    Welcome to Oregon. The only Walmarts on the Coast are in Coos Bay and Newport. Elsewhere you will have to settle for Fred Meyer.

      They added a Walmart in Warrenton, OR, near Astoria.

      56 Chevy Thanks, I didn't know that. I wonder if Florence will ever get one. Not that I like Walmart, but they do serve a purpose.

    When I first moved to Washington the logging trucks could fill a truck with 2 or 3 logs. They were cutting old growth back then.

    1:19, thought for sure you'd tell us about how that old ship got there. Thank you for showing places to stay along the route. Brookings is a nice little town. They have a very good RV repair shop that replaced my heater motor, quickly, at an honest price. I paid $3.55 in the LA area for gas this morning. I find a great tactic is to buy gas to Costco, they are easy to find, and a great break. Walk around and sample the food then drive on. Cheapest gas without searching. Eureka store had 8 oz coffee samples

      I lived in Oregon my entire life I've been on the go since the turn of the century I keep telling people you think it's great here it rains it rains west of I-5 more than its Sunshine's I've wasted 20 years of my life endures they never seem to get it or it rains once in awhile bulshit it rains about 60 in a year where I live some places on the coast it's 80 in in Portland it's about 50 in or more and you can't enjoy the coast and it blows too much and destroys everything I'm trying to get out of Oregon and I got to go somewhere like Arizona or Nevada get out of here

    What was that inspection station for?

    • @MaxZomboni
      @MaxZomboni 5 лет назад +2

      Marie Jakowski It's a California Border Protection Station. They don't have enough money for their schools, but they have enough for their own border patrol. LOL. Which you can totally avoid by driving around it.

    • @j-marie4006
      @j-marie4006 5 лет назад +1

    • @MaxZomboni
      @MaxZomboni 5 лет назад +2

      Marie Jakowski You will see them at all the major entry points into California, even on the Interstates.

    • @56chevy11
      @56chevy11 5 лет назад +4

      IMHO, They try and keep Americans out of CA....that's why they have inspections stations.

    • @frankp5786
      @frankp5786 5 лет назад +4

      Its an agricultural inspection station. They try to control the flow of plants, fruits & vegetables into the state in order to keep out pests which may affect the crops grown in California.

    Don't tell anyone this....
    Here is some insider info for any and all as you travel up the Oregon Coast...
    All the coast in the US is beautiful, east west coasts, all wonderful. The drive from Florence to Yachats [pronounced YA' hots]...
    is my favorite, and I now live in the area. As you drive up coast, and want to stay for a night, and don't want to pay, pull into the old, HS parking lot in Waldport, it is in 'The tsunami zone' just a few feet above sea level, so Waldport built a new HS up in the hills. What is left is a nice level parking lot. Over looking a nice area to walk your dogs, and bird watch:
    101 to Waldport...
    Go east on Hwy 34 [NW Hemlock St] Pass the Fire Dept on right, and Rays Food [Groceries] on left, Ace Hardware on left, now just turn right....It's just a few blocks from 101... A few nice little coffee shacks for your morning brew near by
    You've now Turn right on NE Crestline, turn right again into lot...
    If you drive over the Slough you missed it
    You are there... safe, and quiet, the City Hall, Post Office and City Services all near...
    Enjoy The Day!

    Great videos as usual !
