Hey man I have the same turbo. 6466. Literally just burnt up the turbine wheel last night from running lean. And it made the sound yours makes when you let off. Run your tune rich!
Lol, it does return to the neutral position. And it's really not floppy. It's a brand new housing and new bushing. It's just a full throw and my shifter is like 20 foot tall. I don't really like it at this point. As for the gear cut time, it can be setup without the use of a dyno, the same way I tuned my car.
Rabid Jz yep yep, my marlin crawler r154 took a dump on a 1-2 shift. Ended up being the shift forks “over shifting” wore them down on the shift edges and took a bunch of other stuff with it. Didn’t break thrust washer though and I am 620+ TQ
Really looking into this upgrade since I’m at the limits of my marlin crawler r154. Do you think this is worth it compared to going t56 for the street? My car will prolly see a track once a year but I’ll prolly put 15k+ miles on it. The t56 is quite a bit more expensive but I want daily drivability, I get caught in traffic a lot and my twin disc is already about as difficult as I’d like a daily to be lol but those fast shifts have really peaked my interest since everyone is going auto these days.....
Having everything already for the r154, i would say do the dogbox. But the drivability in stop and go traffic will be the same with that twin disk, since you have to use the clutch when taking off
If you have a dogbox, then your car is a racecar and sound is the last thing you're worried about. The box isn't made for daily driving. It is comfortable and streetable though
Hey man. I'm waiting for my gearset. In the meantime. What do you think would be best clutch for a show pony with the occasional strip day but mostly just a blasty Sunday cruiser. I'm currently running 24psi and 784 to the wheels with 624 to.
@@RabidJz I got lucky and scored this CD from a local yard for $200 so I'm only like $800 into it after the adapter and driveshaft. I have a blown r154 though I've had for awhile.
You can watch some of my previous videos to see what parts you'll need from it. If you already have one then I don't see why not. But keep in mind, the clutch and everything everything else you'll need

At what part do you think im losing all my boost. The last clips were full throttle and I lost no boost at all. Hence the wastegate being open still after shifts

Dude you need a tighter & shorter shifter. Cubespeed out of Australia make one of the best shifters for the r154.

How loud is the dog trans? Would u say its unpleasantly loud to drive on the street? Able to be driven daily?

It is alot of fun. But if you're not already an r154, i suggest spending the money on a t56

Is it me or does the shifter have a lot of travel/slop? maybe its the length that throwing me off? besides that, I'm totally jealous

Sounds like you're losing all your boost between shifts. Standard flat-foot shifting actually holds boost and is way faster than that
