Awesome footage!! I really loved the remark about loving conifers! One Anza-Borrego peak I really want to hike is San Ysidro Mountain (6,147') which is in the northwestern part of the park, south of Comb's Peak (6,193')

Thanks, Brian I appreciate that. I kind of figured you would like that remark about conifers. Thanks to you I've learned much more about them through your spotlight videos. I've hiked up to Combs before, but not San Ysidro. San Ysidro Mountain is definitely on my short list for a future video too!

@@hikingwChris I am waiting until the mud on the dirt road to San Ysidro's trailhead dries and then it's go time!!

Love all the information you give on your hikes. Also, I’ve just realised what the ‘Laurel and Hardy’ song ‘On the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia’ and the verse ‘the trail of the lonesome pine’ was all about! 🤦🏻‍♀️ (I did watch it when I was young), when you mentioned the ‘lone pine’. 🤣
(If you don’t know what I’m on about, just type it into RUclips) Also, what was that scary looking tree called after the single pine tree video segment.
And finally well done for reaching a 100 subscribers 😊xx

Thanks for the great comments as always! I'm not familiar with the song, but I will certainly look it up. The term "lone pine" is frequently used in many locations in California, there's even a town close to the Sierra Nevada range called Lone Pine.
I think the scary looking plant you are referring to is called Cholla, and with good reason to fear it. The needle sharp spines pop off or almost jump off the plant when brushed against. It has happened to me in the past and it's very unpleasant.
