Fantastic little SUV! Bought one in 2004, at 3 years old, one owner vehicle. Has only 141,600 miles runs perfect! All maintenance religiously performed and use synthetic motor oil. VERY reliable with a great engine. Has never let us down.....EVER. Yes, when Mitsubishi made great vehicles.
Mitsubishi should really consider bringing back all of their discontinued models; it'll help the brand's sales alot.

We've owned two of these and put 190,000 on the first before we sold it. Currently just over 190,000 on the second one and going strong. Underrated and somewhat unknown. There are tons of these still on the road in Central America, Puerto Rico, Australia, Russia and many other markets where they were sold. In places like Costa Rica they are legendary and still used and revered.
سيارة جيدة جدا وأنا أمتلك واحده من هذا النوع ولكن بإسم مختلف وتأريخ مختلف أيضا فسيارتي أسمها مستيبوشي ناتيفيا 2008 سيارة قوية جدا ومايعيبها صرف الوقود وقلة سرعات الغير فهي ب 4 سرعات وكان من الأفضل أن تكون ب 6 سرعات على أقل تقدير لضمان عدم الضغط على المحرك وتقليل صرف الوقود.

yeahhhh. I have to tell you. I have. 2003 Mitsubishi Montero sport Limited with 3.5 liter AWD /4x4. that. Mitsubishi 3.5 liter. powerful than Toyota 4runner 3.4 liter ! and running very long time. 271,412 miles on it. wow!

It's definitely unique styling, I have to say. The door is nicely padded I have to say. Really unique halogen bulbs. It's not your normal SUV. It's very padded. Dude is revving an engine cold, THAT IS A NO NO!. =( very unique BAD dealership, I have to say.
I had a 2003 Montero Sport LS with the 3.0 liter V6 last year. Loved it's off road capabilities and quick stopping distances. (123 ft from 60mph) Got a 2004 Toyota Solara SLE V6 convertible. I think that Mitsubishi should bring this back. They do still sell these in other countries still. Just not in the U.S. IF they do bring it back, they should make sure that it is not underpowered like this one was(Mainly the 3.0 liter V6). The seats in mine were supportive and comfortable. I miss this SUV.

Idk why Everytime I see one they always smoking lol
they have multiple catalytic converters. fixing one requires extra maintenance. besides that and poor gas milage, these are very reliable. Also 3.5L V6 has less problems than 3.0L V6 models.

Ok car. I had one from 2000 and it was an XLS with a 3.0 engine but this type of SUV's aren't as great as other ones out there specially the Toyota SUV's like the 4runner SR5 and the legendary Land Cruiser.
@Tweed Penguin because it doesn't have good hauling capabilities and on top of that Mitsubishi never released a diesel for the US market

Mitsubishi makes amazingly engineered products. Don't care if it's making ugly cars now, but the engines, trans and off road capabilities didn't win it the Paris to Dakar races many many many years... With the Shogun/Montero/Pajero you can't go wrong.
