The screen wobble is by design and I can confirm the 3rd xls has it too. Apparently, perfectly tight ones in older original versions were cracking hinges.

They both can be wobbly, but the 2DS XL from my experience had way more wobble over the 3DS XL
Nintendo ending the eshop causes nothing but trouble. Not only for games that demand triple digit prices, but also games with DLC, so now the DLC is lost.
Yes! The only reason apart form the server cost from Nintendo side is that hey plan on releasing some of the games in the Nintendo Online subscription (my guess)
@@ilya_played Given Nintendo's track record, only a handful of games get moved over to the new systems. But with the Switch reaching it's likely last years of shelf life, I seriously wonder how soon the Switch will be shut down.

For the switch, I don't know. The console is still selling, games too. I think they will release Switch "pro" with better internals. That would be the only logical move.
I think they should bring the Nintendo DS back out I don't think they should have ever gotten rid of it
@@user-rw6kf1er5b but now the switch is a handheld and overkill while being their niche isn't the move. They don't compete against themselves for 3rd. They left the actual console wars for 3rd because they've always been THE handheld console. The 3DS was more popular than a portable playstation. So idk the Gameboy had it's run, the DS had it's run, it's time to switch it up!
Ive had the 3DS XL since launch. I am absolutely blown away with how expensive they are now, I feel fortunate to still have mine. Its in very good condition with only some minor scratches.
Keep it safe and don't forget to charge it once in a while to keep battery good !

Same, I've had my new 3DS XL since 2017, the same year the Switch lauched, and while at the time I did regret getting the system over the Switch, years later after digging the system up again I am so glad I never got rid of it since because the processors on the new 3DS systems were so much better over the ones found in previous models, it made it a joy to homebrew my system and basically have the chance to play every DS game I never got the chance to play as a kid
bought my 2ds xl for 100$ from Nintendo when they were clearing their stock :) my favorite thing about the 2ds xl that i recently discovered is that when you open it up it lays completely flat making it literally a xl 2ds. :)
Bought one lightly used, in the box with a copy of Link BetweenWorlds for $65 on offer up years ago. Modded it and have used the hell out of it. Also picked up a refurb from Nintendo to keep as a backup.
That was a steal of the price for sure.

I got my N2DSXL last November for about 120 dollars, came in mint condition, sealed and all. Aboslutely not disappointed with it, although I did buy a shell for it to deal with the flimsy feeling. Now the only NewDSXL's I can see for that price look like they've been dropped from a moving car!
It is crazy how rare and expensive the NewDSXL line has become in only the last few months. If it were just 6 months ago I'd whole heartedly recommend picking one of these up, but now someone getting into the 3DS family will have to do serious hunting :(

To be honest, I don't think they are rare. The market dictates the price and no one wants to sell cheaper than they see online. Also youtubers hype up the console, so it gets even more expensive

You were very lucky. I sold my pristine condition consoles back when the Switch was coming out and for dirt cheap. This year wanting to relieve old memories I bought new, sealed pokeball N2DSXL for around 370 dollars and N3DS regular white for around 450 dollars. It is great experience to get these new but for the price of Switch Oled...this is crazy. I am using both consoles so value can say already dropped 35% at least but I don't care. I do not think either that these will be valued less in 5 years from now, rather opposite unless Nintendos Switch 2 will have 2 screens and Online Pass running old DS titles (which I wouldnt mind anyway haha).
I'm glad that I got my New 2DS XL (Special Pokéball Edition) for Christmas 2017.

These prices are only the beginning. It hasn't even been a year since the eshop closed.
Had my New 3DS LL sit around for a while and I finally modded it a few months back and it’s definitely a game changer. Natively running 3DS/DS/GBA/GBC/GB games, I’ve had zero issues with it. I never had an NES/SNE/N64 growing up, so I don’t think I’d be missing about by not trying to emulate them, but for PSP emulation, I think I have my eyes on a Vita next.
Some of the options for emulation (Anbernic, Retroid, etc etc) seem to require some tinkering to get the frames at a good rate to run. My only concern with the Vita is the age and how soon I’d need to crack it open to replace the battery

For the Vita, I just made a video ! Feel free to check it out. It is for sure great device. According to iFix it, the battery replacement shouldn't be hard. So I wouldn't worry about it

I think that those whacko emulation handhelds or even retro gaming pc’s , take away part of the fun in my opinion. Mostly because they tend to fall heavily on the side of piracy .

This was really helpful, I've had a lot of purchasing anxiety around the 2DS XL. I've been seeing ads for the handhelds, but when I would follow the links, they were hundreds of dollars 😵💫 There are alot of games I wanted to play that were only on those systems, but this gave me alot to think about and gave me some clarity. 😌

hb’d my 2dsxl about a month ago after buying it in 2017. it’s worked fine for all 6ish years that i’ve owned this console. i love it so much, and it is my favorite console. if you can find a japanese one for cheap, homebrew it and change the region, and you have a great console.

i spent 150 euros for a old 3ds xl, and yesterday ive spent 250euros for a pokéball 2ds xl edition, both are literally new, just charged to not let the battery die and i'm so proud of having them

Bought myself N2DS XL few weeks ago, and yeah, i guess n3dsxl would be better. But i got mine in not that bad condition for 150$ and feel happy.
Also, talking about emulating games, no one talks 'bout PS1, haven't tried a lot yet, but some games work good.

For the PS1 emulation, I guess people are using PS Vita more. 2DS/3DS have several games from PS1 that run poorly.
The only game I am really interested in playing on my 2ds (non NEW) is Castlevania SOTN. Would this play badly?

got mine a couple of years ago for €75 and it came with mario 3d world, I modded it and its great for road trips.
I love my 3DS, but I wouldn't buy a new one nowadays. The prices I've seen for some of them are literally the price I paid for both my system AND the capture card mod it has. Only real issue is that there's not really a cool handheld emulation system with 2 screens, that's the main reason I'll be holding on to mine. The games don't feel the same without it.

Yeah, I tried to do a bit of research, but it is still emulation, which might bring some problems. However I feel like it is still a better option if someone is looking in to playing games other than DS games
@@ilya_played Despite owning a good amount of the Nintendo consoles, I use my steam deck to emulate literally everything else as I had how much space having multiple devices takes up. So far it hasn't really impacted my experience, through things like parsec and net play you can even run multiplayer on emulators.
@@Sizzyl Steam Deck is an amazing device. I haven't emulated much on it yet, but I'm sure it can handle ton of consoles without any issue

I had gotten my N2ds XL from GameStop back in 2021 and it was prestine like it looked brand new at that time.
You snatched a nugget. I saw so many horror stories about gamestop refurbished consoles being in a very bad shape

If you were ever wanting to get a 3DS system, out of any system to avoid the 2DS XL is up there at number 1, not only is the system some how more uncomfortable to hold over every other 3DS system, but it feels super cheap, and flimsy when using it, the hinges on the sides are really loose, and while that may be to the systems benefit since it won't be gaining to much strain on the hinges by doing this, it makes it super jiggly when playing and doesn't make the system feel solid, also this system was notorious for get the screen smudge and even in some cases cracked if you put a minor amount of pressure for a period of time, this js in part due to Nintendo thinking it was a good idea to decrease the width and thickness of the screen, because the screen is a lot closer to the shell of the system it now has this added problem where it can be super fragile if breathed on wrong

@Peachlessjams no problem! I do recommend getting a plastic shell from Ali or Amazon to save it from scratches if you take it outside. A hardshell case is also an option

I've had a couple 3ds systems and all of them had that shake sadly
I guess that is build quality then. Someone mentioned in the comments that it is done on purpose so the hinge is not easily cracked
I bought mine before I saw this vid bro and my R button started touching it self it eventually stopped completely and I’m happy I’m in love with mine and I modded it as well
That's a shame about the R button. I saw a couple of videos on how to fix it, but it is not a quick process.

For sure, many people got a spare one just to keep it safe. But if your 3dsxl works, that's good. The only thing I recommend is to get a spare replacement battery
I live in Germany and the used prizes are still rather normal. Sure, I see some people trying to sell the New 3DS XL for 250 or 300 €. But on the other hand there are still loads of options for 100 € or less, especially parents who sell the consoles of their kids to buy a switch or something. I could right now pick up a NEW 2DS XL for 70 € or a NEW 3DS XL for 90 €. I sold my new 3ds xl for 130 € about 2 years ago bought my new 3ds I use right now for 75 € in December and I absolutely love it. And my girlfriend got a regular 2DS for Christmas and it was 45 € including Pokemon Moon and 5 other games. And for this amount of money, the 3DS line still is absolutely worth buying, especially when you mod it and use it for DS and stuff. I'm glad I'm back to the smaller New 3DS, it's very portable and I have my whole game library always with me.
That are not bad prices ! For sure the best deal is from parents who sell off old consoles and don't do much of a market research.
And even the 2ds for 45 Euro with 6 games is amazing !

I bought the Zelda shield Edition and I got rid of it, I watched a teardown video and the video showed that the battery is glued to the inside of the case it's not meant to be replaced or removed but in every other model the battery can be swapped out easily
That is crazy ! It looks like the outer casing is only different. What was the point of using glue ?? Considering that Nintendo still sell replacement batteries, that was a strange decision from them.
@@ilya_played maybe it had something to do with everyone hacking their system I know Sony did it with the last version of their PSP the E1000 or psp street which only came out in Europe it had no Wi-Fi or Ad-Hoc and the battery was not removable it was a budget PSP
@@PSVitaFan It could be, but Street was purposely made to be cheaper. When any "edition" console is made for biggest fans of the specific franchise, so at least it should be same in terms of reparability as a regular console
the 2DS is unironically the better choice 😂. Also get the “new” 3DS if you want improved specs and customizable face-plates or the XL variant for the bigger screen size, not sure why Nintendo thought the 2DS XL was a good idea…

I just bought me a old Nintendo 3ds XL in 2023 I wish I didn’t sold my old 3ds XL back in a days I hella miss my old games but I’m happy and I got Lucky to find one at the store and I got to play some of my favorite old time games like Pokémon Ultra sun and moon, Metroid Samus Return, Resident Evil Revelations and Paper Mario and Mario 3d land and Zelda’s games and I love it how this games play in 3D so for me it’s Worth it I don’t care for eshop close as long I play this games 😅 3ds XL or 2Ds XL are very hard to find this anywhere in store
impulse bought 4 3ds LL recently one is the super Famicom model, hope that it's as clean as it looks in photos.
I only play with 3D on at full I love 3D wish Nintendo would make more 3ds like a 3ds 2 or a new new 3ds.

I actually like the way the 2ds XL looks like. I like the black and blue colors. I bought one on clearance at Walmart for like $80 years ago and I barely touched it for years. I finally got around to playing on it again and I fell in love years later! I have big hands so it got uncomfortable so I got a grip case and it's amazing! It's a shame the prices have gone up like that. 😬
I bought 2ds XL japan version with box & charger , yellow color, rare one..for 170 euros. I like it, im playing mario games that i missed :D

What I do like about Nintendo ds Xl you can use it anywhere you don't need WiFi
i got myself a new 3ds xl, i modded it. Got the hShop, put in a 150gb sd card and have tons of games loaded into it ! Crazy Good !

Soooo glad i bought mine a year ago (refurbished). Planning on modding it tomorrow or the day after when my card reader arrives. Not updating to the latest update yet due to Nintendo being a pain in the 🍑..

Bought my 2ds xl for € 89,- in 2018 and still very happy with it ! Glad I always buy my games psychical. Same goes for the switch all nintendo titles i have , I have the cartridges. Only titles like witcher as digital content
I got my New (generation) 3ds non LL from Japan with mario bros for ds lite. It was like $115 usd after taxes and important. I eventually removed region lock. Importing older consoles can make more sense if you can find the right deal.

I won't say I dislike your video or anything. I have a 2ds xl, which I bought a few months before it was discontinued. And I bought it exactly because the price was cheap. So, I perfectly understand your argument that for the current price asked on second hand market, 3ds xl is a better choice. Yes, indeed. If I were to lose my 2ds xl due to my clumsiness (almost lost it once because of a fall) or because of another reason, and if switches are still as scandalously expensive as now, I'd go for a used 3ds xl instead. But for the moment, I try to take care of my 2ds xl. And I must add that my soul is not clean. It never was.
That's great that you bought it before it was discontinued for a good price. I heard rumors of a new Nintendo console being on a horizon, so switch might be lowered in price. However, I'm not sure if the first party titles will go on sales much.
In terms of your 2dsxl , an advice I can give you is to get a screen protector for a bottom screen and don't leave it discharged for a long time
Got my 2ds xl a month ago, for $140. Came with 3 games and oem charger. The 2ds xl's are going for $200+ in my area, just the console. Id like to think that I got lucky

there's no reason at all not to hack your 3ds at this point as the online store is gone and the only way to find games is through 2nd hand products, not always an easy task.
i have mine for 4 years and still use it almost daily. It's a great device for quick gaming sessions that only Switch lite can rival, due to its smaller form factor compared to the regular switch.

@@ilya_played Most Nintendo games are a must, bar the Pokemon ones, those are a bit too long for my taste and i was never into Pokemon anyway.
I've been playing text based games like Professor Layton and the Ace Attorney series as well, but there are tons of good platform games like Gunman Clive, Kirby, and some indie ones.
And of course, if you can get your hands on a R4 card, then you'll have the whole NDS catalog available as well..
I intend on making the jump for a Switch Lite, but i don't think i'll leave the 3DS for good anytime soon, there are just too many good things to play there and as i said, it's easy to fit playing it between other things because it's so pratical and quick to use it compared to regular consoles.
Got mine for $234 with acnl, mario 64, and the cooking mama series. Has a teensy bit og backlight bleed but i love it and it works well without problems

butemulating 3ds and ds specific games does not get any better than just playing it on the original hardware. It makes complete sense why the price went up especially after eshop closure now. Also every 3DS xl wobbles just like your 2DSXL does , its normal
For sure DS consoles are the best to play DS games. Many people are saying that it is also best for emulating other consoles. However if your main goal is to emulate something else other than DS it is better to get something else
I was actually thinking about how it’s crazy to see that the 2ds xl seem to be more expensive than the old 3ds xl considering my friends always didn’t recommend that console because of the build quality (back in 2020 when they announced they weren’t going to manufacture anymore I was taking advice on which console to get- but couldn’t afford any) I’m really glad I waited and I feel super lucky to have been able to get the acnl pattern old 3ds LL (which was my dream console for the longest time) from Japan with original box for around $160. Not only that, the console is in amazing shape. I learned how to mod my DSi so I felt confident enough to mod a 3ds, since that was the only way I could play my usa games. Long tangent aside, as a big Nintendo fan it’s sad to see how expensive the consoles are getting, but I guess that’s just the way the market can be.
Your friends were right ! On paper New 2DS xl has a better chip and amibo support, however for most of the people the regular 3DS and 3DS XL is a better choice than New 2DS XL.

I completely disagree.
The only real advantage the old 3DS has over the New 2DS is the 3d effect, which most people won't use much beyond initial novelty.
The New 2DS has the second analog stick, which is a must for many games (the regular old 3ds has a peripheral for that, which as far as I know was never released for any other version, including the 3ds xl), and the more powerful chipset means it can run games the others could not, and has better performance overall.
Im so mad, the 3DS XL I've had since 5th grade broke not too long ago and now I have nothing to play 3ds games on. I'm stuck either paying an exorbitant price for a new 3ds or just not having a 3ds anymore :(
That's a shame. Look on the local Facebook marketplace or just a thrift store, sometimes people get lucky finds for cheap
I found one on Mercari for 150, if you look for the new 3DS XL specifically over the 2ds XL you'll find better prices ppl have been pricing the 2ds at like 200 up but I saw a lot of 3ds xls at 150-175
Regarding your Video and the 2/3DS - I myself use a New 3DS, got a New 2DS XL (Pokeball Edition) and my GF has the New 3DS XL, so I can cross reference some of the consoles a bit.
The Build Quality on the N2DS is ... bad. The Plastic feels cheap (and is already cracking), this especially doesn't help if you have to open the console for repairs or a battery replacement.
Also, the two halves of the console are not just screwed together, but also clipped together quite tightly, which makes opening it rather nervewracking.
The Top Shell is also glued to the console, so have fun replacing the top screen.
And the most infuriating part? The Battery in itself is the same one as in the N3DSXL - but its glued to the Mainboard of the console unnecessarily. Removing it felt like that either the Battery or the PCB breaks.
The N3DSXL already feels kinda "toy-ish" compared to the N3DS in my opinion, but the N2DS feels like a McDonalds Toy material wise.
Also, "pirating" the 3DS Games, which are not being sold by Nintendo themselves anymore, is more or less a Grey Area and it's not straight illegal. The legality depends on where you live and what exactly you do.
In my Country (Germany), it's fine to download and use pirated games (of any kind, even new AAA ones) for yourself, but you're not allowed to share/upload them (like via a Torrent or simply putting them on your Discord/Mediafire/Google Drive).

For sure the quality of plastic is mediocre in 2dsxl. I haven't seen the n3ds and n3dsxl in a while co compare specifically those two, but I do remember them being a bit better than 2dsxl.
For the pirating, it is for sure grey area. In any case Nintendo or developers will not get money from a used market, so it is more of a psychological thing. And thank you for sharing the German laws, it is always good to know! In Canada I haven't recieved any letters in regard to game downloading (at least for now 😅)
@@ilya_played I think Canada handles it in a similar way Germany, the EU or generally most western Countries do. As long as you dont share those games you should be fine. I think the "worst" that could happen would be a Nintendo Lawyer copyright claiming your Video, if you use emulated/pirated games.
The Fan Letters people got were also because they used Torrents, as they both download and upload the desired Files at the same time.
Well everyone is looking at the new 3ds xl from us if you get the new 3ds from Eu you can play Eu versions of the games same with the Japanese and Japanese 3ds
The Japanese versions are the cheapest ones. If you homebrew, you can remove the region lock if you still wish to use cartridges. However I can see that prices are getting higher for all of the regions and I'm sure they will not get lower
Imo a a Microsoft Surface Duo is the definitive way to play DS games. You can get one for around the same price as a new 3ds xl too

3ds xl or new 3ds xl I think are the best. 2ds is shockingly ergonomic .
I have 2x New 3DSXL, 1x 2DS and 1 x New 2DSXL. It is my favourite console ever, I play everyday (I own a switch too by the way) and my daughters (7 and 4) love them.
I am planning to buy another New #DSXL for spare parts in the future and probably a New 3DS.

@@ilya_played Definitely the N3DSXL because I was lucky enough to get an upper IPS and the N2DSXL is TN and the N3DSXL has an easy to replace battery.
It doesn't matter to me , My new 3ds XL galaxy version is in his prime and I play with it everyday 10/10 . I trow away the box back then yes i was a fool . if you find one don't doubt and buy it , you wont regret :)
I got my N2DS XL at Classic Game Fest in Austin. 300 bucks wasn't a bad deal, It's not cheap but I'd rather spend 300 flat in public rather than spend almost 500 (plus shipping) with a possible chance of getting scammed. I have the Minecraft LL version,on April 2023 for the price 200$,oh sh*t.It's too much for me,and then I hear about the hinge of that Minecraft edition.It's easily to crack,I'm so fking scared but It still ok.I hope that hinge will still be fine for 4 years

How are 3ds and 2ds so expensive! I bought mine used like 3 years ago for like 600zł (like 145usd) and where i bought it there was also a 2ds for 450 zł (about 110usd) these prices are crazy.

Just bought my first DS in the New 2DS XL. It’s smaller for my hands, has the same process, is backwards compatible with the DS games and NO 3D! I’ve never been a fan of 3D period and spending extra 100 for a bulkier, 3D effect that ik I won’t use is pointless. I owned a DS a long time ago but it broke and I walked away from Nintendo till 2018 and bought a Switch because at the time of the DS all my friends weren’t playing Mario, Smash, Zelda, Mario Party and Metroid. I don’t regret buying a New 2DS XL in late 2023 because I missed out on a lot of games and it’s hard to enjoy Nintendo when they treat their older franchises like crap on newer devices which leads to piracy which I am against but it’s hard not to now a days.

2ds xl is awsome man XD modded it can play anything but i mainly use as a dragon quest machine XD. its lighter then 3ds xl. but i also got it pre boom. i bought mine refurbished in perfect condition then a year later the price was atleast 2x

A new Retroid Pocket 3+ is 149 US. That is same as the lowest price of a good 2DS XL. However it is more powerful, has type C and better emulation of other consoles. So if you want to play exclusively DS games, for sure it is better to get 2DS or 3DS. But if you are looking in to emulating other consoles, it is better to get Retroid.
All of the consoles I listed as alternatives are in the price range of used DS lineup. But they are the best, so you have freedom of picking a cheeper console
The 2DS is best option to get it has no hinge which happens to break and it's easier to take apart for repairs.
For sure the 2DS durability is better in comparison with clamshell design. I was always interested how easy is to press the R L buttons as they are located on top of the console
I think you should buy by preference. You want a GBA, DS, 3DS or Switch go buy whatever. You need to shop around to get later systems at a reasonable price. Nintendo's IPs will never disappoint.

Downloading a ROM is illegal regardless of whether you own a cartridge for that game or not. And if you already have a hacked 3DS to dump carts, what's the point of playing those games on anything else when there is simply no other dual-screen device on the market that can replicate the DS and 3DS experience properly?
Homebrewing 3ds is a blurry thing, I don't think it is illegal. Downloading ROMs is illegal, that's why I'm saying that if you make your own ROM and don't distribute, it might be "less illegal" I'm in no way a lawyer, so don't know the exact laws.
The reason why you want to play on other console or a phone is completely up to a person. Probably Ayaneo Flip will be the first device that can emulate DS well enough, but I've seen people with Galaxy Folds emulating 3DS games.
At the end, promoting piracy is bad, that's why I did specify this in the video. FYI big N is notorious for copyright striking if pirating is mentioned in the video, so it is a precaution too.

I'm not sure how you're going about emulating on the N2DS XL, but you really shouldn't be having any issues with any of the consoles that it's able to handle. GB/GBC/GBA/NES/SNES/Genesis should all run flawlessly because you can run all of them through the Virtual Console. I see that you have Twilight Menu++ installed, so I'm assuming that you're using that for all your emulation purposes, which you should NOT be doing. Twilight Menu++ on 3DS is really only good for NDS games. The built in emulators for other consoles do definitely struggle at times, but you don't have to use Twilight Menu++. You can just use a program on your PC called New Super Ultimate Injector Tool for 3DS to create a .cia file for each rom, launch it from your home screen, and run it through the Virtual Console with zero performance issues.
The 3DS may not be able to emulate things like PS1 or Dreamcast very well, or at all, but it emulates all Nintendo handheld consoles and even some older home consoles excellently. So saying that emulation in general is bad on the console is not accurate. You just have to do your research, like with any other emulation. The 3DS is quite literally the only proper way to emulate NDS games because of the dual screens, and the NDS game library is huge with some amazing titles.
I whole heartedly agree that the prices for these things has gotten completely out of control though. $300 for a console that has been discontinued for years now, but isn't old enough to be considered retro yet, is ludicrous. It's can emulate all Nintendo handhelds though, the pandemic definitely didn't help the prices, and Nintendo closing down the eShop was the final nail in the coffin. Sadly, I don't see the prices for these going down any time soon because people are still buying them.

In terms of the NDS emulation on the 2/3DS of course it is the only proper way to do it! I was hoping that Retroid Flip would have 2 screens, but unfortunately it doesn't.
I might have generalized a bit too much for the emulation, as for sure the ds games run flawlessly on 2/3DS.

And the prices are crazy. I remember Switch prices too during the pandemic and people were selling used consoles for 500 CAD.
Unfortunately we will not get any more 3DS consoles so the price will only get worse, so I'm sure if someone wants to have it even for a collection, it is better to get as soon as possible. But if someone decides on buying a "retro emulation" console, I would personally recommend something else. (But it is a personal preference)
From what I've heard and seen the new 3ds at least can emulate ps1 decently well, but many people ride it off since they either got something wrong/ don't wanna optimize or they haven't checked out the latest versions

If I had to pick 1 game out of all of them to recommend, it would definitely be The World Ends With You for the NDS. That is still my all time favorite game, no question, to this day. My 3DS home screen actually has a theme for it too. :)

If you're playing retro games on the new3ds family and it's bad emulation, then you're doing something wrong. The new3ds consoles are the Premier handhelds for retro nintendo ROM emulation. I'm assuming you're just using retroarch
I did experience with multiple ways of emulation including MGBA and GPSP cores (The first one doesn't work great).
But you are right for the nintendo rom emulation. Most of it runs well. I did have some other problems with SNES. I guess I might need to spend a bit more time tweaking
@ilya_played Were you using Retroarch? The 3ds port of Retroarch is infamously terrible and is the worst way possible to emulate games on the 3ds. Standalone emulators or Virtual Console injects are the way to go.
eh, not sure fam. From a guy who has had one since its inception, the 2DS XL is a solid little machine and with certain "shop" alternatives, it has some really awesome new life. Not only that, but 3D for me was a gimmick i never got into. That is to say, its not a bad gimmick, there are some people who die by the 3D aspect but I'm in the rare camp of "

The prices are a hard part to circumvent though, I have to be honest, mine only cost me 100 bucks new when I got it at bestbuy, so yeah, finding it cheap now is gonna be hard. ALL in all, though, the console is pretty solid and I play games like Megaman X the SNES version, Gameboy games, and other titles aside from core 3DS titles and they run really well.

For the 3D, I did hear that many people use it only for a couple of min and then turn it off, so you are not alone in that :D
I do agree about GB games, SNES and other Nintendo titles. I just can't justify the current prices. It is too hard to recommend unless you are specifically looking in to those games

Tried it. Materials and texture make it feel cheap, and it is too light so it just feels hollow. Worst model by far.

So I went to the retro games store and I saw a Pokémon 3ds XL Pokémon and they were selling it for 350.00 I’m like that’s too much 😔 so I went to Gamestop like an Hour away and I ask this guy if they got any 3ds XL and when he shows and told me he got one I taught it looks dirty and little scratch up outside like maybe 4 scratch and the inside when you open the 3ds it looks totally brand new no scratch on screen top and bottom and when I saw the screen looks smuggled dirty so I was like do I buy it 😂 but the price was 180.00 but I take my chances of getting it and when I got home and clean the screen my 3ds XL looks like a Brand New 3ds XL and I check everything buttons and the Battery 🪫works and I am sooooo Happy that everything works fine
