I have recently been getting into magic books as a 22 year old. I wish there were more hours in the day so I can read and understand all the material. I have bought countless individual tricks and downloads but there is a special charm about learning a trick from a book. One good trick from any given book can be worth it's weight in gold.
I continue to watch your program, although sporadically. You always have a good take on the subjects. This was a very nice selection of OOP - something for everyone.
Because of this, copies of The Vernon Touch started appearing in the second hand market at better prices. Thanks, Jeff. Been holding my breath for the reprint of John Bannon’s Mr Fantasy… since 2023.
@@EruditeMagicI think that @Dr. Tinkerpaw is referring to The Art of Mentalism which is different from Artful that you mentioned in this video? BTW: Great stuff and thanks for these videos. I enjoy them very much.
Oh boy what an awesome list of books!!!!Nice to hear that some may come back into print.Would luv ANYTHING by the legendary Harry.L. But they all would look great on my shelf 😂.These books have a good reputation of having excellent magic/mentalism content.Wonderful topic.Luved it.Thanks Jeff.
I remember at Magic Live, Johnny Thompson lectured on Charlie Miller. He called out Richard Kaufman to publish a compilation of Miller articles from Genii’s Magicana like he did with The Vernon Touch. Kaufman said he would and he did. Both books were special add ons to subscriptions of Genii. It a deal that is hard to pass.
I’m missing two magic periodicals that I want really badly the pallbeaers review by Karl fulves I’ve heard lot of old timers say this is there all time favourite magazine and also I want really bad ibidem by Howard Lyons which is the classic Marlo magazine

Thank you, Jim! I was just talking about your book collection with a friend in India. Let's catch up soon

Thankyou for sharing.
Of course - my pleasure!
Terrific episode. Completely agree about Cassidy books. Following your recommendation , I got the Baker book recently. Mind blowing.
Love hearing that - the Baker book is worth its weight in gold!
As always, great job Jeff!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another excellent presentation of books. Thank you for your efforts.
My pleasure, friend!
A year ago you mentioned Bob Cassidy's, Art of Mentalism was going to be republished. Any updates as to when that will happen.
As I mentioned in this video, fingers crossed for 2024 🤞
Reading it now and so far it is really great. I’m not that far in, but something tells me that this is going to be in the top ten of my collection.

For me, Alain Bellon’s Obsidian Oblique is my number one OOP book that impacted me.
What made it so special for you?
What a great list of books, like John Bannon, and Harry Lorayne 😊👏😊👏😊🎉
Thanks, Robert! Glad you like those guys

Do you have both?
Yes I do
I have no interest in card magic but I really liked your personal explanation of the usefulness of the Bannon book
Thank you! Glad you found it useful
Apocalypse great series, unfortunately still have not found the black edition 😢
Hang in there, you'll find one. But don't overspend for it!
Black edition is currently sold on Lorayne's website. Occasionally, shows up on ebay.
Great tip! ☝️

Hopefully you'll find a way to obtain them for a reasonable price
Can you make a review on Daniel Madison..Devilry. Everybody seems afraid to do one.
I don't know it 🤷
@ Daniel Madison’s book on card magic, basically his life’s work
Psychedelic count down.
😄 gotta mix it up every now and then
I have them all, but I hope the rights to the books of Darwin Ortiz are owned by somebody that will keep them available for future magicians.
Good question - not sure who owns the rights...
