Definitely a camera for those who love the lo-fi look especially the epic flare and grain, but i was surprised just how punchy the colours came out especially the vivid blue skies, kodak gold and a sunny day are a great combination for this camera, the railway photos were really impressive as well.
I was pretty happy with the saturation and contrast
This makes me want to pull out my old vintage box camera. You never know how the pictures are going to turn out, but you can get some really beautiful nostalgic shots from it. Such a different experience than shooting digital or even with a film SLR where you're looking through the lens so you have a decent idea of how it's doing to look.
5.30 is a work of art! Shows what great things are possible if you know what you are doing.👏
Thanks Mike!
Your images here came out amazing! That camera looks super fun to play with 🎉 thanks again for a great video Dave!
Thanks Molly - It is super fun!
Loved that lens flare!
Oh jeez 😅!!! I can’t believe it!!! Those are actually beautiful!!!
“Character”! That’s it! They have a not to soft retro look!
Awesome review! just what i needed to buy this little camera!
Great - Thanks for watching!
Happy Easter 😃 - those felt more like pictures of my childhood
Happy Easter!
This was a very helpful video Dave. I've been looking at buying this camera as an easy way into film photography, and I think this video and images has sold me. Looking for something totally different from what I shoot currently to photograph a lot of these old buildings we have around here. I checked out the M35 video as well, but I think I like the look of the images from this camera much better. Thanks again Dave, hope you are doing well!
Thanks Paul - I really enjoyed shooting this camera and it is definitely an easy way to get into film photography. The biggest thing to keep in mind is knowing that you will get more in your final image than what appears in your viewfinder. Also, 400 speed film is good for this camera in overcast conditions, 200 if it’s sunnier, 100 ISO for bright sun. Other than that, just point and shoot.
Amazing photos!
Thanks Phillip!
Nice. Love those punchy colors!
Yes, I really liked these colors too!
Excellent work
Thanks Chris
I love this camera and I love how the images come out. When I did some printing it didn’t look bad either, it’s one of my favorite point and shoot. I also have 8 plastic point and shoots 😂
Nice - I’ve never tried printing images from the i60
@@theoldcameraguy it’s great! The images come out exactly how I want them. But I also love the colors of the shots you took for the sample shots
Great results!
Thanks Mark!
The photos with this cheap camera look amazing. I have the Kodak h35n but want a full frame one to try. Im going to pick up this one. Thanks for the video!!
Thanks for watching!
Great photos from that little camera! My favorite is at 4:37.
Thanks Cynthia! I really enjoyed shooting this camera.
Thank you very much uncle for this informative video, it is very useful and helpful for me, who is still very unfamiliar with things like this😊
Thanks for watching
Great Ohio photos! And that all-plastic camera really has decent focus even fairly close. Vintage plastic point & shoot cameras really had far inferior lenses -- most of these modern builds are so much better. Thanks Dave!
Given its all plastic build, I was pretty happy with the performance of this camera.
Thanks for doing a great video. I ordered one yesterday here in Canada and it cost me $90.00! It's my first film camera and I am looking forward to using it. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great - Have fun with your new camera!
Superb!
Thanks Andrew!
Nice set of images Dave. I'm interested to know how you think it compares with the likes of the M35 and the AGFAphoto reusable 35mm etc.
The specs and results are all about the same. I love the design of this one. Its build quality is sturdier than the M35 and M38 - it’s about the same build quality as the Agfa, but I dig the popup flash on the i60.
I think loading this camera isn't easy. It is one of the most difficult examples.
Not a bad camera, Dave! It really looks like the original Instamatic 100 with the pop-up flash. Did you try the flash on your test camera, like for fill-in purposes? It’s good to see one of these cameras use 200 film. Nice video! Thanks for the review!
I did use flash fill on some of these - worked pretty well
These came out pretty decent. Pretty sharp for a point and shoot compared to say a Holga or a Diana.
Yeah, really not bad for an all plastic camera.
Wow!
Where did you go to find f10 light in the winter?
I was lucky enough to find a couple of bright days
Hello, thank you very much for your videos, they are very good. I have a question, which do you recommend, the Kodak Ektar H35n or the i60?
I prefer the i60, which is traditional full frame 35mm. The H35N is half frame, so it squeezes 2 images in the same space as a regular 35mm frame, so the resolution is lower. Some people like half frame because you get more pictures on a roll of film.
What are the difference between all these identical cameras - M35, M38, this one, and others?
Honestly, the difference is styling/design. Since the specs are about the same on all these cameras, your images will be the same quality as well.
When I wind the film back, does it make the same sound as when I advance the film?
No, it is quieter when you rewind.
@@theoldcameraguy ooops LOL. After I advanced the film, I tried to take another picture but I was unable. I figured the roll was finished so, I rewound the film. I'm not sure what happened there.
I have a new roll in now. Note to self: Do not try to put the roll in upside down. LOL. I enjoy your videos, well spoken and no cursing. You cant beat that! Have a good day.
Your reviews are amazing, but I'm really curious, how do you have a great young facial skin?
Thanks - good lighting makes everybody look better
It's not worth buying these camera models these days. It's much better to buy the ones that were produced in the 1990s and early 2000s. They are much superior and cheaper.
Even if there are. It’s still good to support the industry and have fun with what they’re making. These are fun and easy to mess around with and that’s the point.
I disagree, although superior, the market price for good quality film cameras have been heavily inflated since 2020 - making them far more unattainable for the average buyer. It sucks
