They're screwed. 2 more years of bad economy, will do them in. Also if that debt isn't fixed or if they need more, it will really be painful. It's time to get original and also put the brakes on comic book movies. That crap was old 5 years ago. Finally, they may have an honest to goodness pea dough problem. Which is really gross and illegal and glaring at this point. Finally, this was my first video, you did a great job! I was surprised when I saw your sub count, so, you got a new sub today. Looking forward to part deaux.
While technically temporary, they have a LOT of headwinds: - Lucasfilm and Pixar haven't had a profitable movie in years and most of the shows they make have terrible ratings. - Disney itself had a massive bomb in the form of Strange Worlds, something even Avatar 2- a very expensive movie- can barely compensate for. - The parks are profitable for now, but if not for them, the company would be losing money. If the US goes into a recession, expect the parks to be hit very hard. - Disney+ continues to bleed money. - Marvel, although by far the strongest single movie division, isn't the guaranteed hit machine it used to be and is generally past its peak in terms of quality and revenue. - Disney's persistent refusal to accept reality and see that most people don't like wokeness will only blind them to the solution for that part of their problem, the solution being to drop wokeness.
@@gen-xboomer thank you so much for joining me! I'm afraid I agree with your assessment of the company. Covid wasn't kind to them and they unfortunately have not set themselves up to weather the coming recession. They need a company culture purge and some fresh movie ideas, like, yesterday
I'm a big Disney parks fan. We used to go multiple times a year. We went for Christmas this year and we're SHOCKED by how low the crowds were the week of Christmas which traditionally were always the most crowded time to go. The Parks have priced people out. What will they do when people just stop going?
People used to be ok with the high prices because Disney parks were head and shoulders above any other theme park. If they can't match the experience to the price, the crowds will start drying up
We were planning on taking our daughter to disney for her bday when shes tall enough for the rides but since disney came out as pro-grooming and anti-customer and general uncomfortably woke...we decided to take our money to universal instead. Super Nintendo world looks pretty damn fun.
@@timoteoseagedetoffol8795 i hear anime cons are super fun, but i'd imagine that's only the case for people that are super into that hobby, and i definitely wouldn't advise taking a kid to one
Quit Disney+ months ago. Did our last Disney trip the week before Christmas. Promise kept to wife and son. SeaWorld and Universal are liked more. Disney won't get any more from us until they change their ways. Quality has been declining for decades. Magic is virtually gone.
I think that's the right call until they put the customer first, and there are too many options for cool vacations to be putting up with a less-than-excellent trip. Especially when you're spending Disney money
Another issue with the parks that needs to be addressed is all the unwanted changes made in the past few years as part of their phony “diversity and inclusion” pushes, such as the politically-motivated changes made to classic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, Tom Sawyer Island, the Main Street Bakery and worst of all trying to retheme Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! All those changes need to be reversed if they want to win back the crowds!
I’ll tell you the problem. Disney used to be a place where families could go together and have a happy magical experience without worrying what in the world you child is going to be exposed to. It used to be a place of innocence and magic, it was special. Disney was alway a cut above, immaculately clean, well maintained, friendly and well… magical. In the last several years we witness constant breakdowns, evacuations from rides, a Jungle cruise boat sinking, a log on splash mountain sinking, and numerous other events that indicate a lack of care. The parks are filthy, the food is terrible, they treat their employees like crap. They have raised prices every year all while taking away services. The rooms suck, and they are hugely overpriced. There is no incentive to stay at the parks anymore. No more free parking, no more early entry, the transportation system is awful, lord help you if you need to get back to your hotel from the parks at closing, it ain’t happening. But to me the worst part is the loss of innocence. Why can’t there be one place in the world where the liberal woke agenda is crammed down our throats at every turn. Disney has made disastrous decisions over the last several years. That 6000.00 hotel catastrophe is sample one out of many. You know, I watched D23 online and oh my gosh, what a dumpster fire that was. Let’s see… the big announcements were… 1 new animatronic in the HM, 1 new character meet and greet, a ride that has been being built for 5 years will open, and, oh yeah, some fantasy of building a new land? Hahahaha😂, can you imagine the timeframe on that? Walt would hate what his dream has become.
Seriously almost deleted this comment because it sums up my Part 2 video too perfectly! I need people to come back and watch and you're giving away all my points! They need to get back to childhood magic. Every single complaint people have about the company can be traced back to that.
@@gregowen2022 first sorry for lol my typos, but I think you got it. Second, I’m sorry for stealing some of your thunder. 😂 I grew up in Florida and my first visit to WDW was in Jan 1972. We went to the parks t lest once a year my whole life. I Know what it used to be and I hate what it has become

@@donnymiddlebrook a great decision for us because it's better they bought Fox and not Paramount or Universal. But for Disney not so much. When Bob Iger bought Fox he put Disney in debt. And also they canceled a lot of movies they got all foxes garbage sequels and stuff that got bad overtime they had blue sky but they shut Blue Sky down which is one of the only few things that was still good about fox.
I wish FOX had bought Marvel. I thought FOX did a great job with the X-men. Would've been cool to have seen what they could've done with other characters.
@@mustang6599 They have SOME content people want, and you can cancel anytime you want. It's no wonder they're losing money (for now) on their streaming service.
Huh, so you're a Ravenclaw....Hmmmm, I'm a Slytherin myself, not sure how to interpret this...but ignoring that yeah Disney just keeps bombing one after the other. They left Star Wars in ruins, the MCU is held together on stupidity and prayers from the fools still buying into the hype, the animated media is borderline nonexistent and their parks are progressively becoming worse, to say nothing of all the crappy live action remakes. I imagine by 2023's mid point, they'll need to start making serious changes as they can only lose money for so long.
It's easy to get along with us, just toss me a crossword puzzle or a kakuro and I'm your friend. Yeah, there is a looming recession and covid didn't treat them kindly. They are not in a good spot to weather the storm and they will need to make some drastic changes to stay afloat
I disagree that Disney can be saved..they are completely beyond saving at this point and the stock price is finally catching up to that fact. Most families, like me, have stopped evaluating their movies on a case by case bases and have completely rejected the entire franchise. Their once lucrative brand recognition is now WORTHLESS!
I agree that the brand is definitely tarnished. People have spent years trying to ignore the bad stuff but it's taking over. The only solution for the company, imo, is to fully reject social politics and get back to just making childhood magic movies
@@gregowen2022 They could do this but they probably won't. They are losing money for quite some time now but with every flop movie they produce they double down on their woke bullshit, everytime.

The only good things now about Disney are the parks. I live in SoCal, so I’ve been to Disneyland a bunch. Only been to florida once for Disney, but based on the Anaheim parks themselves, I ONLY support them as PARKS, not for the company. Obviously, the wokeness and the sexualization of children are troubling, that’s more in the movies and toys and such. While I’m TECHNICALLY supporting Disney with the parks, I go there because they’re amazing PARKS, NOT for Disney. The parks are run by people cooking the food, operating the rides, selling you merchandise, all desperate from the VERY questionable decisions by Disney execs and CEOs.
This does not surprise me. It annoys me when people say Disney is liberal. They’re not. They’re just trying to make money. If they actually cared about minority groups they would represent them as real people instead of tokens
Disney won’t ever fix itself until Iger is gone. He’s the architect of modern Disney. And a year after this video, Galactic Cruiser is now closed and D+ is losing so many subscribers they are jettisoning content from the service.
something else that's absolutely disgusting, specifically at the parks, is the cleanliness of them. There is gross black stains on multiple ride vehicles throughout the parks and even as bad as what looks like black mold growing in Toy Story Land at DHS. Trash everywhere... I'm sorry, I'm not about to spend $200 a day on six flags level maitenance. "Fuck you very much" LOL that was brilliant. I'm borrowing that. The issue for the appeasing the woke is that that branch will scream until your ears bleed, but then they don't fork over the funds to support you supporting them. They just expect it. They don't actually want it, or care, BUT YOU BETTER CARE!!! *points angry finger at you* 🤣
That's so sad to hear. Disney used to be famous for their attention to detail and cleanliness. You bring up a good point about the size of the audience they are catering to. Normally, trying to expand your business is a good idea, but Disney is aggressively catering to a small audience that can't afford to support the company
They really do. Part 2 will definitely deal with this new mature Disney that doesn't have villains. It's antagonists are The Weight of Expectations or Childhood Trauma. Personally, I don't want mature themes from Disney, I just want childhood magic
After creating new movies/streaming tv shows that are popular with children, Disney needs to create new rides around the movies at theme parks. Otherwise Disney parks will become/already are no different than other theme parks around the nation. You can't expect children to like attractions based off of cartoons 20+ years ago.
If Disney wants to change and get better they need to stop focusing on woke and listen to their fans. And most importantly they need to sell some of their properties they got way too many of them which is not helping their originality. But I doubt Disney's going to do any of this stuff anytime soon
I agree. They thought social justice politics was the future and they missed. They need to break away from it and get back to the style of movies from 15 years ago

Great video! Can't wait to see the second part. I would only add that Disney will probably face even bigger problems once Epic Universe opens in Florida in 2025 (if this new park is as amazing as Universal says it will). WDW has become incredible expensive all around (not just the parks but dinning and even hotels as well) but it still brings in a lot of cash for the company. Much much more cash than their suscription service, which is actually loosing money. But, will the tides change in 2025? Could crowds go to Florida to spend their money in Universal marking WDW as a "maybe, if I have time"? Time will tell.
Thanks for watching! You're right, they will need to reinvest in the parks and cast to keep it going. I was at Universal a couple years ago and it had really cool attractions, but there has always been something about the culture of the employees at Disney. I'll say a lot of bad things about the company, but the cast members at the parks are giving some of the best service of any industry. If the company doesn't keep them happy and that attitude slips, the parks are doomed
It’s been years since I’ve set foot in a Disney park but judging by all the videos I’ve seen of how prices have gone up, maintenance have gone down and the overall attraction of other theme parks have more or less dominated the park going experience for everyone, I don’t think that I’ll be coming back to one anytime soon.
It's unfortunate to hear about but I'm afraid I agree. My last trip six years ago was excellent, but I can't justify taking my six kids if the trip is anything less than exceptional
"Disney food has been pretty standout as far as theme parks go".......Sarcasm, right? I live in S. Ca and for as long as I can remember, the food at DL SUCKS!! A $20 burger at DL make a 1/4 Pounder at Mc D's taste like a 3" filet Mignon......Even the food at the Blue Bayou has been terrible for the last 5 yrs, BUT.....everybody's taste are different. IF there was ANYTHING I would address, at DL, above the escalating prices, the bad treatment of guests, would be to scrap ALL their food vendors and start over........making a GOOD hamburger or sandwich isn't rocket science.......
The problem I have with parks is their insistence on park reservations and capping attendance at the parks. This sets the upper limit on daily ticket sales and in-park spending. The only way to increase park revenue is to 1) raise prices (which they are doing and pricing many out of attending), 2) expand park capacity with more lands (kinda happening, but way too slow - why 5 years for TRON and Guardians? All that capital spending and no revenue for 5 years) or 3) open a new gate (new park - Disney is too slow for this). The old system sort of regulated itself - if the park got too full, people would venture to other places- especially pass holders who could park hop and catch the busy park another day. The next problem is Genie to me is a disaster. You cannot plan a day till morning-of. The old FP system allowed the morning rides to be planned several months ahead, then work around a dinner, more rides or a show in the afternoon. It was simple, easy to comprehend for most guests, and guests would gladly pay for it. The fact they brought Mackensie onboard (Ive worked with them) means they are desperate to cut costs.
You're right, they need to expand if they want to handle the peak crowds. The Tron expansion really confused me. It's a cool classic, but is it really drawing park goers? It seems to support the idea that Disney wants to cater more to childless adults (who admittedly have more money). I haven't used genie yet but it sounds awful and stressful. Last time I was in the park, I got a fastpass wrist band and I planned our trip in advance, as you said. It was excellent
This is why I have plans to carry out a hostile takeover of Disney and undo all traces of Iger through policies of De-Igerfication much like the Denazification of Germany after WWII while preaching "Make Disney Great Again!" Disney under my rule will be making all decisions by asking one simple question: "What would Walt do?" The same mantra that once governed all decisions at Disney for decades after his death. I'll be reversing budget cut after budget cut, bringing back hand-drawn animation with a core group of animators like Walt's Nine Old Men and others like Glen Keane, Floyd Norman Mary Blair, and John Hench, remove all IP based attractions from EPCOT, undo woke changes to attractions like Pirates and the Jungle Cruise (which will be happening eventually anyways), releasing Song of the South (even if it triggers a massive boycott), shutting down Disney+ to get out of streaming while championing theaters and traditional media, bringing back old attractions like they never left such as The Great Movie Ride, Maelstrom, Horizons, original Journey into Imagination, California Screamin', Tower of Terror in California, the Golden Horseshoe Revue, getting rid of the reservation system in the parks along with any line-skipping service, get rid of MagicBands, put an end to the "exit through the gift shop" business model in the parks perfected under Paul Pressler and Cynthia Harriss, end synergy between the studios and the parks, increase maintenance and cleanliness, and mainly cater to Disney traditionalists in the parks. It will also be the end of Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar in the parks as well but that's going to be happening anyway due to Disney eventually being broken up by Capitol Hill under antitrust so that means no more ownership of Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Muppets, ABC, ESPN, etc.
I think Disney losing Star Wars is a good thing. For two reasons. 1. It means that a different company can pick it up and clean up the mess. 2. It might mean that we don’t se Rey anymore
@DDOG2006 I can tell you as someone with access to time travel that Splash Mountain is still there for WDW's 75th in 2046 and Disneyland's centennial in 2055. Also by then Galaxy's Edge along with all Marvel and Pixar attractions are all gone following the trust busting of Disney.
Truthfully I've never really been a fan of their parks. I went twice as a small child but have never wanted to go again. My gripe with Disney is just that they bought these IPs that I care about (Marvel and Star Wars) and have just been the absolute worst custodians of them. The pre-Disney MCU clearly had Adam Warlock teed up to appear in Infinity War part II (which became end game) but pulled a hard left turn to shoehorn in Captain Marvel who fell completely flat and honestly ruins any scene she's in. And then just the utter ineptitude of embarking on a Star Wars trilogy without lining up writers and directors for all three movies, failing to put Han, Leia, and Luke on screen together, then turning the whole thing over to JJ Abrams who is perhaps hollywood's laziest, flashiest hack. The insane mismanagement of cherished IPs is what has made Disney's name trash for me and I don't reaqlly know how they can win my trust back. Also it goes without saying that I am NOT a disney+ subscriber anymore.
Your idea of hope is different than mine. I hope that they die and never return. Disney's crimes are too severe so justice can only come with the death penalty. It's time for a completely new company to make content for children.
Look, I can't fault anyone for feeling as you do. the company has been in a bad state for a long time. Looking at the history of the company, however, I see some good things worth saving, if we could just cut out the rot
After comparing Disney Pinocchio 2022 with the Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, it couldn't be more clear, the quality of Disney is abismal this days. There was nothing memorable with Marvel phase 4 either, just plugs for the next product.
Honestly as with all companies, Disney needs to radically change from a big corporation to an independently owned furry-dominated art house. As a furry, Disney fan and socialist, this is my honest opinion!
I'm not sure how much longer they can make the garbage. A recession is on the horizon and things are looking gloomy. Personally, I'm rooting for a redemption story
I went to Disneyland last year in November I gotta say I took my family to that Mexican restaurant that invited Doritos, it literally had no flavor and it was just tacos 🌮. I know it’s just theme park food but it was very disappointing. I would compare it to the pizza in Tomorrowland. It was that bad.
I don't feel bad for Disney one bit. There is no excuse for what they did to Marvel and Star Wars. Disney chose to degrade the quality of the Marvel comics, animation, and video games to make everything in line with the silly light hearted MCU. Disney chose to erase the EU, make that shitty sequel trilogy, attack fans, and not fire Kathleen Kennedy years ago. I used to buy around $100 worth of comics every month, but thanks to Disney chasing the "modern audience" twitter crowd I am left with Amazing Spider-Man being the only current Marvel comic I buy. I don't even bother with Star Wars anymore, not even the Mandolorean. The New Jedi Survivor is the only Star Wars product I am looking forward too. Capcom apologizing for Resident Evil 6 and DMC with Resident Evil 7 and Devil May Cry 5 I can accept. Square Enix apologizing for the original Final Fantasy XIV with A Realm Reborn I was very supportive of. Even though I generally liked the New 52 I took DC Rebirth as a sincere way of apologizing and attempting to make things right with their core fans. But with Disney they not only made shitty products but attacked us long term fans. People like be buying new comics every Wednesday are the reason the normies have their shitty MCU films. Us Star Wars fans keeping the franchise alive in the 90's and late 2000's with comics, video games, Clone Wars, and toys were told these new movies weren't made for us and called all types of horrible names. So yeah Disney won't get any sympathy from me. It is one thing to make a bad product and realize your mistake. It is another to make a bad product for an audience who doesn't exist, attack the core audience, and only attempt to change because the audience you wanted is not as supportive as you think.
You really hit the nail on the head that Disney has been chasing an audience that is 1) largely imaginary (people aren't their real selves on twitter) and 2) not willing to spend money on the product like true fans are. I understand that they wanted broad appeal because they thought it would generate more cash, but you're right that they jumped several sharks and alienated people like yourself who are(were) loyal to a brand. Twitter will turn its mind on a dime as soon as the new shiny social movement gets big, and Disney will be left wondering where all their "fans" went.
Wouldn’t let my kids watch Disney shows on TV as far back as 2005…. They were already teaching kids terrible values back then. That Disney threw all in with wokeness is no surprise to me at all. I’m done with Disney, but admittedly, I’ve been done with them a long time now.
That's a solid point. I pulled back on my kids watching Disney Channel since every episode had dumbass parents being out witted by their kids. Why would I let my kids watch a show that actively undermines me?
@@gregowen2022 Weak dads, manipulation, waste, property destruction, disrespect... it was on and on with bad values in the form of "comedy." It was bad.
What is going woke? It could not be because they were poorly managed. Their most “woke” movie out now is doing ridiculous numbers. So please enlighten?
Bad fact Greg, but you can easily correct in future. If the box office is 800mil revenue on a movie, and needed 5-600mil to break even, they did not make 200-300 million in profit. Domestic theaters take an average of half the box office, foreign range from 25-50%. Also, advertising costs are rarely bundled in production costs and can represent 10-80 million for most movies, even higher on some. They must be accounted for to compute profit.
So they made even less? wow. I read that movies generally need double production budget to break even and wakanda production was $250M, but I didn't think about theater take. That movie can't rightly be called a bomb, but it definitely didn't turn out to be a big enough basket for all the eggs Disney put in.
@@gregowen2022 I agree with you, not a bomb! Yes, I think the 'doubling the take' is rule of thumb for the half the theaters take, but it only applies domestically. China I believe is a straight 25%, the lowest revenue back to creators, and the rest of the world is between 25-50, with I think around 35-40% for average (but could use more recent fact check). The most common mistake is not accounting for advertising, which is rarely reported, so you have to estimate. Bottom line as you indicated is they made FAR less money than the original, despite built in hype. One could argue an underutilized opportunity. Best of luck on a successful chan!
Disney filmed the bad Remake of Mulan in the same region the Chinese military was running concentration camps for all their Uyghurs population then thanked said military. They are dead to me.
I think it's needed. Ever since they lost Lasseter, Pixar hasn't been the same. The MCU won't be profitable forever. They have a lot of assets that are soon to be liabilities
@@gregowen2022 Exactly. Let Lucasfilm have time to heal with John and Dave in charge. Let Pixar find a proper direction to the right path, give Marvel a long rest, and let Disney start from scratch. Sadly it’s only gotten worse in just a few days.

Woke, woke, woke! Endless whining about woke when most of you couldn't describe woke if you had to save your life. Oh, I am sorry . I guess acknowledging the humanity of the LGBT community is just woke. When it all comes down to it with any corporation, money is the only real consideration.
Jon, woke is shallow pandering. It's flatly subbing in some superficial quality in a character so they can feel virtuous. The new Little Mermaid is a good example. And you are correct that it's about money. A company needs it to survive. If you would ask a company to lose money on purpose just so you can feel validated in some way, that's just selfishness on your part
@@jonhinson5701 that word has been taken out of context so bad that when you tell someone after "I just woke up" they may go balls to the walls on telling you you sold your soul yadda yadda yadda. I think you've got the right attitude about it. It can be annoying that there are a thousand streaming services, but it affords us the ability to drop what isn't working Make them earn your subscription!
I empathize with folks wanting Disney to go back the way it was. Tbh I don’t see that happening. Lets make room for the indies who’ll be the next great thing.
Strange World flopped because no marketing. Hell, most of Disneys movies are gonna flop because they keep pushing Marvel, which btw, they can’t pay their people good to get good graphics. So lets do the math: No marketing for animated movies + Bad CGI + badly made Marvel content = A dose of poison to kill our interest in Disney’s media.
Time to break up Disney. ABC, ESPN, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox, Pixar. It all has to go. If there was ever a time for a Sherman Anti Trust Act 2.0 it's now.
Wakanda Forever didn't make 100-200 million because theatres/governments in US/Canada keep roughly 50% of box office , and around 60% - 80% in the rest of the world, (China keeps 75%). You also need to take into account not just the cost of producing the movie but also the cost of marketing the movie (I say Elemental lost a few million dollars if you include its marketing cost) which generally for disney marvel is at least 100 million, quite a few time even more is spent. If the rumors are true that disney, seeing the poor test screenings for Lightyear and especially Strange World, secretly gave those two movie's marketing money to BP2:WF then WF almost certainly lost money. Sometimes disney and other studios can legally but kinda fraudulently "sell" a movie to something like their own corporation's streaming services but that is just one part of the corporation paying another part of the same corporation.
It's insane. The experience in the park is excellent (or was last time I was there 5 years ago) but eventually it will be impossible for most people to justify these prices, especially when every other cost in their life is going up
$1,200 a day for a family of 4 to just walk in the gates is crazy. We could go to Japan for a week doing whatever we want or walk in the gate 3 days at Disney and thats not talking about anything else but admission to the park.
He needed to go so badly. I can't say that EVERYTHING was his fault, so I'm not excited about Iger coming back, but putting down the Chapek shovel was a good first step to getting out of the hole
I suggest just let Disney fully burn. I haven't watched any Disney movie in over 10 years, and majority of the recent Super(Heroin) movies were just........... But Clerks 3 was fricken awesome and Kevin did not sell out which was a bonus.
I want to see them redeemed just because I have fond memories of the older stuff and I want that for my kids. Sadly, I'm afraid it's going to need to burn a bit before they decide to change course
Just got back from the parks in Orlando. Family of 5. Had a fantastic time. The “magic” is still there and the park was busy but not packed. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly as always but you can tell they’re overworked and some can be unhappy. The biggest problem I noticed is the patrons there. Self centered and entitled adults cutting lines and being incredibly rude to staff members. Disney is pricing out larger families in the hopes of getting more adults in the park (I feel) and it’s crippling the magic that was once so present because the audience is changing.
I will always give the most credit to the staff there. Really, they are what separates Disney parks from anywhere else. Disney definitely seems to be targeting the adults, which is a good short term strategy since they have more disposable income. But I think it's a bad idea for the long term. Those adults only love it because they have magical Disney childhood memories. If Disney doesn't invest in today's kids, there won't be Disney adults tomorrow
I still like the history of the company, so I want to see a redemption arc in this story. It's a big company, so they have the resources to do it, but the longer they wait, the harder it will be
@@gregowen2022 At this point it feels like there gonna be gone in the next 2 years or less. I doubt that Avatar magic is gonna work any longer after being the same thing twice.

Hi Disney can be saved but it has to start with management if they walk threw a park or even there office and not take care of things out of place every one start’s to do the same bring back trams at all parks deliver packages to rooms or at least to front of parks but when management thinks they don’t have to pick. Up a bit of garbage or clean the rides then they don’t care and it’s down hill till you become nothing. We went to universal years and years ago dirty park dirt on water fountain from misting fans just bad every ware but now they care and go. Back all the time now I don’t need my phone on vacation there
Very true. I'm not sure if bringing Iger back was the right call. Chapek was only CEO for two years, and Disney's problems have been growing for longer than that
How did park tickets go from 3.50 on opening day (50 years ago) to 109.00 (base price) today? Simple. People KEEP paying the prices. Compare this to cigarette smokers. Years and years ago, when cigarettes were 25 cents a pack, there were those avid smokers that said, if cigs EVER hit 1.00 they WOULD quit! Well???? "Most" of those smokers are STILL paying the exorbitant prices that cigarettes sell for nowadays (if they're still alive). The point is, as long as people KEEP paying Disney's ridiculous prices, all while cutting perks, and obviously NOT putting money back in to the parks (the way they used to) then you can count on Bob Iger and all of the other Disney top brass laughing all the way to the bank! Commenting to one another as to how stupid people are for paying their ridiculous prices, over and over again, no matter how much they raise them! Then high five one another on the their way to the NEXT cost cutting, perk cutting meetings with stock holders and board members!
It really is like an addiction for some folks. The economy is looking a little shaky, so I guess we'll see how park attendance holds up when people's budgets are a little tight
@@gregowen2022 Truthfully, there ONCE was a time that some might say that I had a Disney addiction! Former DVC member and all! Sadly, that all ended a couple of years ago when Disney decided to go "woke" AND started nickel and diming every one for everything PLUS steadily raising their prices. I truly do NOT believe that the current Walt Disney Company is a reflection of Walt (both unaffordable for most families as well as the political wokeness) or what he intended for the "most magical place on earth". Sad! Thanks for the reply!
That's so sad to hear. I haven't been there in about six years, but I recall even their basic items like chicken strips and burgers being excellent by theme park standards. What a shame
You're definitely not alone there. Personally, I'm hoping for a turnaround, but if they don't make extremely drastic changes, I'm afraid bankruptcy may be in the cards
honestly, I don't care if the ideology is woke. if they can't write a proper story without attacking or down-talking their audience with brainless plots and narrow-minded dialogue, their films would have been worth something more. If Arcane is anything to tell us something about telling a 'woke' story, then I can't see why Disney's mishandling of big franchises shouldn't try better with their understanding of character and storytelling.
It's a sad trend with big companies. They just figure they can lazily go with whatever social trend is happening and rake in the cash. It was working for a bit, but they better fix something soon
Ummm... With Disney parks over capacity with guests and their films (avatar) making box office records in making 1.5 billion in two weeks i see no "dying" of Disney.
The parks are packed right now, because they were reserved and paid for a year ago. If the economy hits a rough patch this year, those reservations will drop. Avatar is doing exceptionally well, but it might not be profitable yet. Estimates range from $1.2B to $2B before they actually start making money.
Take a look at their stock price and then tell us they are doing ok. The parks are the ONLY division making money. Disney+ is losing millions of not billions every quarter, they've had flop after flop at the box office these last few years. Just take a look at their balance sheet. I'm not throwing an opinion out there. These are facts. Companies that are doing great don't fire their CEO in the middle of the night. It's fans like you that make Disney confident they can wildly raise their prices because they know you'll continue supporting them. The parks may be at capacity now but an overwhelming majority of those people are saying they don't plan on returning any time soon. Let's see how good the parks are doing in 2 years after they've alienated a large percentage of their fan base and Epic Universe opens which I'm predicting is going to blow anything Disney has done recently out of the water. Considering Universals workforce is compromised largely of ousted Disney imagineers. The mouse is in for a world of hurt and I'm anxiously looking forward to it.
@@Pissgremlin5964 wishing and hoping that Disney will die doesn't mean it will. DISNEY is huge and is growing for a new generation. You as an adult are not what Disney is concerned about. Even with epic at Universal Disney will be the top Dawgs. Watch and learn.

You are incredibly insightful, and you researched each topic extremely well. I am now a subscriber. I can't wait to see more.
Disney may have made some bad casting decisions for misguided reasons but I don't think being "woke" is terrible because it is a mindset that makes you aware of other people's existence and value, and I don't think Disney is "grooming" kids because I'm not a lunatic.
Agreed, some people are so obsessed with politics they see it in every thing. Disney made some terrible business decisions, that's it, there's no hidden agenda behind it.
Do you think that Disney will continue to head down or do you think this rough patch is only temporary?
They're screwed. 2 more years of bad economy, will do them in. Also if that debt isn't fixed or if they need more, it will really be painful. It's time to get original and also put the brakes on comic book movies. That crap was old 5 years ago. Finally, they may have an honest to goodness pea dough problem. Which is really gross and illegal and glaring at this point.
Finally, this was my first video, you did a great job! I was surprised when I saw your sub count, so, you got a new sub today. Looking forward to part deaux.
They will not head down.
While technically temporary, they have a LOT of headwinds:
- Lucasfilm and Pixar haven't had a profitable movie in years and most of the shows they make have terrible ratings.

They won’t stop going
People used to be ok with the high prices because Disney parks were head and shoulders above any other theme park. If they can't match the experience to the price, the crowds will start drying up
The snow impacted this year as lots could not travel
They did that on purpose, to ease crowds and it looks like it has worked.
@jdslyman you know people plan their vacations like a year in advance right? Not the day before. Weather doesn't affect attendance all that much.
We were planning on taking our daughter to disney for her bday when shes tall enough for the rides but since disney came out as pro-grooming and anti-customer and general uncomfortably woke...we decided to take our money to universal instead. Super Nintendo world looks pretty damn fun.
I get it, between Harry Potter and the DreamWorks franchises, Universal is really bringing a lot of value in the last several years
Pro-grooming? Thats a big claim my guy. What have they been doing?

Several years ago I was fired by Disney because I was too effeminate. Now they're claiming to be lgbt friendly.
This does not surprise me. It annoys me when people say Disney is liberal. They’re not. They’re just trying to make money. If they actually cared about minority groups they would represent them as real people instead of tokens

That's so sad to hear. Disney used to be famous for their attention to detail and cleanliness.

Took a break from social media and D+ and I ended up making my own Entertainment Empire overnight with good stories for the family.

I've hated Disney since I was a kid in the 80's. They've always sold lies. I sniffed all this current nonsense out 40 years ago.
I will be first in line at your park, it sounds heavenly!
Line of the day: "If I'm going to Disney in Orlando, I'm not dieting, f**k you very much." lol

Honestly as with all companies, Disney needs to radically change from a big corporation to an independently owned furry-dominated art house. As a furry, Disney fan and socialist, this is my honest opinion!
While I would LOVE to see Disney go under, it's probably not going to happen. They'll just keep making woke garbage forever.

My idea would be to split up the properties and make them start fresh.
It's already going to happen thanks to something called antitrust law.
Around Thanksgiving Disney + sent me an offer for $3 a month. Still not worth it.
That is worth it.
Well, it’s already turned 100, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
And they've been taking it easy too long. Too much rest is bad for an old body like that
Disney Just Keeps Going Woke With Their Media & It Keeps Failing. The Only Reason I Stay With Them Is Because My Favorite Video Game Series Is Kingdom Hearts Which Is 50/50 With Square Enix To My Knowledge.
I never got into that one and all I ever hear is that the game play is fun but the story is bonkers
Well so far Disney hasn't Bought SE, and let's hope that NEVER HAPPENS!
As for the word "like" (that's brutally over used out of context), "woke" has followed that route and I only say it after some hard fought zzzz's.
MCU is up????
They are making good profit and winning their opening weekends, but the overall trend seems to be going down
🗣 *The name DISNEYLAND should be changed to: "DISGRACELAND!"* 👌🏽
How is the fight between Disney and Florida going to affect Disney?
I dropped Disney first and then Hulu and then Apple. Still have Netflix but they are on deck. Parmount Plus is killing it.
Me, a disney fan.... never even heard of strange world... what???!!??!! OMG. XD
Strange World flopped because no marketing. Hell, most of Disneys movies are gonna flop because they keep pushing Marvel, which btw, they can’t pay their people good to get good graphics.
So lets do the math:
No marketing for animated movies + Bad CGI + badly made Marvel content =
A dose of poison to kill our interest in Disney’s media.
Time to break up Disney. ABC, ESPN, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox, Pixar. It all has to go. If there was ever a time for a Sherman Anti Trust Act 2.0 it's now.
Don't worry. It will be happening in the not too distant future and sooner than you think.
Dude is that an olive tree in the background? Now I need one.
In fairness, it's fake, but I still like it
@@gregowen2022oh no! Hey it does look really good though. I always wanted like a mini porch tree, but it’s so cold here most of the year.
The cost of going is a killer, up to $300 per day one park, 175 ticket, 30 parking 50 to 100 food etc..
Reject streaming. Return to DVD. Collect your favorites. Reject your flunks. One-time payment. Works for any side of the political spectrum.
Let ‘em die let ‘em die. Let ‘em shrivel up and die

I actually expected mice to have a longer lifespan.
They still have the resources to turn around, but they have to put down the shovel first, and they instead look to be bringing in a backhoe
greg owens being a ravenclaw makes so much sense
I hope in a good way. In any case, I'm going to go do a crossword
When I heard Bob Chapek had been terminated, I was SINGING LIKE A CANARY!
He needed to go so badly. I can't say that EVERYTHING was his fault, so I'm not excited about Iger coming back, but putting down the Chapek shovel was a good first step to getting out of the hole
And i'm definitely not sorry for that, not even a bit.
Love the video
Thank you so much for watching!
In canada disney plus is like 12 bucks. But it comes with star and national geo
I can't remember the exact breakdown, but America is the only place where they are making money. Overall, it's hemorrhaging cash.
Funny how paying $17 for a burger can make you care how good it is. Suddenly McDonalds isn’t so bad.
Hope the company dies. Wokesters gotta learn.
It won't.
I still like the history of the company, so I want to see a redemption arc in this story. It's a big company, so they have the resources to do it, but the longer they wait, the harder it will be
It’s only gotten worse.
Now there having a war agianst each other and Ron is starting to slowly creep up on them.
Yeah, Chapek picked a fight with Ron and the company is going to continue feeling it for a long time
@@gregowen2022 At this point it feels like there gonna be gone in the next 2 years or less.
I doubt that Avatar magic is gonna work any longer after being the same thing twice.
I believe Disney is actually already dead and now it’s just a Zombie.
It's possible, these big companies can shamble on for a while.
Call me a romantic, but I'm still optimistic for a redemption story
Child trafficking, child grooming and dead people's ashes. They spread (blew) my dad's ashes from a roller coaster and he was a VERY evil man who hated children but loved disney world...
He's haunting the place
Chapek was only CEO for two years, and Disney's problems have been growing for longer than that
They still don't have trams!!?
Even I could likely run Disney better
Disney dying ??? Best news I've had all day.
Please don’t save Disney I beg of you
I must! But the older Disney. I want to resurrect the company that made Hercules and The Emperors New Groove
Your adorable and spot on with your commentary..
And yes the food is absolutely horrendous
That's so sad to hear. I haven't been there in about six years, but I recall even their basic items like chicken strips and burgers being excellent by theme park standards. What a shame
I think that the only way for disney to get back on track it to make the gayest, most over the top iconic villan like in the old days
They can fix everything if they simply unthaw Walt
Get woke, get broke
Tesla?
@@drookard1525 don't think you know what woke means
Go back to school, MAGAt
Disney gave away a ton of subscriptions too with other stuff
True, now they are expiring and it explains the subscriber drop recently. It wasn't good enough to hook people into staying
if the subscriber count is misleading you cant rely on it.
I think that's what spooked investors so badly
I'd love it if Disney went bankrupt!
