I received my copy of the reprint today. A word of warning to any magicians that struggle with fine print... this edition of the book looks like it has a different layout than the edition shown in this video, and the font is tiny. I have no issues with it, but if small print is a challenge for you, you may want to see a copy of this book in person before ordering.
The spot you did for Don's Magic brought back some great memories. That cool green colour cover of Houdini on Magic stands out for me. It was the first magic book I ever bought (as a kid in the mid 70s)
You know it would be a cool video (and controversial) if you were forced to name the first book a person should buy or the one and only book a person could buy. Of course no one would agree but it would be a real thought experiment.
I forgot about that bullet trick. One day I'm gonna perform that for freinds and it'll be awesome. His cylinder and coins effect is the first and only one I've read to this day. It's my favorite.
@@EruditeMagicthe little essays near the front are essential reads. It was also the first place I really considered direction of attention in sleight of hand. Which is essential for really fooling hard hitting magic
There has been several times I almost bought this book in the used market. I’m glad I never did because now I can get a brand new copy and be the first person to crack it open! Ordered a few days ago and I keep checking the tracking like a maniac 😂 Great video and review!
Thanks, Sean! Glad you waited. I bought my copy a few months ago, and you can see that it's not in the best shape. But there's certainly nothing wrong with the contents!
Great investment and educational read a must to learn from. But maybe for the newer generation a video tutorial of the 43 effects who would be able to produce this is open to only the truly skilled

Awesome! May need to grab a copy.
Hope you do, Zack!
Always love when books come back into print.

Good to know - thanks for sharing, Jim!

That was my first book also. I wonder how many others would say the same thing.
Interesting!

It's a good one, and illustrates his approach to magic so well!
This book is NOW on my wish list. Thank you Jeff!
Haha, YW 😉
One of my favorite books on magic
Nice! What makes it one of your favorites?

I spent a small fortune on this one back in ‘03 or ‘04.
Like I say, don't overspend because something is out of print! Hope you enjoy the content regardless!
Great book and review😊😊😊
Thanks, Robert!
Got my copy at Penguin magic for 49$!!!

You do need to have the ability to read and digest written content, but I've made some videos to help out with that.
Great review! Not for me though. You the man :)
Thanks, George. What makes it not for you? Just curious.
Card heavy book and I've got enough card tricks :)@@EruditeMagic
