Hi Octavia, the Holly tone fertilizer is NPK: 4-3-4 vs the Rose tone that is 4-3-2. So it looks like Holly tone has more potassium in it compared to Rose tone. You can use it on the roses but maybe add it a little less during the flowering season. It is a good fertilizer to add in time for winter because it will help harden the canes to prepare the plant for winter hardiness. Hope this helps!

Hello again! Have you tried any mulch, ever - on any plants or plants to? I’m in a subtropical zone and there’s no way I could put gravel next to my plants because sure of how they will heat up with direct sunlight 😢
I use rock mulch around my roses and it does really well. It hasn't heated up the roses too much during summer and they seem to like it. I would experiment with one rose if you want to try it otherwise try regular tree mulch.

Honestly, it helps if you do it once in 2-4 weeks. I usually do it once in 4 weeks but if I get time to do it sooner then it would help even more.
