When I was a teenager my family brought me a drum kit and I copied Rick Bucklers drumming whilst playing the Jam records and the people of Chichester West Sussex used to hear me playing from the town centre . Everyone at school loved The Jam and we were all saddened by their break up. The Jam were one of uks finest bands
They were a massive part of my youth and was lucky enough to see them live several times. Along with the clash, stranglers, banshees etc we were lucky . Happy days 😀
I wish I had been there, sadly before my time. It must have been amazing. Rick Buckler seems a good bloke, not at all bitter.Paul Weller wrote the songs but all three made the Jam the success they were.

On that episode of 'Something Else', the Jam had been preceeded by Joy Division (doing 'She's Lost Control', I think).
