else would they sell a bike without a,fuel gauge. Harley salesmen are giddy when a sportster comes in for service to sell the owners a real Harley bike. This was a great comparison video, but it just shows how sportster owners think they really own a Harley bike and are loyal to it, until they own a real Harley Davidson.

If you have a Sportster up to a 2020 model, I totally recommend getting a CruiseMate cruise control to replace the regular thumb screw. Light years better. With gloves, no problem whatsoever.

I was always convinced my Sport Glides steering wasn't straight, it always looked as if the right handlebar was closer than the left. Interesting to see Brian was the same. Great bike and really two biles in one with the QD panniers and screen. Shame it's discontinued, but maybe Harley will have a new version in a few weeks...

The Sport Glide sounds really good but the Sportster sounds like a WW1 fighter plane. The standard M8 does sound like a sewing machine though and this is coming from someone who rides a Japanese four pot.

  • @niagarawaygmail
    @niagarawaygmail 10 месяцев назад +1

Agree it’s a sewing machine. When you have the budget do the breather and the pipe. If you got more than that do a stage two. Get a taller windshield. Fucking bad ass

Haha. She is spot on saying the USB charger is cheap and relatively easy to place on a bike.
I put one on my Sportser and it is certainly not a bargaining point for a purchase of a bike.
The big difference in the engines is the sportster engine is noisy with its four cams and valve train.
The M8 single cam is far quieter.
