Newport was very nice 👍 headquarters for NOAA Research ships that moved there in 2011 from Seattle. The Yaquina lighthouse was made in Paris France in 1868 and shipped To Oregon, it was first lit in 1873 and being 93 ft tall is the highest lighthouse In Oregon. It’s a live lighthouse with a light characteristic of 2 seconds on 2 seconds off, 2 seconds on 14 seconds off. Great work and a pleasure seeing more history shared by you. Thanks and safe travels to you !!
Have lived on the Oregon Coast for 15 years (getting ready to sell and go full time RV). Beautiful here. And if you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes. Tip for traveling in Oregon: there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear. And the locals NEVER use umbrellas.
Russ , Russ, We enjoy your show we have been following since the beginning of Summer. We live in Central Oregon.(,Bend).While you are up north there is even Beef Jerky Factory as well as a Cheese factory In Tillamook , well worth the stop at both places. .While you are up north go to Astoria it is beautiful and the home of the Movie Goonies along with a the Museum, Then there is the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Well worth the time. Thank you for the videos.
Did you have time to see the lighthouse on the north end of town? Its called the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. its very spectacular looking. Its too bad you just drove through Newport. You did miss some other things. Tillimook is great, but Newport has more to offer. Funny thing, this video just popped up on my list. Yesterday as you were driving down on the Bay Front, as we call it, to see the boats and bridge I saw my car. I hope you or any of your viewers drop on by. I'll buy you a cup of chowder at the Chowder Bowl.
Morning Russ! 🙋That looks like a fun town! Not only is the water flat and the clouds reflective, there's one red boat! Perfection! Glad to know you're going to take a little break. There's a lot more summer ahead! ☀️
I just wanted to share a couple tips for travelers: If searching for fast internet while traveling, try stopping by the town library & taking your laptop in & inquiring. I live in the Midwest of U.S.A., & often times the town libraries have fast internet & will let visitors/guests who don't even have a library card there use their Wifi. Also, if ever looking for a safe free spot to park in a pinch, use a hospital parking lot.
@@playhooky I grew up in a town a little smaller than that, so totally get why you'd suggest such being from a town that size. Most of the noisey ones I've been to have been 100k or more.
Russ, that’s the Oregon coast, sunny, misty, rainy, and windy. The Willamette Valley has been warm, partly sunny, and sunny. I always carry rain gear when I ride my motorcycle on the coast. Was at Newport a week ago. Same weather, a little misty. You could of gone to Nye Beach which is west. Shops and food.
Hi Russ. I have been watching your videos on a, Acer Predator XB321HK bmiphz 32-inch IPS UHD (3840 x 2160) NVIDIA G-Sync Widescreen Display. In full-screen mode, your videos are so clear, it is almost like being there. Your wide shot of the bridge you crossed 4:50 is crisp, clear, pristine, and beautiful! Keep up the great camera work :-)
On the south side of that bridge there's a nice RV park with a big blacktop dry camping area, with a decent sized brewery that has tours and samples. Some really interesting beers. The problem with that area is that there are too many great places to stay.
Hi my name is Shawn I've been watching you do your blogs and I've been following you throughout your journey I live in Newport Oregon and I would love to do what you do but I already live here maybe we can meet up next time you're in town and have a drink and dinner .
Well three things you can say for Oregon, beautiful scenery, great seafood and lots of rain. If I lived there I'd weigh 600 lbs soaking wet after eating all that crab and fish. YUM Happy trails.
your words "once you cross'' (the bridge) makes me remember Sleepy Hoollow "once you cross that bridge the spell is gone"...love your videos thanks for posting
@@buckreynolds1779 Awesome! I'm making a comeback here shortly. Started putting out regular videos again. Hoping to meet up with Russ sometime in July. Don't be a stranger, OK.
Love watching your videos. I feel like you have had kind of low mic sound though recently. I like hearing your take on things, so please consider an adjustment.
The Oregon Coast is a very wet and blustery environment, often subject to gale force storms and winds, so structures take a beating. Alot of what you've seen on the bridges is mostly coating and corrosion maintenance as well as occassional repair.

Good historical background on the lighthouse. Thank you.
You have the most relaxing channel on RUclips. It feels like I'm in the passenger seat with you and everything's gonna be okay.
Everything is going to be OK. Just sit back and relax.

What a cool town & the views around the bridge. I see myself spending time around there. Thanks for the tour Russ.
Bridge columns from the Art Deco era. Built by the WPA during the Depression.
I love those old fishing harbors... I could sit and watch that all day!

All of Oregon looks like heaven! Ive only been to Cannon Beach on a cruise stop in 2006. Hope you go there and film around there if you do.
I like Cannon Beach. Its been some time since I enjoyed that stuff.
Cool stuff around Tillamook... Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City, Cape Lookout, and Cape Meares. Mears especially!

I agree with these tips, especually in the Midwest. Only issue with the hospitals for overnighting is they can be noisey some times.

Wow, you really packed this video with a bunch of nice sites inspite of all the rain. Beautiful area. TY. 😊👍
thanks for taking me back home
Russ, Check out Barview County Park. I camped there with friends about30 years ago. It was free and had showers and flush toilets.
Its likely no longer free due to abuse from the last economic downturn.
I love the Oregon coast. I musta lived there in a past life. Thanks Russ for the awesome videos. It brings back great memories.
Beautiful clear footage-thanks! Safe travels
Very cool video... You need to wear one of your RVerTV sweatshirts or teeshirts :)
True story. Russ, who knows wearing them might get folks to purchase them.
That is not bad weather, that is normal weather. LOL. Too bad you missed the lighthouse. It's a nice one. Maybe next time.

Dennis, where is your farm?
In wet Northern Indiana
@@dennislinn9151 I grew up on a farm so was just curious. Do you get away during the winter, or is there too much equipment maintenance?

Enjoyed the drive and the tour today ---dont forget Depoe Bay on your way to Tillamook
I'm with Jenny I really like Depoe Bay. There is even a peninsula you can do some whale watching off.
Very cool!!! Thx Russ!

good cheese in tillamook
The best cheese if you ask me. Only thing better is maybe the Swiss cheese made by the Amish in Ohio.
