Hey mate! Just took your advice and replaced the switch, and it’s lovely! Had to fashion a couple little washers out of what I had lying around but it worked out perfectly. Thank you so much for the video! would never have figured to use a totally different type of switch but I couldn’t be happier with it.
This video just saved me a ton of pain - Thank you Jesse. I was about to install the wrong type of switch! For those doing the same: the bits about the switch being SPST as well as Momentary On are critical. You can watch how it functions by just tapping the two wires (that go into the switch) together and watching the light go on *every other tap*.
sorry if this is a bit late but here's one i found : guitarpedalparts.com/products/spst-momentary-soft-touch-foot-switch-normally-closed?variant=18956199526500¤cy=USD&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI992FrtWv8QIVtyCtBh17cQkQEAQYAiABEgL2M_D_BwE
Thanks! My switch busted for the second time will mod it with your instruction. Quick question if you do not mind. How did you fixed the washers are they just resting there? I’m a complete noob about fixing things... thanks in advance.
one washer under the chassis and one on top. when you screw down the nut on the switch it will squeeze the 2 washers together effectively clamping the switch in the hole.
What’s the green and blank pedal to the left of your chain when you’re at the end of the video? For some reason I’m thinking CMC* effects or something DIY. I’m just curious if hat you’re stacking with the 808 haha. Much love
The worst of the worst switch i've ever played. it worked 3 months. not made for professionals. It's a shame for Ibanez sadly. you better change the switch or buy another better pedal. it's a nightmare.
Worked on my pedal!!! Thanks for the help!
For anyone asking, you need a 7/16” size washer
The stock switch is awful. This is exactly what I need to do. Thanks so much for making this video!
The best thing about YT is helpful people like you posting fixes to common faults like this. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for this info I had the same problem on my TS808. I am saved.

That word is soooo funny nowadays 😊
@@jturquoise lol why? That switch sucks!
@@Gumbo72203 the word “problematic “, just makes me lol.
But yeah I agree
I hate the switch also!
Thank you for your post. Could you be so kind as to give me the exact references of the switch so I could order one for my original TS 808? Yours.

This video just saved my life.

Do you know why the ts808 has a momentary switch instead of a latching switch?
Does this alter the tone at all?
