Why are dog owners so brain dead ? Small group just led Rex the Wonder Dog within ten feet of my towel to take care of business ! All the while smiling. Beach is pretty empty. Be more considerate ! Be more SANITARY !
I don't know, man....
Love the Crack effect...
@@megls75 Thanks 👍
Very cool 😎. It's good to have Hiking with Chris back.
@@AndrewOdea-g4b thanks, I'm not sure for how much longer, but I'm back nonetheless.
very nice
Thanks 👍
DON'T GO UP TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP WITHOUT ME (C)2006
I make sure not to.
October is a perfect time for this hike. Try Mount Washington in New Hampshire.
Absolutely, I love Fall weather. I definitely plan to summit Mount Washington next time I visit New Hampshire.
Just Beautiful 💕 Hope you’re ok? x
Is Bernie Sanders narrating your videos?
Hi Chris. Nov 20, 2023
Hello
Smokin' views up there!!
What a beautiful day out there!
Yes it was!
"Promo SM" 😓
What state is river in❤❤❤
California, San Diego County.
Beautiful thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Absolutely, it's my pleasure!
As a kid growing up in California, I saw one at least twice as long crossing a dirt trail.
Wow, that must have been an amazing sight!
What's it like there in the winter does that water freeze, how cold does the weather get?
Depending on how much rain falls, the water could be rushing through. At about 3,200 feet above sea level at that latitude, it occasionally snows in the winter. The snow usually melts quickly and the temperature is usually above freezing enough in the winter for it not to freeze.
@@hikingwChris heck yeah, thanks man
meow
I certainly hope so...
Love that you’re Keeping it real Chris! “Oh No!” 😉 x
Thanks, Paula! I thought that the little accident was pretty funny!
@@hikingwChris Yes definitely! 🤣
Top Tune, Top Short! 😊
Thanks Paula, I really appreciate the great comments! You're my best RUclips cheerleader 📣!
@@hikingwChris I’ll always be your Cheerleader 📣 not just on RUclips 🙌🙋🏻♀️😊x
Love the Fall noises 😊
Yes, I agree completely! Those are the zen moments Alan Watts talks about when he references a great Zen master who said "the sound of rain needs no translation."
@@hikingwChris It definitely doesn’t need a translation! Water is Zen to me.
A flashback to Heidelberg 😂
I still miss Heidelberg, I don't really like cities these days; but I would like to visit Heidelberg again!
@@hikingwChris must admit I’m not a city person either, but I’d love to go back to Heidelberg. A reunion needs to be had at some point.
Awesome review. The best beers that I've had were German and smaller breweries. Keep the reviews coming.
Thanks, I agree German beers are the best! I plan to add beer reviews as a permanent series!
I loved this video. It felt like I I was hiking with you. Your enthusiasm for the mountain and its changing tree areas is both informative and contagious. You really seem to love your hikes.
Thanks so much! That is exactly the feeling I want viewers to have. I really loved being in that forest, I'm not surprised that it shows.
Literally live right by there loo
So cool, my Dad lives right around the corner!
Love this 💕
So do I, it's a very peaceful place.
Great video, wow what views and fab information along the way! Just wondered, when you were on the stone trail it looks like a stream could have gone through there? Also, I was hoping your dad was going to make an appearance. Congratulations on your new subscribers 😊xx
Thanks Paula, I appreciate it. There were several streams of water on that mountain. Apparently, it's been a very rainy ☔ year. My father probably would have made an appearance, but I wasn't sure where I was going to find him.
Wow is so beautiful!!!
I agree, I really want to see more of that area!
No
It's true, I've been to the General Sherman Tree, I can spot one from a mile away!
Thanks rlly wanted to see what I looked like bc it’s heading towards my house
I'm glad it helps. Be careful out there.
@@hikingwChris THANK YOU
What’s stone stalling? (If that’s what you said) Awesome rock formation! Thank you 😊
I'm not sure what it is. I don't remember what I said. I will have to watch it again to figure it out. I appreciate it though.
😮
Pretty cool, huh?
Love seeing a little extra sunshine in those socal hikes! Cheers from the PNW <3<3
I appreciate the kind words, it is really nice to read that.
That marine layer has been so thick in the last 2 weeks!
It really has been, and dropping down some moisture too!
This is so relaxing!!! Thank you so much!
My pleasure!
Agree, beautiful flowers and scenery!!! Thank you 😊
My pleasure, thanks for the nice comments!
Great video, loads of information as always. Love the horseshoe on the gate. I just wondered, did you learn all the trees/plants information by yourself, or did you do a course? Also, why didn’t you sign the log? Thank you 😊 x
Thanks so much, I appreciate the nice comments! I thought you would love the horseshoe. I study trees and plants all on my own. I didn't sign the log because I think I signed it before on a previous hike.
@@hikingwChris You’ve got a plethora of knowledge about the San Diego Hiking environment, well done you x
@@PaulasFarm thanks again, I really appreciate it.
😀😀 where is that adress... 👍👍

Bummer. I wonder if there is another route. Still a great video of some beautiful trees and shrubbery! Any day outdoors is a good day.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm not sure if there's another route, but it doesn't seem like it. Like you said, any day outdoors is a good day!
Beautiful!!! Love the flowers 🌸, the 🎶 music, the sugar 🌲 pine and those views were amazing! Thank you 😊
Thanks so much, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic video! I loved doing that hike back in 2017! Cloudy that day, though, so less views! The little lizard buddy was a Coast Horned Lizard (Phrynosoma blainvillii), related to the oh-so-abundant Fence Lizards we see so often!
Thanks Brian, I appreciate that! It does help to get up there on a clear day. The first time I hiked up there it was cloudy too. Thanks for letting me know what that lizard is. I figured that you would know.
I was thinking about going up there this Thursday but might re-think that due to the heat. That's a tough hike, haven't been up there is a few years.
That would be a good choice, heat is a real threat. I almost gave up early because it was warming up and very little shade the first couple of miles. I'm glad that I decided to tough it out though.
Wow!!! Those little creatures really blend with the sand! Great camuflaje!
Yes, that little lizard really impressed me with its camouflage!
Beautiful little flowers!!! Love their colors. Thank you!!!
My pleasure, I agree about the colors, there is such a wide variety!
I am quite impressed with this basin to mtn crest adventure! Absolutely astonishing! It has been a few years since I have done a hike of this magnitude, especially with all the bushwhacking you did! AMAZING!!!!!
Thanks Brian, it was a tough hike, so I really appreciate the great comments!
Awesome! I'm kinda late to the show, but great clips! Those palms look more like the native ones (slightly more bluish color in fronds, slightly sparser crown)! That bush with the small purple flowers early on is some kind of Desert Thorn (Lycium sp.)!
Thanks, Brian! Heck, it's never too late, thanks for watching. I'm glad you're good at identifying palms, I have a tough time with them. I was curious about what those flowers were too.
Thanks for a stroll down memory lane! I did this very hike over 7 years ago and remember the awesome scenery there! Those views down Storm Canyon are vertical sorta like the eastern Sierra escarpment! Did you do this hike on Tuesday Apr. 11? Just curious because I hiked Oakzanita Peak that day and noticed that smoke plume from the same area!
Anytime Brian! The nice comments are always appreciated too. That hike was on Monday, April 17. It seems like the Forest Service has been doing prescribed burns more frequently lately.
Wow!!! Beautiful to see and hear so much water! Thank you 😊
My pleasure! I agree completely, it's beautiful.
