- On tis metal detecting adventure me and my friends Lance and Herb explore a new permission that is rumored to have a colonial era homesite, Civil War camps and a CAVE! This is the first trip to the old farm and each trip gets better.

People hid money and valuables in mason jars, usually by the kitchen window, don't discard a simple mason jar.
Please moar cave video's, they are my favorite, and they are few and far between. I like the detecting, but the caves are so cool, and each one is unique. Thanks for all the work you put into these video's, God bless you and yours Chigg.

At 2:55, it looks like an arrowhead, or blade of some kind lying in the dirt. The black object, just about center screen. Man, that was a nice quartz point!!! Beautiful, bright white!!! I love it!

Chig the oyster shells are common in coastal Native American camps too. And the blue Heinz Catsup bottle used to have Sheep Dip in it. ☺

Hi Chig,
Try taking an x-ray of that coin. The coins details should be visible in the x-ray. This is because the parts of the coin that were compressed more during its coining will be denser and therefore more opaque to x-ray.
BTW, this was a technique used by the Detroit police department to identify guns that had their serial numbers ground off.

The cornfield holes may be broken tile holes. They show up around here. Clay drainage tile put in many years ago.

This was a nice adventure Chigg. I hope this is part one of a series. That cave could sure use a digging out and also checking the cornfield for more Indian artifacts and Civil War stuff would be good. The crumbled up zinc bits sure looked like the cremains of an old washboard. Nice coin find, I hope you find out exactly what it is. Nice pasture, nice cows, nice weather, nice finds. i wonder if all those pieces of metal you found with the wood could be an old water barrel with metal straps wrapping around the barrel.
I believe the metal wire with those pieces of metal is the handle from a bucket. Originally, it would have been more curved so that the fittings at the ends would have attached it to the side of the bucked.

Most the Points are Dart points from a atlatl pre bow and arrow basically a stick that uses leverage to throw a long dart with more power.
from watching an archialogiy doc series i know of called time team if you have brick work and pottery in the same rough area there should be a home site in the area you are in depends on how often the owners plow the field. also if there are broken off parts of plow that should get you closer to the home site area.

The item you found that you said was some type of horse tack is correct it goes on the center of the saddle of a harness it's called water hook it's where they connected to check rein.

The blue bottles were cool. But I had to quit watching the farther you skinnied into the cave, the more claustrophobic I got! It’s the weirdest thing to freak out watching a video! I’m not the one in the cave! Yet my mind is in freak out mode. Maybe I can fast forward through it!

Don't know where you are but if you ever get down to Northwest Florida and get permission to go on the base (tyndall) I found an old deserted civil war era cemetery on a road off the main base housing road, sadly I cant as I left in 1999 to come back to England, love your videos 👌

The old rock was mostly cane from farmers picking them out of their fields. It’s old for sure
A lot of cobalt bottles in that hole. Couldn't eyeball much but seemed to be a mix of screwtops and corkers from the 20s-30s. .
PS - Did you ever get a positive ID or date on the coin?

I was wondering how the oyster shells got in places away from the oceans.
I find them in Missouri they seemed to stay popular into the late 1800s seen a couple old newspaper adds for them in small town Missouri 1880s papers.
