  • The “ATG shoulder press” is simply a full range neutral grip dumbbell shoulder movement - we prioritize this exercise for shoulders to prevent potentially creating more pressing imbalances.
so many people have rounded forward shoulders yet also lack strength in the entire range of the shoulder joint.
Dips and bench press movements only hurt due to weak/imbalanced shoulder and or rotator muscles. A lot of people are stuck in their bench progress simply due to this shoulder/rotator weakness.
Spend some time improving your ATG shoulder press and rotator strength and watch your other pressing exercises improve as well - there is great carryover!

Thanks Fernando. Dips are a weak link for me right now. This, and the detail on the movement, are a great help.

Nice! Will try this exercise, I'm usually always doing military presses with the barbell, unfortunately I'm having some problems with my right shoulder, elbow and wrist, but will try this. Hope you get more views and subs!

Thanks 🙏🏽 and yes work those rotators too, a lot of times we under train them and leads to pains down the arm from the lack of shoulder stability. Hope this helps

Will try on Wednesday and see how it works, I'm usually a bit weak with dumbells and pressing. I will probably need to to screen it with MRI anyway, but a good thing to work on shoulders from all sides as it's a pretty small muscle but the most mobile one that is very important for many directions and movements. @@fullrangefern

It's similar. Like an around the neck press.
