Your top-bottom comparison editing is extremely well done and I agree Borla is not worth the upgrade and that drone probably gets annoying on long drives
quick question, does it fit the xdrive?? cause im trying to get one for my 435i xdrive but says only compatible with rwd so wondering how you did it???
Actually this exhaust system was a custom job. Just bought some off-the-shelf S-type mufflers and replaced the factory mufflers. Although I don't recommend it...it didn't add volume and it added a LOT of drone. I had another shop put the original mufflers back on just days later. Could have just been the botched job that the muffler shop did, but either way...save your money OR get a dedicated cat- or turbo-back exhaust from a reputable aftermarket supplier.
i would justify the money by whether or not it increases hp, not the sound. why else would u pay for any exhaust upgrade?? s type is deeper vs meaner. however if u want to head towards tone of oem, then go with borla attack.
I'm having a tough time deciding if I should get a borla atak or s type crate muffler. Are they louder or quieter than the round straight through absorbtion mufflers like the magnapacks, flow fx or the carven tr? I would think because of the larger case they would be quieter but the videos really vary. I currently have dual carven tr's and I wanted something a bit quieter and less drone or even no drone.
I ended up reinstalling the stock mufflers and keeping it as-is. They’re pretty nice from stock anyway, and I didn’t want to spend more money to risk more drone.
I have a 2013 e92 335i m performance and I have no idea what exhaust I want yet. I don’t want it super loud when cruising but on WOT I want to really hear it. Probably will do high flow dp first and maybe res delete and see how it sounds
@@troymassey2030 Haha I’ve since learned a lot about this car I was never a huge e92 guy but I’ve done a lot to the car. It’s FBO stage 2 mhd now I’ll make some vids when I have time from work

Thank you! And yeah it was horrible, I uninstalled it after 2 days-just long enough to make content and then it was gone
@@TheCarEnthusiast the use of the exhaust tips alone makes any noticeable difference in sound?
The stock sounds better
I have a 2011 335 abs love my stock exhaust
Nice and simple and straight to the point. Good video!
Damn stock mufflers sound better

S type just gives it a little crisp sound it personal preference,i like the settle stock exhaust.
The Borla has a tiny bit more tone, but the differences seem difficult to distinguish and drone makes a car unlivable.
Agreed!

Honestly I wish I hadn’t done this exhaust upgrade at all. I went back to stock days later.
@@TheCarEnthusiast this is sooo close to the oem. however it does offer more hp

Good video! Borla exhaust not for me either 🤣
Did you move on to the Borla Ataks?

your car doesn’t have a resonator and you already have the best exhaust just do a downpipe
