Gibson SG Special 1974 w. mini humbuckers presented by Vintage Guitar Oldenburg and Tobias Hoffmann

- Vintage Guitar Oldenburg and Tobias Hoffmann present a Gibson SG Special w. mini humbuckers from 1974, more infos at: www.vintage-gui... The guitar shown was played through a Fender Vibrolux from 1962 and recorded with a Shure SM57 (left) and a Sennheiser 409 (right) . The backing tracks were recorded into a Line6 DL4 looper on the same instrument right before the recording of each video. We used the Vemuram Jan Ray Pedal and a Vemuram Shanks 4k for overdrive sounds. Tobias Hoffmann is a award winning guitar player from cologne, germany. He combines the sounds of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Surf and some experimental stuff. Check him out:

What tones… holy MOLY
I am the original owner of this exact same guitar and agree it's clean tones are very different from an SG standard. It's also a serious Rocker that works well with distortion. Got it for my 14th birthday! Thanks mom and dad!!
That's a kickass gift, very tasteful gutiar with those mini hums.
I have one of these, a 73 or 74 depending on who you ask or where you look, and they are light, beautiful, graceful and sound wonderful. The mini humbuckers are extremely versitile. I just love the neck postion pickup sound. So smooth and mellow. Incredibly comfortable guitar. I've had it sinced 1978 and will never part with it!
When I hear this kind of playing, my mind just melts away with the gorgeous tone.

Very unique sound. It’s difficult to get this sound on the other guitars. We can find the latest Gibson SGs with mini humbacker, but its sound is not like this. Thank you for nice video.

I have a 73 that was a bit hacked up by the previous owner (minis replaced with regular sized dimarzios and a few other things). It's the best feeling guitar I own/have played. 73s have a really great fat neck--if you can find one scoop it up (even if it is a bit mangled)!
Have a 73 in the mail. Really wondering if I should be shopping for the mini humbuckers to put back in. Sounds amazing
