All in all I think this will be a good change. The SF parks will be brought up to CF standard and those prices will then be raised accordingly. I don’t see the “monopoly” concern being an issue. Even combined their market share will still be a fraction of Disney’s and Universal’s. They’ve been quietly working on this since last January so I’m sure any regulatory concerns have already been reviewed/resolved.
I don't know this merger would have went through if SF was a majority stock holder. There was a genuine concern of how SF run it's park. They don't keep their parks as clean and well run as CF parks. I think Cf wants to call the shots
That's an interesting point. I hope they will keep the name of the park. And at the end " A six Flags park.". Another interesting point would be what will be the number 1 park in the chain. Cedar Point or Magic Mountain.
Mabey this will help.......I used to love to go to 6 flags....but the st.louis flags gas went to shit!!!......and no management will talk......I drove all the way to Arlington TX to there main office to get answers......after about a week of speaking with them they said 'wow...there are issues there' ........ hopefully this will be better
Yeah, CF is great at that. They do keep their parks well run and maintain. Now that we have 2 SF parks in Missouri They can cross shared their employees and staff SFStl from Kansas City. I know right, the carousel has been closed for 5 years now Maybe the CF team will set money aside and fix SFSTl and paint and fix the lights on the rides and the waterpolo and towers(thus have been fixed) But our park needs a lot of work to bring it up to CF standard.
I remember peeking at their stock values before the pandemic CF was like almost $70 dollars a share and SF was at 52. Now they are floundering at around 20 Or $30 a share. I hope this economic down turn ends quickly. The thought of not having a park to go to, uuuuggghhh.
My concern comes from how Cedar Fair runs their parks. I would love this more if I thought that they would treat my home park Six Flags, St. Louis, like they do Cedar point or Kings Island. Instead, I am afraid of getting the Michigan’s Adventure or Valley fair treatment. I think how positive you are about this development will be with how well you assume Cedar Fair is going to treat your home park. Still in the end I do not see me not going to Theme park’s and having a blast with my friends and family because of this merger. Hopefully this is all for the good. Time will tell.
This is 9:17 our concerns too. But I see that CF will round our our parka first. They will fix the kids area and bring the number of rides up. Maybe even expand and built a new area and bring the numbers up to about 20 like all their parks. The flat rises is low too , our sister park in Kansas City has almost 70 rides and attractions. They will bring the flat rides to about 20 also. As right now SFStl has about 42 rides and attractions . I hope those days of additions by subtraction are gone and our rides and attractions goes up.
its hard to say about St. Louis, its been pretty neglected by SF corporate for a while. We have seen some improvements recently, with new additions and bringing the park back in appearance, i.e. the landscaping this year was excellent. but i worry that the corp will go back to neglecting it again as far as additions, but i think we will see great improvements in the park in other areas. such as landscaping, and operations over all.
I was telling people that because you're at least 3-4 hours away from the next park they will probably keep it open and it's the last of the original Six Flags parks..what do you think?
Similar to workds of Fun. I think they will bring the number up in kidd area and flat ride collections. They have iover 30 rides each in the kids area and flat rides. On the positive side they will fix things quicker and not take 3 or 4 years to fix the carousel for an example.
Which parks will be SF #1 park. Cedar Point or Magic Mountain just saying. FOR A LONG TIME these 2 parks has been in battle as the roller coasters capital of the workd.
well, i think Cedar Point is a more complete park overall from a General Public perspective. Things may have improved since we went to MM in 2015, but their kids area and general flat ride roster was lacking i thought.
All in all I think this will be a good change.

I'm excited to see CF do it's magic with some of Sf parks and brought it up to their standards.

I don't think CF has an app for food order in advance. But it never seems to be an issue at all their parks.
That would be terrible changing Cedar flags, Carowinds flags , Six Flags Over Kings Island and Kings Dominion
That's an interesting point. I hope they will keep the name of the park. And at the end " A six Flags park.". Another interesting point would be what will be the number 1 park in the chain. Cedar Point or Magic Mountain.

They have to do something. Both have a lot of debt coming due in the next few years
I don't think it would be so bad, both franchises have something to add to each others and make it better

I am concerned about this merger on my home park as well, Six Flags St. Louis, been going since I was a kid.
What about our legacy passes? Thats my big question!
I wonder about that myself
Yeah I was wondering about that too. We're been paying unbelievable cheap price for 4 people with all access to all SF parks forever.
What do you think as for the future of our home park in St.Louis
