Your Mom is just as bad as him. She allowed it and then gaslit you to believe you were the problem. And for her to apologize on her death bed was the icing on the cake. She had a lifetime to prevent it or after the fact apologize. SHE was trying to get to heaven low key 😩🥺

Why did her mom have to press charges? Law enforcement should have had her taken to the hospital and checked and arrested him. They should be ashamed of themselves.
My mother died when we weren't speaking at the time. She was a selfish unkind woman; cold and controlling yet completely uninvolved with my children and I. I loved her, but I am also relieved that I don't have to experience her scorn ever again. What I'm getting at, is that my mother didn't hurt or injure me nearly as much as your mother allowed to happen to you. Any speaking or kindness that you showed her was more than she ever deserved. I just hope you don't feel guilty for not being there when she passed because I sure don't. It's a peaceful place to be in life. Good luck

You have not walked in her shoes. Abuse is a difficult thing to grasp. There is so much involved. Don’t be too hard on her. She certainly has done her share of suffering.

What a strong woman you are! Thank you for sharing your story. I was hurt too by a neighbor. I only have flashes of memories. I simply cannot remember all the actions only the deep fear. Much later in life, my mother married a man who hit me up for sex. Of course I told her. She never left him, and at one point when it came up she blamed me. That part of your story when your mom blamed you hit me hard. You’re a survivor! I am to. I wish you the best in all you do.

Why would you allow your mom to keep your kids?? Why did you even deal with her. Healing doesn’t mean you have to deal or forgive your mom!! This is how things continue to happen in families. I commend you for surviving and being a beautiful person in spite of.

I would’ve never spoke to my mother again. She would’ve never had the chance to watch my kids. She handled the situation totally wrong and is a horrible mother. Thank God for the aunt… if it wasn’t for the aunt that man would’ve kept doing what he was doing

Tammy is the most courageous individual I have ever heard speak. She is lucky to be alive after the appalling treatment she received from her step father. Prison was to good for him. He deserved worse. It is comforting to know he will not escape judgement when he must give an account of his time on earth.❤

I knew when your mother saw your underwear as a child,....she knew. She knew her husband and she knew what he was doing. Sometimes, I am not trying to justify your mother's behavior, but people who have not processed their own abuse,..childhood SA or other forms of abuse,...they are the worse alleys. Because they have not dealt with their trauma, therefore, cannot help their children. I knew she knew when she saw your underwear, and I guarantee you, that as a child, your behavior changed. Your mom knew and did nothing.
