Without me realizing, this song triggered the reflex of hiding my stomach (I've suffered constant bullying since the age of 5 cuz of how my body looked, and i remember liking the sight of my ribs when i sucked my stomach to the max and the feeling of pressing my fingers against my pelvis bone but cried at the sight of having a chubby belly and the way my thighs looked when sitting down. Today i love my body but the feeling is still there)

He does, it's a huge change, and I think it's part of the reason I like it. It sounds really vulnerable and, like you said, innocent. It makes me feel bad for him in a way that I didn't feel with his louder songs. Also, silly fun fact, I'm pretty sure Will said he wrote this when he was a teenager!
It's pretty obvious that this song is about eating disorders, but I think it may be anorexia specifically. Cuz if there's one thing I learned from that time I was a Mother Mother fan, it's that Ana can be used to refer to anorexia, and I noticed it in the line "So Ana stands and rends the rancid meat from her bones"
yes im sad about that, i listen to body horror songs ironically, i just like morbid songs while making gloomy art to be on the mood. i thought it was some morbid song , skeleton in your closet kind of meaning. but what tripped me off is how he started talking babying baby talking , theres alot or overlap between ana enjoyers and pdf, that actual people suffering from this also start having their brain slowed and act more childish and are vulnerable to manipulation. you could say they dont have a thick skin lol. so when you actually understand this eating disorder this song just is plain disturbing , i listen to very dark songs but i know the audience dosent take it seriously. however people suffering from this would listen to this unironically to keep going into starvation, and you know theyre young since they dont usually live past 30's
