Update: I also got an 2025 golf GTD! With adaptive suspension, and it drives very sporty. It's grey, but do you know what kind of color that "gray" is called? I think it's the same as yours. @@mikereports
Another good video Mike, it'll be good to see an in-depth video showing how to use the trip computer infotainment screen, etc? I'm picking up my MRK 7 GTD next week, I can't wait!!! Regarding stage 1 remapping I had an Octavia VRS (2011 plate) for 5 years I mapped that after 1 year and it turned it from a warm hatch to a beast... I also found the MPG increased ever so slightly, I would deffo recommend it, BUT it has to be done with a repeatable tuner... I'll be mapping my MRK 7 100%
Stage 1 GTD absolutely different car to a stock one much smoother, faster, power up till roughly 4700-4800 rmp instead of standard dropping off at around 4000rmp. Fuel consumption not imporved from my experience it stays roughly the same. All in all a remap brings the gtd to life much more punchy feels more sporty. Great car all round 👍
How long have you been running stage 1? I’ve been thinking of doing stage 1 on mine, not sure if the manual will be able to handle the extra torque and bit worried stage 1 might cause any issues with the engine like overheating or anything.
I have been running stage 1 for over 6 months now and aslong as you use a trusted remapper I can see you having no problems. I'm pretty sure the Manual actually handles the extra power better than dsg. Mine is a Manual and has been fine. Had my gearbox oil changed just to be sure. As to overheating I haven't experienced any like I say a good remap will give the car no problems aslong as you let it get up to temperature before you hammer it everywhere and do regular oil changes definitely no more than 6k miles in my opinion. Hope that helps👍
As were mine. I swapped the bulbs with Osram Nightbreakers but that didn't make much of a difference until I replaced them with LED bulbs. Yes, LED in Xenon housings do work, are more efficient, way brighther and whiter!
Hey man, just want to say i'm glad you're posting video's that go so in-depth of the GTD. Can't find those anywhere else on RUclips, so thank you🙏
Thanks for your comment, appreciate it...more to come... :)

Considering remapping mine too. Stage 1. Has anyone got any good success stories or negative stories? I have a 64 plate GTD manual.
Have to say I find the brightness and effectiveness of the lights on mine very poor, not helped by the cloudiness on the inside of the lens
As were mine.

@@MercSLRFan do you have a link for the bulbs you bought??
Maybe I’ve been lucky 😅
