    This was so helpful. The mind is so powerful. I knew for months before I got myself deep into this pain that I was not being nice to myself and that I was super over stressed. I felt that I didn’t have the time or availability to change that- but now my body hasn’t given my a choice but to fix my self talk and my thoughts.

    I love what you say here. I truly believe that our bodies relate to what we are thinking and our 'state of mind'. I have noticed that I have spent a lot of time, sort of 'mad' at my body for not performing like it should, or looking like it should. Instead of loving our body and realizing its 'magnificence' we often condemn and criticize it, therefore increasing the problems we hate. Most people have that love/hate relationship with their bodies, with hate being more predominant. Its nice to hear this. We all should be reminded from time to time this stuff. I needed that reminder. Thanks. 😊

    Dear Dr Charlie. I'm a 44 year old male who was diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction after years of being misdiagnosed with multiple issues ranging from an enlarged prostate to colon issues. Months of antibiotics did nothing to help me until I sought out pelvic floor pt myself. After 16 or so pt sessions I feel my condition has greatly improved. I don't suffer from groin and testicle pain anymore but my glute pain hasn't subsided. Months of stretching, rolling and trigger point release haven't been able to cure my pirifomis pain that radiates down into my calves. I'm really hoping this helps me with my nerve pain.

    Thank you, that was fantastic Charlie. I thought ' at last some one who links the brain and the body as one' which many PT doctors don't ( and other medical professionals ). I think alot of my pain, which is in my butt and right leg stems from stress and anxiety, simply because it changes all the time and of unknown cause. I actually felt better by the end of your vid.

      Of course they are. Doctor originates from the word "teacher"- then became something used to describe qualified medical providers. Most PT's have a Doctorate degree in physical therapy (DPT).

    Pain is the only non habitual thing for humans or living beings. While the advice to NOT over focus on the pain is wise, it’s also highly unrealistic when you have been in it for years, spent thousands of dollars, and live in agony. After that kind of experience most people just don’t see a point in living and want to off themselves.

    • @drcharliejohnson
      @drcharliejohnson  Год назад

      It’s challenging no doubt. But not unrealistic. The difference is taking actionable steps to change how you view your pain and the relationship you have with pain. Ignoring pain is not the goal (only fuels the pain more). Need to confront it- but from a place of safety not fear.
