i was 11 watching this seeing life so differently. We had it so good n were too oblivious to see it. Blessed to say i was raised in the late 80s and 90s
I remember this as a kid. In fact, this was my only frame of reference for the Twin Towers until 9/11/01. I do remember distinctly recalling this skit on 9/11 as it was happening. It’s quite strange what we hold on to.
This was the first thing I thought of when 9/11 happened. I don’t know why I just remember the tower falling and thinking of this skit. It’s weird how things like that happen.
Same here. I was a 10 year old kid in Arkansas when 9/11 happened and this skit was the only real frame of reference I had for what the Twin Towers even were
I actually visited the observation deck of the twin towers, but I barely remember it even though I was 9-10 years old. This Stick Stickly segment was my reference when 9/11 was happening. My mom told me years later that we had actually gone there while on vacation. It's odd what sticks with us.
There was a promo commercial for one of the Rugrats movies where they announced that the Twin Towers had been renamed Phil and Lil, and showed a shot of the towers where one of them had a pink bow on the roof. Anyone else remember that?
This makes me sad because of the Twin Towers but it's also funny imagining how they shot this. Some guy crouching down carrying a popsicle stick opening a New York cab door. Some guy with a camera on the floor going through the revolving doors (or maybe it was on a little radio controlled thing). I can only imagine the onlookers' reactions. 🥲
Wow this takes on a whole different vibe watching it today.. so sad. Life was just so different back then. So bizarre to look back

I remember seeing "Oh Brother" when I was a kid! I was seven years old then, and I have many fond memories of watching Nickelodeon at that age.
