A few things to add to an otherwise very helpful video:
    1) When soldering leads to the switch lugs, it is helpful to make sure the lugs are nice and shiny and not tarnished, as tarnish can slow down solder flow while still conducting heat. Many of us can take a while to get around to using our switches and they can tarnish in the interim. Use a utility knife or similar to scrape away any tarnish, for a faster more problem-free solder joint. Pre-tinning the lugs and the wire you want to solder to them is also helpful.
    2) Thanks for mentioning about the incidental liquifying of the grease inside, that can turn it into an insulator. If you DO encounter problems that are grease-related, you can pop the switch open, clean the rocker contacts, and re-assemble the switch, to eliminate the problem. I've done this many times, and helped others salvage a well-loved pedal that had gone AWOL due to errant switch-grease. Just realize that the tabs holding the two halves of the switch together DO NOT like being bent very far or very often. Be gentle prying them and only bend them as far as you need to to wriggle the contact half out.
I have a few more things noted in this video - ruclips.net/video/6uhDKFhqYnw/видео.html - but DIY GP covers most of what you need to know.

Melted the contacts of two switches on the second pedal I ever built, since then I've been using 3PDT breakout boards to make the soldering easier on myself. Love the fact that the breakout boards I've been using have three ground contacts, it's also simplified my wiring quite a bit.

Just wanted to say thanks mate, these videos have been invaluable to my knowledge in diy pedals. If I may suggest a video, I’m at the point where instead of using transistors for boosts/preamps/overdrives i’d like to try tl072/tl071 style Ic’s, only thing is that the schematic image doesn’t make all that much sense to me. An instructional like this explaining which pin does what and where it goes in the circuit (positive, line input, ground ect) or even how to design the circuit around one would be amazing! Anyway mate! Keep up the great work! Also Would love to see some 5mm and 3mm pink/magenta LEDs in the store too 🤪 cheers bud!

I had trouble getting the little tabs to hold once I had pried on them. Ended up having to shim the bottom of the switch so it wouldn't just pop out every time I pressed it.

Is there a sort of switch that you could trigger (enable / disable) with a mosfet or something? So that you could switch a switch with an Arduino or something?

I wonder wether instead of replacing the whole switch when it malfunctions, it would be much easier to open the new switch and swap the internal components? That way you don’t need to solder anything

Thanks for this information! I'm still wondering though, when modding a guitar pedal to a Eurorack module, is it possible to change the 3PDT footswitch with a Toggle Switch? That would make a ton more sense in my system, but i'm not sure if it is possible. I find a lot of 9-pin toggle switches online, many are ON-ON or ON-OFF-ON etc, what do I need? I have a feeling it won't work the way I want it to.

I'm trying to make a double a/b switch (mono in a/b out and a/b in mono out with TS on all ins and outs) with a TRS jack to receive signal for a/b positions. Does anyone know how this would be wired? I understand using an actual stomp switch but how the hell can I take an on/off control signal from a Boss ES-8 and make it work with the a/b?

Can you help or give me an idea on how to build a bypass loop switch but it should activate 1 delay and 1 OD(boost) assuming my signal chain is Guitar -> OD(boost) -> Main Dirt(distortion) -> delay -> Amp. My goal is to activate those 2 pedals in just 1 click? is it possible? im thinking of using 5pdt?
    Thanks.
