Good luck getting this song out of your head for the next week....😉
So very true! 😂
Yes I agree lol!! 😂
True!! I love this song but yep, I'll probably be singing it in my head in the morning 😂
😂
Truth 😂
I’m a 65 year old guy who grew up with the music of the 60’s and 70’s, but for some reason this song always made me smile. Love it! 😁
Me too! I'm a 65 year old woman and this song was so refreshing! My girls were in intermediate and high school when this came out and we always had a great time with this song. I did rock out with the 60's and 70's but I love all music!
They sampled the 70’s song, ‘More, More, More’ by Andrea True Connections so it will definitely have that fun 70’s vibe. I loved the original, I loved this song when it came out and I still love them both now. It’s a fun Summer “turn it up” kind of jam. 🥰
Because it's pretty much like a lot of songs from the late 60s and the 70s.
Same
@@americangirl6029Thank you for the sampling info..was blanking on it..More, More. More was a banger on clubs..
Another good song from 1990 is “ Unbelievable “ by the group EMF. I’m sure Jay may change his mind about 90’s songs👍
It might get blocked by Andrew "Dice' Clay. I do agree with you.
I’ve suggested this several times! ❤
U R so right!
And Good Enough by Dodgy
Talented bunch of lads they are/were. Should have had more credibility.
They sampled the 70’s song, ‘More, More, More’ by Andrea True Connections so it will definitely has that fun 70’s vibe with the 90’s influence(clothes, hairstyles, etc). I loved the original, I loved this song when it came out and I still love them both now. It’s a fun Summer “turn it up” kind of jam. It was a fun time to grow up! 🥰
They should listen to that song now.
Andrea True was also a porn star I think the words from her song, "more, more, more" and "how do you like it", were direct quotes from one of her movies.
The original Andrea True song would be a good female Friday choice.
Thank you. I knew I heard this music before but couldn't place it, even though I heard it a lot on the radio in the 70s. It definitely has that the 70s sound.
Aye, the music is basically just the bridge of More More More on loop. Steal My Sunshine could've easily been a '70s disco tune.
I was in my 20's in the 90's. This song never fails to bring back some happy memories. ❤
I was 27....
Same here. I think musically and culturally we were born at just the right time.
I was 32 ✌💖☮
Same here. Good times!
Turned 21 in 98… best of times! ❤
This song was 100% a summer vibe... it's simple, light, and fun.
I believe 1999/2000 is the last time a large section of society was truly happy and enjoying the moment. This song really captures that feeling...
Yep, and then 2001 happened and everyone stopped dancing
Yeah the new millennium has really been a drag so far.
Yes, I agree. I grew up in the 70s and 80s. The 90s was the last decade in which the future seemed optimistic as far as I can tell.
Thinking about the 90s makes me remember how much fun things were. Songs like Love Shack and Rock Star.
@@decolonizeEverywhere -- I think that was more around 2010 and the rise of populist politics which has divided society.
The song's instrumental backing track is a sample of Andrea True Connection's 1976 single "More, More, More,"
beat me to it; I went to an in store that Sonic Youth did in 1986 and a friend gave Thurston Moore an Andrea True Connection album; Thurston had the store play it over the sound system
Yes. And look up Andrea True for a little bit of a shock.
This was out summer of 99 and it was EVERYwhere. You seriously couldn't turn on the radio without hearing it.
Rolling into the very early 2000s, y'all might enjoy "Butterfly" by Crazy Town. And speaking of 'Towns', also check out "Your Woman" by White Town." I really think you might enjoy both of those!
All great 90s suggestions!!
Your Woman was so cool!
Another vote here for Your Woman - an oft forgotten tune.
Thank God I was in the Navy and we were overseas in the Mediterranean from May 1999-December 1999…and I missed out on this terrible song being played to death! Lol love my 90’s grunge-alternative!!! Hate this song! Lol
@@DouglasRyan-ux9cj I love grunge and the harder stuff like NIN, etc, but there was something so catchy and charming about this song, I thought it was great. It's OK to have eclectic tastes! 🙂
One of my favorite from the 90s - Toad the Wet Sprocket. "All I Want", "Good Intentions", "Walk on the Ocean".
All I Want is so beautiful! Toad the Wet Sprocket were something special!
The whole Fear album was amazing
Toad is one of the MOST under-appreciated bands we have still doing it years later. Their songs are so well thought out, artistic
"Walk on the Ocean" is a beautiful song, but it's one of those rare cases where the radio version is superior to the album version. (IMO)
One of the greatest “one hit wonders “ for your female Friday is Katrina and the Wave “Walking on Sunshine “. Trust me!
That was a much bigger hit than this.
Omg yes! “I’m shook” that you haven’t listened to this yet.
Nena’s “99 Luftballoons” would also be an excellent song for them to react to if they haven’t already.
Katsina had another two hits l remember, sun Street and the euro winning love shine a light
For Female Friday some Canadian talent Ria Mae - Clothes Off ruclips.net/video/EAEkxSOkR5s/видео.html or Bend ruclips.net/video/_56u5t8RQRI/видео.html Fefe Dobson - Ghost ruclips.net/video/lXrFBsYKrgE/видео.html or Stuttering ruclips.net/video/cmb8_KsrNSQ/видео.html

One of my favorite songs from the 90's is The Way by Fastball. Cool vibe. Nice vocals.
All of Fastball’s singles for that album are really good!
That song has more hooks than a pirate convention
They reacted to it already :)
Another 90s 1 hit wonder to check out is “How Bizarre” by OMC, a group from New Zealand. Song is Fire🔥
That song is used so much.
The lead singer passed away.😟
@@petercourtien4581 yes sad story
ruclips.net/video/-bZxrQPmPKg/видео.html
they were technically a 1 hit wonder but that whole album was FIRE.
If you're going 90s with this kind of vibe then OMC and "How Bizarre" is the pinnacle. I had the Len album and it was really good.
How bizarre baby!!!
Another ear worm song 😂🫶🏻🇨🇦
@@zonedout5998 Zina says right on!
Yessss and Tubthumping by Chumbawamba.
@@MoriahDreams123 Another great one! Everywhere at the time and stuck in your head forever.
Arguably one of the best One-Hit Wonders of all-time!
AGREED, 100%
Spot on Amber, eclectic is 100% what defines the 90s.
This song is "sampled" from the classic 70's hit "More, More, More" by The Andrea True Connection.
Yes.. Thank you
Yes! They need to that one too 😁
Indeed, the vocal break from that song was sampled for this one
Yes. Nobody reacts to that one hit wonder though 😮
@janef220 both are one hit wonders, but ATC rocks
If y'all like this vibe, check out some Sugar Ray. For me it's what I'd imagine hanging out at the beach would be like in the 90s. "Fly", "Every Morning", and "Someday" are ones to check out by them.
Lol, Sugar Ghey
I really like "Every Morning"!
That's funny, I was literally thinking they'd like "Every Morning" while I was watching this.
@@brianmcmaster5112😂
90's had amazing music. Try:
- Jamiroquai - "Virtual Insanity"
- Everclear "Father of Mine"
- Crash Test Dummies - "Afternoons & Coffeespoons"
- Beck - "Loser"
- Cypress Hill - "Insane In The Brain"
I LOVE, love, love love, Everclear's breakthrough song "Santa Monica". It's got a very 90's feel and evidence of Grunge influences (plus a dose of that late 90's Nihilism). HAs to be included in any list of great 90's songs.
@@chrisgilbert9076 - Agreed. Same for "I Will Buy You A New Life".
I don't think they are ready for that level of BeCk yet.
Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine -
"Is Wrestling Fixed?"
"The Only Living Boy In New Cross"
"Any time, Any Place, Anywhere"
"After The Watershed"
If I remember correctly, the lead guy was a radio DJ, and the girl singing is his sister.
Loved this song. The main beat/sound is sampled from Andrea True Connection's 'More, More, More' from the 1970s (a great dance hit). Great stuff.
Someone always beats me to it, LOL...
As a kid in the 70’s, l loved More, More, More but by the 90’s my musical tastes evolved away from top 40 and dance music. So it was a bit of an anomaly to me as to why I liked Steal My Sunshine when it came out until I found out about the backbone of the song.
Andrea True was a porn star!
True. I was going to post the same. More specifically, it's the instrumental break from More More More.
Andrea True was also a porn star I think the words from her song, "more, more, more" and "how do you like it", were direct quotes from one of her movies.
She has one of the sweetest sounding voices ever. I absolutely love it. And this song is absolute fire. I never get tired of it.
Omg, this just transports me right back to my 20s. Great upbeat classic 90s song.
This song made me smile ear to ear when it came out that one summer 😎
Song has such a happy vibe. I love it.
I had a crush on this girl many years ago. Lol
90s music is great!
Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun"
The 90s truly were a transitional time in general, and the music reflects it. Lots of sampling with hip hop and pop music for a whole new generation. And it’s crazy to see a lot of these beats come back into new songs. Love it!
To me it was all about British guitar bands, and the Spice Girls
I loved it all… it’s fun to reminisce those days. I preferred the 90s grunge movement but I had my pop guilty pleasures. This was one of them 😊
Everything was hot in the 90s. All genres from Ska to Nature songs. Even Benectine Monk Chants had a hit song
Even swing music was popular around 1999, seriously where tf did that come from?
@@richarddukard8989 Swing? Am I the only one who remembers the Cherry Poppin' Daddies? Zoot Suit Riot?
I Love "Len." This group or duet are so entertaining.......They still play this song in the dance clubs!!!!
I live on the beach in Florida. Summer of '99 you could hear this song everywhere. On the boat, playing volleyball, laying on the beach, night parties on the beach, on the radio in surf shops -- 24 years later & its still a vibe.
Ahh…1999 serving on a US Submarine this was our theme song 🎉😂❤
One of the best Summer songs ever!
Love and Rockets spans 80's and 90's and even now! Every album is different and unique.
Finally....guys. A hit song! I was startin to wonder bout ya. Glad to be back wit ya and lettin ya know this is the kinda rock we like. Peace. Later, I guess. We love you two, lots. This is a favorite from the era. Wicked cool song.
80s born in a small "town", so we were behind on a lot of things. I remember this from college when I moved in August 1999 ❤
One of my favorite 90s songs. Thanks for exploring it.
This was filmed in my town Daytona Beach. 😊
What a Great time we had in the 90s!!!! So much fun!!’ Semi Charmed Life next 3rd Eye Blind!
no they cant handle that
I enjoy this song, and I've been hearing it a lot lately! It's a smile- inducer. Thanks for the great video I'd never seen! 72 and loving timeless gift of music.
This was a huge hit when I was a teenager! I don’t think I had any of the lyrics right when I used to sing along! 😂 Such a weird and wonderful 90s vibe!
You guys still need to check out the band “Take That”…they only had one big hit in the U.S. but we’re huge in the U.K. During the early 90’s and later they reunited in the 2000s.
“Back For Good” was their biggest hit stateside in 1995. Also, please check out Robbie Williams! He was a member of Take That and went solo, his song “Angels” is still amazing. Also, “Millennium” ❤
Spring Break Daytona Beach where I grew up. 90s Rock
This is one of the best one hit wonders from the 90’s.
If this is one of the best the 90's can offer, well that says everything about that decade of music...would have never been played in the 60s,70s, 80s.
Wow, its almost like musical preferences change over time, who would have thought! @@johnalan11
Another classic late '90s one hit wonder is You get what you give by new radicals
This song has always been fun as hell and one of those you don't get tired of hearing.
Both of my boys were born in the 90s. My first son, the song playing on the radio was Lightning crashes by LIVE. And the next year was my youngest boy, his song was len Steal my Sunshine. I loved it. Such a light song amidst a grunge era. So my sons I call my heart and my joy. Thanks for reacting to this joyful song😁
80s & 90s music is just the best! They definitely don’t make music like this anymore ❤
They do, and I am really enjoying it. Start with Silvertwin and Young Gun Silver Fox
I was born in 1955. I love this song!
90s suggestions:
“Hey man, nice shot” Filter
“Tomorrow” Silverchair
“What would you say” DMB
I could go on… and on… feel free to add! ❤
Im from Daytona Beach & this was filmed there. The pictures of the beach is what it was like, especially Spring Break. It was the MTV era in the
80´s & 90’s! Too many crazy times. It’s sad that the beach & Daytona in general look nothing like this any longer.
That catchy instrumental hook under the opening lyrics is an expansion of an instrumental break from the disco era song, "More More More" by Andrea True. Might be worth reacting to it. It is quintessentially disco until you hit that break. And then it's over and you're back to the disco. 2:20 to 2:30 into the song.
This could be so 90s and '00s ! 😊
Musically and dress style. This came out in 1999! Lol. Its on the cusp.
Once he started singing, I Hella remember this.. damn i feel old now ..
Love this song!! Hella catchy and will stick in your head FOR DAYS. ❤
I love Jay’s smile when he’s really enjoying a song.
Currently this song is all over on tv and radio in commercials
This was filmed in my home town, Daytona Beach. I was stationed overseas in Asia when I saw it on far east MTV. It was a home sick moment.
Ya'll need to listen to The Barenaked Ladies "Brian Wilson" for more 90's music goodness
This is pure nostalgia for me. It takes me back to a simpler time. I think this came out in 99 and US Women's Soccer team used this as their theme. That was when the US Women won the world cup for the first time. The 90s was great, I was born in 87, but the 90s were a great time to grow up in.
Oh wow this takes me back - instant mood lifter!
I LOVE this song! This is a fun band. I was lucky enough to see them live in the summer of ‘99
There it was...their one hit wonder. It was a true earwig that would get stuck in your head all day. It got equal love and hate because of the mix of genres we had blowing up the 90s.
great song and great review.....another really catchy 90s song is "The You and Me Song" by the Wannadies. Also "Every day should be a holiday" by the Dandy Warhols....both super, super fun and catchy.
I'd give my vote to "Bohemian Like You" by the Dandy Warhols. Just really cements that 1990's feel of of "alternative" (now probably seen as "hipster") culture.
One of my favorite songs.. I love the girls voice.
Born in 1986 here, this is definitely my era. Everything was simpler before smartphones/social services, we barely had the internet in 1999. We were really free and enjoying every part of our childhood most of the time playing outside until dawn with our friends, the best decade ever!
Filmed in the world famous Daytona Beach, Florida! They basically blew the entire video budget on booze.
Do Get What You Give by New Radicals. I bet you all would like that one.
I love hearing an old song and then think I wonder if these two have listened to it yet. There is a good day when I find a reaction to a good jam from you guys.
The 80s and 90s were the absolute best decades of music…. Born in 1984 and raised in the 90s
J&A, y'all love those one-hit wonders!!
Not even a hit in the US. Getting ridiculous.
@@blackblake3658 reached #9 in the US, but lots of 1-2 hit artists for sure.
@@blackblake3658Define “hit”. It was Top 10 and was played constantly. Since then it has still popped up very often. It is an icon of the 90’s.
This came out in the summer of '99 yall. Lol😅 on the cusp. Moreso a '00s song.
@@NOLAgenX Ok. Did better than I thought. But man they pass up people with multiple hits No. 1 hits like Toni Braxton. To have been a reaction channel for nearly two years and NEVER done Toni Braxton. Only four Earth Wind and Fire? No Boyz II Men. One Jackson 5?
No Doubt - Just a Girl is a total 90's vibe! You should give that one a reaction! ❤
This song is soooo nostalgic to me. The summer of 1999. 1999/2000... My final year of high school. Grade 13, aka OAC. These days there's no more grade 13, and my high school was replaced with a Walmart Supercenter.
This song contains a sampled riff of a '70's disco classic, "More, More, More" by the Andrea True Connection!
Such an upbeat & catchy song😊 Takes me back to when my siblings & I (3 bros 1 sis) were young riding around w/big bro, getting into sum sort of shenanigans!! This definitely was part of our playlist❤
Guys try wall of voodoo- Mexican radio… classic
Oh yes! That'd be a great one to do.
Wall of Voodoo's lead singer at the time was Stan Ridgway, who had another huge hit with a song called Camouflage! Also worth a listen.
NEVER thought anyone would react to this song. Killer song.
The lead singer has the most infectious smile and seems like the brother you wish you had!
Canada produced a lot of great music alone in the late 90s/early 2000s. It wasn’t all teen pop. Very little of it was, actually. Amanda Marshall was the unsung hero of the late 90s in Canada. Let It Rain, Birmingham, I Believe In You and If I Didn’t Have You are certified soul/rock power bangers. She’s biracial from Ontario and just made a comeback recently. Pick one of her live performances from the 90s. You won’t regret it.
Birmingham is an AMAZING song. Excellent.
Len's "Steal My Sunshine" was the only single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 from this Canadian group, peaking @ #9 in 1999. The song was featured in the movie "Go" directed by Doug Liman starring an ensemble of young actors featuring Katie Holmes, Sarah Polley & Timothy Olyphant. The "Steal My Sunshine" musical hooks are sampled from the 1976 disco/pop crossover hit by Andrea True Connection "More, More, More" ( Hot 100 = #4/ Disco = #2; R&B = #23).
used to feel bad about liking this song. Now I embrace it and make the most out of it when it come on. Great song!
Every decade had it's up and downs, even in music. The best way I can describe the 90's is that everything had been roughed up, but not due to a lack of care or interest, but instead of loving use, and it's that loving use that helped guide the art of the decade to continue to push for the perfection of art that people were already trying to make in the 80's. Sadly some people boiled that perfection down to a cold heartless math by the early 2000's and that's when things started to sour. There are still great artists out there, still making great things, but no where near as often any more. The math ruined it all.
You guys want some 90's BOP... then do "Hanson-MMMBop" lol... it's a group of three young brothers. It's fun.. but be careful... that song will get stuck in your head!! lmao

Jay would Love "The Distance" by CAKE, the perfect driving song.
This song is such a vibe. Love it!
The Jones Girls - "Who Can I Run To" (1979). Excellent vocals and harmony. Great music arrangement. Classic.
Next listen to More More More by Andrea True Connection.

LFO- Summer Girls
Yes, another one that I hated myself for liking!
Love this song! You guys picked some good ones tonight! ❤
Once you hear this song, it never escapes. At least it’s an earworm worthy to listen to.
I was 29 years old when this song came out. Great vibes, good times.
Great song... actually, this album is all good... strange but great tunes! One of my favorite from the 90s.
Probably the most catchy song of the 90s is Lou Bega "Mambo no.5" It will have you dancing 💃 from beginning to end.
hated it
Such a fun 90's song. Takes me back to my college days. Loved that time. Thanks for the great reaction!
One of the best songs! It will be rolling around in your brain for a while… my girls loved this song when they were little in the 90’s. 💕
The version of this I liked included random snippets of dialogue that added a lot of charm.
Who could forget "KAREN, I LOVE YOU"?
Omg, I was waiting for that part and started questioning my sanity of remembering the right song when it didn't play. Thank you! I thought I was going nuts!
To this day, when someone tells me that someone else seems "kinda down", I always ask if they like butter tarts.
"Sharon, I love you." It's in reference to Sharon Costanzo, the singer in Len.
EVERYTHING - "Hooch"
1 hit wonder, but catchy & great!
90’s kid, here. I went to high school and college in that decade. So many sub genres. There’s something for everybody. Thanks for listening to these songs-very nostalgic for me! 💕
Another 90s Canadian band with a similar "sunny LA" feel to one of their hits was Bran Van 3000, "Drinking in LA". Give it an ear.
