Hi Calv, GTD owner here. Quite well spec’d that one mate. Keyless entry is the nuts 👌 Adaptive cruise is brilliant too. Stage 1 tune makes a huge difference to the car. 460NM changes the car entirely.
Bought a GTD three years ago, brilliant car. Still daily driving it with no problems at all. I put some lowering springs, 19” Rotiform wheels and a GTI diffuser with the exhaust to make it look even better. Would 10/10 recommend the car to everyone👌🏼
I've owned a mk7 gtd for 3.5 years, it's been staged 1 mapped. Mines got the diamond cut 19 inch wheels and full leather interior. Mpg is always great too. Love it
I’ve got a 65 plate GTD, in the same colour. Done 50000 miles and never missed a beat! I average about 52.9 MPG and it’s the perfect everyday driver for me, and I’m heavy footed
Ive recently bought a 68 plate Golf Gtd dsg, great car for a daily driver,50mpg easily achievable in daily driving,60+ on a decent run out,i had a Golf R & a Audi S4 before the gtd & needed something cheaper to run,Gtds will always sell well, good car to have in stock to sell. 👍
I think for the money mk7 gtd’s are right now you really can’t go wrong, fantastic daily’s for the price you pay and the performance of these things are brilliant, a lot of them have stupid high mileage but the engines are relatively strong in these, mk7.5 golfs look fantastic 🤤
My last car was one of these - absolutely loved it! Ticked all the boxes, smart, economical, comfortable and surprisingly nippy (with a stage 1 map). I spec'd the sports and sound pack so the exhaust even sounded good for a diesel. I'm working from home these days so traded it in for an S3 😋 still miss the GTD though
Great cars I had mine from new and it went back with just under 100k miles in 4 years. Stuck to Vw dealership serving and it never put a foot wrong. Stick some pilot sport 4s on it, and on a ‘B ‘road it will keep up with a standard golf r no probs. The electric diff on them are great 😃
I've just got a 2016 mk7 GTD with 6.7k miles for £17.7k , ex mobility car , fully loaded on spec , absolute dream to drive, although the front suspension seems a little hard , but what a steal of a deal tho 🤗
Can never go wrong with a golf. One of the cars that does everything alongside something like a 330d. Can you do a comparison of the gtd against a gti and then maybe compare a golf r to a gti clubsport??
13:52 my dads gtd same year but manual gets 50 mpg regularly and 60 depending on the weather. We drove it 2000 miles t9 the south of France 🇫🇷 and had an avarage mpg of 52 or something
Good to know I have same car but 65 reg 41,000miles with leather paid fourteen and a half and love it.Them wheels are standard they also have a little drawer under the front seats. That one will be due a timing belt change soon👍🏼
These are such underrated cars. I had one for 3 years and loved it! So much fun on country roads while still giving you good MPG. Not to mention the power you can get out of it if you give it a remap! Got the XDS slip diff and torque vectoring so it handles so well too, what a car 🙌🏽 The 65 plates saw a spec update so those came with keyless, heated seats and the updated touchscreen with CarPlay capability. Well worth getting a 65 plate or newer if you’re after one of these.
Yes Calvin your a topman and very humble i genuinly rate honest people and you are one of them bro wishing you good luck with everything and may god bless you with so much success and shower you with so much Happiness Amen:)
I've got a 2014 GTD Manual and it's a great car. it has a few optional extras including Pearl White Paint, Keyless + Heated Seats (These were options on earlier Mk7's until halfway through 2015 where they became standard), Dynaudio Sound Package, pro Nav 8 inch and a few other small bits and bobs. Great car, regret getting a manual though, I think the DSG gearbox suits the car better. Handles like it's on rails. Great all-rounder, cannot get the MPG below 35 and my long term usually floats between 47 and 50 which is great for the power. Nice video - good to see one of these on the channel mate!
Fitted all the clubsport dampers springs and bushes front arb and 25.4 H&R rear arb .. 8.5 j 18 bbs Ns2r tyres ds2500 pads custom mapped by Bobby sing very little beat it on a recent trackday. These do not handle from factory the ride is horrendous ohh and coded out all the traction and stability off is off it’s like an old skool hot hatch now lift off oversteer on command . The recipe to make a good car epic is above if anyone wants a seriously good gtd I spent 2 years developing mine the clubsport suspension setup is insane difference !
Mate you need asphalt in your yard ASAP, it will do wonders to maintaining the cars clean. As I know it’s quite expensive and a logistical nightmare to do, maybe do it in sections? P.S. can’t go wrong with a nicely specked Golf Cheers
I’ve been looking to purchase a car from a private seller. Seems every private seller wants to sell for dealer prices. They must scour the used car market & use dealer prices as a benchmark.
Yes they do, but when you go there and negotiate they’re willing to drop the prices massively. I tell them once I go there and I’ve taken the car for the test drive, offer them a price I I think is reasonable and most of the time they accept
I have a Skoda DSG 2014 with the same engine similar spec love the car mines estate in the Rally green want to swap it for the petrol version same colour again .I'm waiting for car prices to loose the covid effect my car actually gone up by 500 pound in a month .I've also noticed the price of vans skyrocketed wanted to get a van for my chippy son my advice don't by anything just yet until things settle down would not put past lease companies holding back selling stock they owned by banks anyway .I've been told british gas are holding onto hundreds waiting for prices to go up before seling them on.
I don't understand the aversion to higher mileage cars - I currently own an Alfa Romeo 159 ti SW 2.0 jtdm with 118,000 miles - not a rattle or a squeak inside the car and it drives like a dream. I am currently looking at a Saab 9000 CSE with 198,000 miles, but with a full service history and a stack of paperwork and a mild remap to +/- 270 bhp. For a 1996 car, it is surprisingly quick. Legendary engines in them which are bulletproof if looked after.
DSG was always an extra option , Winter Pack (heated seats & mirrors) also an option on the MK7 Golf as was the Keyless entry / start. Stange how that app just says Metallic pain was the only option ???
Brilliant car, mines exactly the same but with leather looks amazing, only trouble I’ve had is a starter and it did drop coolant once or twice probably because it was going down the motorway at 130 for about 20 minutes flat but other than that brilliant cars with a nice amount of power, do spin up a lot if your not careful on the throttle in a DSG model and finally THE INSURANCE IS A F*****G JOKE!
The MPG seems poor, that cannot be right ?. My 2016 Mercedes A220d DCT with the 2.2 diesel engine did 68mpg average over the 100,000 miles i had it. Was freaking awesome.
Hi Calvin, apologies, I’ve attempted to report the advert in this video and not the actual video itself as it angers me that the ad’s are looking to claim from the manufacturers for emissions issues etc. and as a result badmouth the brands and products you and others are trying to sell which for me contradicts what your promotion is all about, my intention was to feed this back to you tube but it appears to have taken my initial feedback as a direct issue with your video which it is not my intent and I hope this doesn’t cause you an issue and that you tube give me the chance to explain my view, if they get in touch then please send them my way to explain! Good luck with this and future sales, very transparent with some nice motors 👍
i would really like to know how much you would value my mk7 golf r at ........ I have upgraded brakes, apr stage 1 ecu & tcu , a catback valved apr exhaust imported from America & also with an updated head unit with apple car play & android auto ?
Been told these aren’t as good to tune as the mk6 anyone able to clarify? Thinking of buying a gtd but I was the mk7 for the looks but supposedly the mk6’s are better to tune and take the power better
My GTD is a 2016. Extras….discover pro. Dynaudio. Android / Apple car play. Keyless. Etc etc. Would be tempted to sell it 😉 albeit I love it. But I’ve had it from new, I’d like something new (new to me, not new new)
check my video for GTD after stage 1, the 3rd gear acceleration video is short but shows the swiftness. The other videos the car had just been mapped but alignment was out. Key things for any GTD- 4 wheel alignment, V power and yes it’s not cheap but it’s necessary, Michelin sport 4s are the best tyres by far (don’t get the Goodyear’s, don’t try and race everyone 0-60 it’s not geared for that, the power will be delivered from 4th gear onwards so if that little car is stubborn you will soon be cruising past don’t worry. Always warm the engine up, they will consume oil so keep on top of that and don’t mix oils, replace the OEM filter with a BMC panel or if your flush get the racing line cold air (you’ll want to map the car after as they can increase the hp).. don’t play with the cat or the exhaust it’s a diesel. Always let the car cool off after a blast, ideally let it drop to 94c on the digital display and keep an eye on your high pressure fuel sensor! Have fun.
This system has honestly transformed my business.

Is that mostly motorway journeys to get that mpg?
I have a 2019 GTD, and at the time, VW threw in the £300 reversing camera. Well chuffed with the car. You can easily get over 50 mpg when cruising.

I have a 2017 GTE. Great all round car. Compared to my previous car, I halved my fuel costs, insurance is the same and doubled the hp.
I’ve got a mk6 gtd clone since we don’t have them here in the US, 215bhp, 45-50mpg, and cheap and reliable. Truly an awesome car
