    Great tips! I'm new to growing roses and wanted to know if Holly Tone fertilizer is good for roses? Thanks

    • @AmritaBhortake
      @AmritaBhortake  3 месяца назад

      Hi Octavia, the Holly tone fertilizer is NPK: 4-3-4 vs the Rose tone that is 4-3-2. So it looks like Holly tone has more potassium in it compared to Rose tone. You can use it on the roses but maybe add it a little less during the flowering season. It is a good fertilizer to add in time for winter because it will help harden the canes to prepare the plant for winter hardiness. Hope this helps!

      I am in Orange County. Is it zone 10a too or 10b?

    • @AmritaBhortake

      @rawsunnata829 I am not sure as it would depend on your zip code. You can check it here on the USDA website: planthardiness.ars.usda.gov

    Great, informative information. How often do you spray your roses with kelp?

    • @AmritaBhortake
      @AmritaBhortake  10 месяцев назад +1

      Honestly, it helps if you do it once in 2-4 weeks. I usually do it once in 4 weeks but if I get time to do it sooner then it would help even more.

    Hello again! Have you tried any mulch, ever - on any plants or plants to?
    I’m in a subtropical zone and there’s no way I could put gravel next to my plants because sure of how they will heat up with direct sunlight 😢

    • @AmritaBhortake
      @AmritaBhortake  7 месяцев назад

      I use rock mulch around my roses and it does really well. It hasn't heated up the roses too much during summer and they seem to like it. I would experiment with one rose if you want to try it otherwise try regular tree mulch.

    Can alfalfa meal be used on new roses? I have several small own root this sprig, should I wait until next spring?

    • @AmritaBhortake
      @AmritaBhortake  Год назад +1

      Yes, it can definitely be used with new roses. As it’s a little late in the season, I would hold off on using it right now. I recommend using it in spring. For now, you can do the foliar spray with kelp.

      This is my favorite Foliar fertilizer for the rose. It is a kelp fertilizer and worked really well in my garden this year. amzn.to/3Ej9UGv

    What are some of your favorite tips for growing and reblooming your roses especially, David Austin Roses?

  • @narasimha7187

    Climbers can be stingy bloomers till they are a few years old!

    • @AmritaBhortake
      @AmritaBhortake  4 месяца назад

      Yes! This exactly! I wish someone would have told me this when I first bought my climbing roses. I thought I had killed them the first year. Forget blooms, it had shed all the leaves. Lol 😂
