    Hi AJA thanks again for another really helpful video of you sharing what's so clearly one of your loves in life and sharing that knowledge to us.
    I commented on a recent video of yours about having $1000 to spend on setting myself up to start target and once confidence has improved I will begin hunting.
    You got right back to me and I was so grateful.
    AJA I've watched big names talk on both podcast and RUclips and you are as helpful if not more to me than anyone else.
    I hope all good things come your way.
    Your love for the sport is evident & inspirational mate.
    I still haven't spent my hard saved $1000 yet on my Hoyt Its hard here in Australia AJA as we have so little archery stores here
    So choosing my 1st Nice one will be great.
    Any ideas AJA would be so much appreciated but it's ok I can imagine that you are pretty busy.
    Thankyou so much once,and thankyou for all your time and sharing your skill set with us all.
    Kind regards from down under AJA.
    Best wishes from
    Chris.

      Livefree73 Oz thank you so much for the kind words! If you're dead set on that Hoyt any of their new flagship bows will definitely fit the bill. Also some of their more recent flagships as new but old stock are also really good. CRX, Faktor, MAXXIS, and others.

    Excellent video, I love your bow. I'd like to hear how quiet it is, but videos never do them justice.

    Love your videos, very helpful and love your practical approach. Anytime you want to hunt out my way (CO) let me know! Horses and mules are in shape and ready to go, season has plenty of days left. Keep up the great videos

    I shoot a Hoyt vector 32 from 2012, there is no way in hell you would talk me into getting a new bow! It's the archer that makes the difference not the bow. Slowly prepping for the moose hunt here in Northern Canada, good luck with your hunt!

      Agree! I shoot a 2011 PSE Evo that i got for dirt cheap since its an "old" bow.. IBO is 345, looks perfect, shoots amazing. It was their top of the line bow at the time. The way i see it is guys were still killing deer in 2011 and 2012 with our bows. No reason why it wont work in 2017.

    Another good video jack. Could u do 1 on broadheads from spin testing to shooting them and the step you would take to correct a bad arrow. Cheers

    Do you ever go out with traditional gear. I have a longbow and recurve and find shooting and hunting with it very satisfying and challenging. I sold my Hoyt compound and went Trad.

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  7 лет назад

      I have taken out my recurve a few times but nothing came close enough (15yards max) for me to feel comfortable. But it was definitely much more exhilarating! But definitely something I want to spend more time trying.

    do you find the drop away a little harder in the woods then say a biscuit rest?

    Good video.. you covered all the bases right there. And the biggest point was you were not shooting the "latest and greatest" bow. As far as I'm concerned modern archery bow technology was perfected in 2006 & 07 by Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, etc.. Some of the best bows ever made are from that era in my opinion.. So anyone looking for a bow buy used from 2006 and up, No need to spend $1000 on a 2017 bow.. Get the same performance for much less with a slightly older bow. The tech is still there.

      SoloCamXT Outdoors I will still argue that my favorite bows from those 3 companies are the Legacy, Alphamax 35, and Patriot. And they're hard to find because no one will sell them!

      I here ya. I bought by Switchback XT new in 2006 and I will never get rid of it. I have test fired a lot of bows over the years and never found a reason to change.

    2011 is a new bow compared to the 2005 bowtech I shoot. If it works for you then why change I say.

    AJA what arrows would you choose if you didn't want to spend a ton of money on arrows ?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  7 лет назад

      Daniel Shugarts Gold Tip Hunter, Beman ICS, and Easton Powerflights are all great options.

    Whats your opinion on light up knocks? Ive used them on my crossbow and will attempt to use them on my Bow this year......for my old eyes it just seems to help me see If i made a good shot or not.

      I dont know how it would be a bad thing. Good hunting accessory for sure.

      Bradbo3 I love them and even make my own! Great piece of technology to both help watch your arrow and recover it in the dark.

    For someone who wants to start shooting, what bow or brand do you recommend? It seems that a very customizable bow is the way to go, your thoughts are extremely appreciated. Thanks

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  7 лет назад +1

      TavilsonHeadBangers The options are practically limitless. But of you want a bow that's super adjustable, Bear, PSE, and Diamond all make very adjustable bows at very reasonable prices.

      Thanks a lot, Jack. We'll go for the Diamond Bowtech Infinite Edge Kit ($300) in case anybody is interested. Keep up the great work, man!

    What is the ATA on your bow?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  6 лет назад +1

      Southstar 80 That Carbon Element was 31 5/8".
      My current bows are Elite E35 at 34 3/4" and Answer at 33 1/2"

      Thanks for the reply. I ask because I am looking at my next bow. Currently I have a 31” diamond sb-1. Have narrowed dow to last years PSE carbon air 34” or the Evolve 35”. Just thinking with my 29.5 DL the bigger axle to axle with be more accurate and fit me better. Mostly for hunting and maybe a little 3D. If you have any advice I’m open to hearing it. BTW I am mainly looking at PSE because there are good quality but also we have a dealer at my archery club who is available anytime any day, can’t beat the convenience of that.
