    I absolutely LOVE stages like this in these builds. Even if it's stuff you never really see, at this scale, it's those little details that make or break a model. On the Titanic build, for example, as I'm using upgraded parts, I've found myself learning more about the ship mechanically than I ever knew. And, like you showed on the X-Wing build, all the stuff that goes into each wing...half of it, you're never going to see. But it DOES make you think about how those parts work in that world, and really makes you appreciate all the thought and detail that someone put into a fictional world.
    Details make a model go from "meh" to "whoa", and the little details are the ones that get noticed the most.

    The Pitot tube was named after its French inventor.
    An interesting fact about the Lancasters modified to carry the bouncing bomb is that the dorsal turret had to be removed to make room for the motor that spun the bombs up before dropping them to enable them to bounce.

    I have noticed from the pictures of the completed model and from the TV ad that the wings look completely wrong! They sag! They have a completely wrong dihedral angle to the actual aircraft. Maybe its because with all that plumbing and wiring the wings are simply too heavy. It really should have a load bearing main spar like a real lanc.

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  8 месяцев назад

      Remember the tv ad is just the prototype. The actual.model may be different

    • @fus149hammer5
      @fus149hammer5 8 месяцев назад

      @WorldofWayneUK I hope it is because those floppy wings if they remain so will undoubtedly ruin the look of a very large, very intricate and extremely expensive model.

    Wayne is it normal for magazines to assume you want the full series after expressing an interest in the trial back in Sept 2022? Hachette emailed me to say my first package was being delivered(last week) and haven’t charged me. I’ve tried to email them to cancel as I no longer live at the address stated. They haven’t bothered answering and it seems odd this has even happened. I’ve had the package routed to the local sorting office and am tempted to just leave there so they return to sender.

      The bomber looks amazing but I have a few partworks already on the go. Most recently I’ve started an Evangelion(anime) model from Deagostini Japan. It looks huge and am excited to see how it turns out. I’m also going for the ISS model from Deagostini UK coming in Feb.

      Cement is next to useless on this build. It's tough abs and needs a good CA glue

    • @MCT954
      @MCT954 8 месяцев назад +1

      Plenty of cements work with ABS, HMA Plastic Weld and the plastics and Deluxe materials Plastic Magic are two. Problem with a lot of CA glues is that they are strong in compression and weak in tension. With resin kits, I use expoy glues rather than CA for big joints like fuselage and wing joints as I have issues of joint splitting. Just finished a 1/72nd resin Andover and despite the weight it stood a fair amount handling and sanding etc to remove joint lines
