Guessing no standalone means that they’ve realised the processing power or ram isn’t sufficient… I’m not buying until it’s available standalone because I use the MPC to get away from my computer/phone.
Making beats in controller mode using the mpc as an instrument is so much better for workflow purposes. Js
Yo, I installed the software just to use the stems and went into control mode, and I am not lying it feels the same. It's actually pretty dope.

I got the stems connected to my laptop saved them in my SD card and unplugged from laptop. Started to create a dope beat on my Standalone.

I too am a fan of using my MPC X in standalone. I am just using the software to separate stems, saving the stemmed out samples/program to my SSD, and then closing out the software and using my normal workflow in standalone. Whatever you save in the software will still be available to you in standalone if this helps anyone else. It's an extra step, but for all of those who prefer not being attached to the computer, this is the way to go!

Bought the Live 2 about a month ago and im not really disappointed by not having stems yet. Gives me time to learn the unit a bit more n still challenge myself to chop samples regularly.

There are lots of other option; LALAI, FL, RipX, Stemroller (free). Lots of beatmakers using this tools for a long time?! Nobody really need AKAI stems I think...

So the video is made in software mode? When i switch to controller mode i can only use my MPC by PC in DAW. Or i do sth wrong
So... do I need to install some MPC software on my laptop to work with stem separation? If so, say I download something from splice onto my MPC, do I then need to manually upload that to the laptop to separate it into stems?

I'm definitely considering the course, but would it also apply to the MPC Studio? I bought one not too long ago, but I've yet to really use it. I've gotten it setup and working on my M1 Macbook Pro, but haven't gone any further than that. Thanks!
Depends … I hav a Studio and they say it’s now a “legacy” item which can’t support this new software. Lame.

I connected my MPC Live 2 to my MacBook Pro as a controller and I did everything that guy did without looking at the laptop’s monitor. You don’t need to manipulate your laptop to get the actual MPC Stems experience.
I’ve paid for the mpc stems and have mpc beats on my computer is this all I need to get it to work? I paid for stems weeks ago and can’t figure out how to use it

Since the activation is through your inmusic profile. I am assuming you have to be connected to the internet to use the stem feature..?
Great question and it’s actually just an update your purchasing so once you update your computer, it is installed and no need for Internet connection once you have it installed

I been stuck on the startup screen since trying to update in December! But hopefully Akai’s support team can help me get it resolved! I’ve been back and forth the past 2 weeks with them and I’ve tried nearly everything but it just stays frozen!?

Cause I can’t get mine to work at all even after trying to hard reset and also trying to power on in update mode
Make sure you use the same e mail you used to set up your in music profile. You have to activate it through "in music"
not sure if your issue resolved yet but i had the same problem for a minute. about 30 minutes to an hour later it started working; i think servers were down and it took a minute for it to roll out to everyone
Can MPC touch use steam?
Hi guys, I’ve been trying to use stems on the desktop mpc software, have updated bought stems and activated it as well. But when I load up a sample and press create stems my MPC application window closes, so pretty much it doesn’t let me use stems although I’ve paid for it activated it etc. I tried to use my mpc live in controller mode as well and stems shows up on my mpc live but again when i press create stems the app on the computer closes and disrupts the connection with my mpc causing it to switch back to standalone where stems is not available. Lmk if anyone got the same issue cause I’ve been looking and it seems most ppl had the issue of activating it rather than its functionality. Thanks :)
Malo > I use MPC One standalone. Thinking about putting MPC Beats on my laptop...I have seen on Akai's videos about how you can process the seems in controller mode and then shoot them back to your SD card and then simply work in standalone once again with the stems. Also, watching you use the software with the availability of different plug ins has made me curious to get it ago. I guess this question is for all of who work in Standalone waiting for stems...isn't this an easy work around...plus other benefits? Do I just need the free version of MPC Beats use Stems and all other 'basic functions' Can you explain...?

No, you just have to activate it from the downloads section in your inmusic account
Yes, you have to pay $10 and you will have the update to install in your computer then in a few months it will be out in standalone

Yes it’s available for the MPC DAW as of right now, then in a few months it will be available in standalone

Make sure to update your softwaer to 2.14. After the purchase is made,, go to your preferences and then activation. Make sure you are logged in. If so, then just got to your sample edit, press process at the bottom and scroll to Create Stems.

@@culdavidworkflow is pretty much the same thing. Once you get the software started you can just start working on your MPC like you do in standalone. When you want to work on your mix or move around midi notes you can have an expanded view of your mixer and the midi grid. I thought I would hate the whole thing and stuck to standalone for years. I am really digging using it in controller mode! I thought it would be too much computer messing after hearing everyone talk about it, but I was surprised!

This shit is so stupid why not release it for standalone lol. Man I got it but for some odd reason it wont let you select it on the activation list in the software to activate it. Why? i can activate everything else.
You should have been able to download the software update first, then when you go into your activation list when you see stamp, separation click to activate and type in your activation code, and should start running for you

Does the maschine mk3 do stems better?
It doesn't do it at all. Of course you can add plugins, but it's not supported in the native workflow.
