As a 50 year old father of 6 whos been with this band since I was 10 11. This song is a gem. I hear JJSTICE ,LIGHTNING, LOAD and hints of BLACK..very very Justice overall for me..KINGS
72 seasons is how many seasons there is in a humans first 18 yrs of living, so this album is about those first 18 yrs of a human life.. One thing Metallica can do they showcase in this song, is having a drum beat, put a riff over it, and it already sound badass, its not as easy to do as it may sound, making it that simple, and make it work..
@@michbenny1363 Oh 72 Seasons will be nothin like "...And Justice", which so much better lyrically than the singles from 72 Seasons. 72 Seasons is definitely gonna be a Kill Em All and Black Album love child.
Pretty good. It’s amazing how long they’ve rocked today. Will make sure to try to remember to go to Twitch as well today. That was a pretty good song. Kinda reminds me of that one they did for Mission impossible.
For me this one feels like the crossed Eye Of The Beholder with Cyanide and put it on the Load album. I like it a lot, but I think in terms of repeat listening the other two tracks we've gotten so far from the new album will get more playtime from me. Lux Aeterna was fun from the first time I heard it, sort of a more modern Hit The Lights. Screaming Suicide didn't grab me quite as fast, but after repeated listenings it's become my favorite of the three.
The sound of this album is amazing. You can hear everything clearly in the mix. This song sounds like a mix of ''Eye of the beholder'' and ''Wherever i may roam''
Awesome reaction friend. They're in the early 60 I like all new singles so far. I'm happy as can be that they're still making new Music. I'm at 55 I'm hear to listening to it. Been fan since 84. Here to END of there Glorious Music Journey of life. TY Metallica.
Another great reaction! I appreciate your overall positive outlook and genuine interest in metal. Lately, I've been kind of surprised by how many supposed "fans" have been negatively reacting to these new songs and bashing Metallica. I guess some people care more about getting views than being genuine. I've been a Metallica fan for 30 years now, that will never change. The 72 Seasons release date is actually one day before my 40th birthday. I'll be having my own private listening party with family and friends. Keep up the awesome reactions and keep on rockin'! 🤘😎
I noticed that and was kinda surprised at everyone kinda just hating on them all week and making really gross comments about the band. I love Metallica and thought the new songs were great! ♥️
We are negatively reacting to these new songs by Metallica because they are objectively pretty bad. If these same songs were released by any other band, the reaction would be "meh". I say this as one of the biggest fans of Metallica ever...post Black Album and everything. Thought Load and Reload were underrated, St. Anger was pretty bad, *loved* Death Magnetic and thought Hardwired was pretty good. But man, these new songs from 72 Seasons are just straight trash.
❤️❤️🎼 Love your reactions!! Yes, it's a bit of old school Metallica to me too, but I'm hearing Eye of the Beholder vibes from And Justice For All album. I'm 58 and a fan since 84' been blessed to have seen them 9x throughout 80s 90s 2000s...these guys are absolutely the best live! Please react to any song of Seattle 89' live, it was one hell of a show!! They were in their prime imo! But I really really would love for you to react to 2009 Nimes, The day that never comes! Phenomenal! It's about abuse. Anyways, I love your reactions! 🥰 Also, 72 seasons is how many seasons to become an adult 18 years. These guys are my Absolute favorite band!! Thanks and much love!❤️🎼🎸🖤
Nice stuff..hoping one of the songs has an acoustic intro and some chorusing guitars ,maybe a solo by James, one of those emotional specials he's so adept at. Also hoping they chuck an instrumental onto the album that might showcase some of Robs bass that he's capable off as he's shown in Suicidal Tendencies.
Someone described this new music as ‘classic Metallica brought into the modern age’ and I think I agree with that take. They’ve been one of my favorite bands for decades now and I will never lose that joy of hearing new sh*t from them. 🤘🏽
I like this song a lot, it's pretty much a tie with "Lux Aeterna" for me. What do people expect? These guys are in their 60's and they're still putting out new music, you can't expect them to sound like they're still in their 20's with the same style. I actually really enjoy Metallica's newer stuff, people are gonna h8 no matter what so I'm just gonna ignore them and enjoy the music. Love Metallica, these guys will forever hold a special place in my heart!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
I’ve found myself playing newer Metallica a lot more than older stuff the past like year. Hardwired, death magnetic are criminally underrated still! All their new stuff even from 72 seasons is still so damn good!
Why do you waste time listening to it if you even admit it's not on par with their earlier stuff? You can just listen to bands from the new wave of thrash metal that are in their 20s now.
Definitely loving the direction they’re heading, almost old school feeling. I’ve also noticed their last few videos are very similar, nice but like to see something different. They sound really good here.
Always a great review, loved the Sandman take on it. James lyrics are always thought provoking. 3 great new songs so far, all different. That's one of the reasons I love them, you get thrash, melodic, sludge, tempo. Metallica Forever 🤘
I'm really liking these songs they've released from upcoming CD. This one I hear a mix between eye of the beholder from their and justice for all CD and the song cyanide from their death magnetic CD.
I absolutely agree that the beginning here reminds me of Enter Sandman a little bit. This is one awesome song that is going to be timeless. I've always been more of a fan of Metallica's slower songs and this one is slow and dark. This is the Metallica that I love.
72 seasons is how many seasons pass in your first 18 years of life. That’s what this album covers according to James Hetfield Can’t wait for the album!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I absolutely love this song especially the lyrics If Darkness had a Son here I Am... just fuck kicks ass.. my favorite song on the album although I love them all... Thank you Metallica
the sounds of this song I hear hints Of wolf and man, harvestor of sorrow, leper mesiah, ride the lightning, and justice for all, and master of puppets in the guitars and drums.
Love your reaction! I think James Hatfield is saying that if darkness had a son than here I am.a man that is streaken with temptation, a quenchless yearning for some unnamed sin.🖤🤘✌
More than just going right back to Kill em Alll I really believe that this new album is more going to be an album of tributes to their original inspirations. First single was defo pure Mötörhead, the second was Judas Priest AF and this track is very VERY Venom in places. Am I grasping at straws here folks or does anyone hear what I hear coz obviously I am totally guessing here.
I know many ppl didn't like the St. Anger album cuz there were no guitar solos but I liked it the whole album kicks ass I don't care whst other think about it i liked it
The Kings rock us while a gorgeous lady /rockfan guides us 🔥🔥🤘🤘🔥🔥🤘🤘….splendid company….I have seen these guys 18 times live…go see them as soon as possible
Metal Guy here! I just went through Metallica's whole list of Albums and can honestly say that there is a definate span of rythem and tone that they drew their inspiration. Specifically: " The Struggle Within " - Black, " Better than You " - Re-Load, " That was just Your Life " and " Broken Beat and Scared " - Death Magnetic, Now that We're Dead " - Hard Wired, I found to be very close in their rythem and Tempo but at the end of the day, Who the Fuck cares? Its Metallica, " WE DON"T NEED A REASON"!........ :-)
I think it's alcohol but in song form. It's slow, doesn't progress, sounds tired. Jesus fuck what an unimaginative song. I'm sorry but if you sit down and really think through this song on all levels, it just falls flat.
It's really cool that the band tackles subjects like suicide and addiction I have been a fan of Metallica since my teenage years when I heard And Justice For All my friend Mike got me into rock and heavy metal I'm pretty sure this song is about addiction but I could be wrong looking forward to the release of 72 Seasons in April
Not going to lie it took me a few listens to like this one . But when I got the story of it …. I loved it and it sounds like it belongs on the black albums I think every song will sound like it belongs on each album they have done . I’m hyped for it !
It definitely gave me some Enter Sandman Vibes but it definitely gave me more Wherever I May Roam groove vibes . All in all , this definitely had a Black Album no matter what lol both tracks were on the album . This album could end up being very interesting if it's like a total story in one. Would be awesome

72 seasons means the first 18 years of your life (4 each year). And yeah… the subjects are being like teen related stuff, all those faces you live during that time.
Aileen if Metallica moves you this much then you need to listen to "Steel Heart -" Lips of Rain " and " We all Die Young " used in the movie " Rock Star ", Guns N Roses - " November Rain ", P.M. Dawn - ' Way of the Wind " and " Id Die with out You ". Would love to know what you think.
Screaming Suicide is more an ode to friends he lost (Bennington, Cobain, etc)…..not necessarily his current state of mind. Also it’s a shout out to their new fan base from Stranger Things who struggle with this more than we know…it’s a very thoughtful song for others, not necessarily James….

and a little of confusion from hardwired
Clearly can hear everything from 88-98. It's really cool. I feel if this song came out during Justice or Black then it would already a classic.
