I’m in the exact same position. Want to do my own system but it’s been 30 years since I’ve been involved in the stock so much has changed my heads about to explode.
I just bought a 5 channel amp for my son's truck. Upgrading his sound system for Christmas. It's a 2009 suburban and I'm replacing the door speakers, front pillar tweeters, factory radio, and adding two 10" Subs with this amp. So I'll be wiring the door speakers to this amp as well as the subs. Never done that before, but the salesman told me it would definately improved sound quality and volume rather than connecting them to the radio only. I guess I'll found out. First sound system I've installed in over 25 years. I've been kind of giddy like a teenager lately when trying to plan it.
Back in the 90's I used audio control crossover for all my installs. I always made friends envious because they would run same amplifiers but couldn't get my sound quality. They couldn't figure out why because it was installed under passenger seat and didn't know it was controlling my amplifiers. Lol
Am from trinidad n watching your vidoes save me money 😊 and it makes me confident in myself to install car music for the first time I will ..comment again after my success
A solid choice for an all in one amp. I recently upgraded my car and tried using my previous amp but found out quickly that the start/stop feature on many new cars plays havoc with older amps.
My uncle and I have been hanging out and bonding over car audio lately. We are both sort of new to the real technical aspects of tuning the equipment and vehicle for getting the most out of a amp and speakers/sub. Thank you for all of the awesome lessons and information that you put out there and thank you to the guys over on patreon that let guys like me see it for free! This amp got my uncle and I super hype about our next build together and we can’t wait to get our hands on one. Best wishes to you and your family man hope y’all are safe. (PS super super jealous of you dads set up seeing that come together was a real treat!)
@@CarAudioFabrication hey a have a question about the high output.. im a lil confused about what it does.. are the factory speakers getting the power from the amp??? Or just getting the same power from the factory?????
@@CarAudioFabrication me and my friend have Honda Accords and we are experiencing some weird stuff with this amp. We are using Inputs 1&2 only and summing. We are pulling off the front door outputs which is full range. If switched to separate obviously you loose output on 3&4 since you're not summing but the 1&2 outputs get twice as loud with much more bass. When summing it's not loud at all and the sound lacks that full warm sound. I'm surprised nobody is talking about it. Your thoughts?
Audio Control made the best EQ for car audio back in the day. Their offerings now are even better than back then. Lots of flexibility means you really need to pay attention to what you are doing. Glad we have Mark to guide us. Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
this channel has the best video for car audio related stuff, video quality top notch, what I hate is no price mention in the video for any item shown specially audio control stuff, we all know the most important thing is money.
Prices change too much. I'm not going to make a video immediately obsolete. People might watch this in a year and the price may be different. Pretty simple to understand and common for videos.
I too, have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this 5 channel amp, ever since you mentioned it in one of your former vids from last summer. Thanks for that, and for this!
To those saying this is expensive; not really. You'd have to run an amp for mids/highs + another separate amp for the subs, plus your LOC, even a cheaper LC2i would still run you over $600, assuming you're using quality amps with true advertised RMS output. This is an extra $50-100 to have it all in one package. Cleaner, and easier to install. This is a nice ass amp. Wish I knew about this sooner. But Audio control makes great products
I currently am running a separate 8 band eq. I am going to purchase a dsp. My question is "am I benefiting any if I use my eq and the dsp or can I take out the eq all together and use the dsp. I have seen videos on how to wire an eq to a dsp but seems kind of pointless if dsp has a 30 band eq on it. BTW love the channel and all the great info and tips you give. Thank Yuo for taking the time covering everything in such detail.
I have a Pioneer 5 Channel amplifier for past 2 years. Paid only $260 at the time! Had no issue. Running 4-channel 600RMS and one 12 inch sub rated at 500 RMS. I never ran on the maximum. Because I never set gains on the maximum what it can output. But when i crank my sub knob on max all my windows vibrating

What speakers and subs do you recommend to use with this Amp I have a 2019 f350 crew cab with the basic 4' but I'm upgrading to the Linkswell gen IV thank you nice channel.
Mark, Installing the AudioControl LC-5.1300 in my aluminum F-150. Best ground option? Also, it has the B&O Play center channel dash speaker. Do you have a video on how to incorporate this into an amplified system? TIA!
Ever since I bought my first audio control product back in the 80s, the epicenter, I’ve loved their products. Does the remote level control allude to the epicenter where the amp acts as a filter to remove flutter in the sub so they aren’t dancing around with no human audible sound?
Hi, I'm looking to buy this amp/dsp but not sure which one to get. I have 3-way components in the front, and coaxial in the rear, and a powered subwoofer that I'm planning to replace in the near future. It seems like I have 9 channels in my car. Should I get the LC.6-1200 or LC.5-1300? Thank you very much for the information!
AudioControl does make nice stuff: I’m wanting to get their 10channel DSP. Back in the day I ran 3 Alpine V12’s (all class AB) I got them in 96. When I learned more about audio I deleted my rear channels and used one V12 for the Left, one for the right and the other one which was maybe 250 watts RMS bridged for my subs. This amp just reminded me of them bc for the time period those amps had most of the features this one does minus GTO, 5th channel and honestly can’t remember if they had high inputs or not. I always ran RCA’s. I just thought it was cool at the time that I could switch them to mono channel and keep Balance and not have to use fade for balance. Are you still making the “in depth” DSP video? If so, looking forward to seeing it.
Trying to help my son put in a 12" sub that he bought and keep the standard head unit that came with his car. This looks awesome for that..... except for the $900 price tag. Got anything that will work for a LOT less money? ;-)
If you turn down the gain, will the amplifier require less amps from the battery? I drive a hybrid and it has a small accessory battery since the electric motor turns over the engine. 120amps would fry the battery, but this amp would suit my needs perfectly with less power draw.
This amp can run speakers at 2 ohm full load (what the fuses on it are rated for). If you ran your speakers at 4 ohm (which is the most likely case anyhow) it's unlikely to be drawing the full 120 amps. Gain control can technically be turned down to limit power after it's been set correctly.
Hey brother! Great job. Any idea when the DSP version is coming out? Also my new deck doesn’t play CD’s any idea how and where I can find those test tones you were using? Please and thank you
I use an app called “Signal Generator”. It allows you to choose between 4 or 5 bands of frequencies choosing any frequency you like at 0db default, but with options of decreasing dB by up to at least 20. I have Car Play so if my phone is plugged in via USB it’ll play like that or you can use aux or Bluetooth if it came down to it.
Do you need to use the crossovers that come with component speakers like the Focal ES 165K2 when using this amp or are the crossover capabilities duplicated by the DSP on this amp?
Not sure that I’ll hear anything because this is an old post but I installed an LC 5.1300 in my vehicle the other day it’s a great amp. I took the OEM speakers out. Replaced them with new speakers. I’m still using the factory harness and I have a pack camp pro is the output line converter, my question is when I went to the gains the amplifier allowed me to turn it all the way up without having the light come on any channel. Does this mean that I need a load resistor?
Nice video mate, quick question..How would you wire up factory components seeing as you only have 2 channels for the front? There's 8 wires needed for the front, and only 4 available for output. Thoughts??
I just purchased a beautifull 2004 cadillac cts with a bose system and a stock head unit. Would you recommend this to add more sound to my system? I do have an 8in stock "sub".
This amp is missing a Toslink Fiber Optic input, but I can see where this can be a good option especially with what I assume is a Bluetooth add-on feature if you don't have it already on your headunit.
Marc, are u a audio control dealer? If so, i need a matrix line driver and a LC2 i think is what its called. Can i get better deals from u verses using ebay for instance. Also, could u read my question i clarified and reasked please. Thanks man, love ur ch btw, out of anyone in car audio, u make the most sense.
When using the sum feature, are you distributing the power out put from the one channel to the others or are they combining the full power output to the channels?
I have 2 3-way component speakers (Audison APK 163) for the front and back. I also have a Audison APBX 10 AS2 Prima Subwoofer. What is the best amplifier for this set-up of 12 total speakers and a subwoofer?
Hey dude I've been warching your channel for quite some time but never commented. I've searched for Audio Control in Europe but haven't really found anything.. I have a toyota starlet which had awful speakers and replaced them with a complete audio system full alpine 2 amps sub and component speakers and it sounds almost perfect, I'm searching for a DSP to finish out my build and I will be using noico to insulate sound 2mm and 4mm in the summer. Thank you for everything, through your channel I put together my sound system, matched watts RMS and even put a fuse box apart from the fuse close to the battery! Keep it up (and if you know any good DSPs that are sold in Europe please help!) Sorry for the long comment! (Alpine spr-50c, Swe-1044BR)
Kinda wish I watched this before I did an old school splurge on amazon 🤣 welp, I'm gonna be pushing 4500 watt rms to a 5000 watt rms 15" orion. I think realistically 300 watt rms would have been fine for me and I'd be $3000 richer. $1000 of which went into pure copper alone 😔 whereas this Audio Control eliminates so much wiring redundancy
What speakers and how many ohms match well with a factory stock unit? My factory head unit has all that I need including bluetooth, usb, and steering wheel controls, I just need to replace the stock speakers. I also have a powered sub.
So if I have a amp do I need sub woofers ? All the wiring is installed in my car already and could I just hook up the amp myself if the wiring is there?
I would be game, but add a DSP into the unit, like what JL Audio did with the VXi series and I would be all over it. But by itself, this unit is impressive.
@@CarAudioFabrication Whoa. I'll have to watch that vid when you get it. I'm currently running a Twk-88 (running the toslink cable) and a RD900/5. It sounds great, but like you said, it takes up a bit of real estate. Thanks for the heads up!
I never got a green light. What does that mean? Plugged in my 3/4 channel (100w RMS 2way kicker 6X9s) and slowly upped the volume and had no issues. Can’t go all the way up as my ears start bleeding at 25/35.
So if I were to use a 4 channel amp at 45W RMS per channel, use two channels to run one 50W RMS speakers a piece and bridge two channels to run one 120W sub, it would sound okay? I have a 2 seater that only has 2 front speakers and a small sub from factory and I'm trying to keep this configuration for ease of installation.
Does this work if you are using factory radio with factory amp or do I need an LOC ? I was wanting to just use my front morel components active 4 channels(2 tweeters , 2 6.5 and subwoofer )

Now just have to wait for this to show up in their employee accommodations list. 😅
Hi :)
That’s a bad ass amp
So do u connect ur speakers to ur amp not ur radio, and the only wires u hook up to ur radio are the remote turn on and the rc cables?
QUESTION:Am running a 150.4 ab skar audio amp with a 500.1d skar audio amp
What battery can power this really good with no issues??
good channel about car audio
When connecting component speakers you would just use the component box and connect it like you would a non component speaker to the amp?
Can you do a Video on A Corvette C7 Update with new Amp And Speakers!
i need that amp that thing is sick
What speakers and how many ohms match well with a factory stock unit? My factory head unit has all that I need including bluetooth, usb, and steering wheel controls, I just need to replace the stock speakers. I also have a powered sub.
Im working on a budget.. lookin for an amp to power 4 door speakers and a dual 8” sub that isnt crazy priced.
Good Evening , can you make a video on 2 amps and a processor for motorcycle. 6.5 and horns upfront. 4 6x9 in bags. Thanks
Can you make a video on how to adjust the settings on an epicenter?
So if I have a amp do I need sub woofers ? All the wiring is installed in my car already and could I just hook up the amp myself if the wiring is there?
What are some good speakers for this amp?
I would be game, but add a DSP into the unit, like what JL Audio did with the VXi series and I would be all over it. But by itself, this unit is impressive.
The D version is due within a month! DSP built in!
Is the audio quality of the audio control lc-5.1300 the same quality as JL audio XDv2 700/5
Does this work if you are using factory radio with factory amp or do I need an LOC ? I was wanting to just use my front morel components active 4 channels(2 tweeters , 2 6.5 and subwoofer )
