    Bridget is Goddess AND Saint. She was a Goddess First. I use the world "Saint' AND "Goddess" in this song. She is Both. She is Both so much so that "People of all Path's will gather round to sing her name." My prayer is that we may embrace this and come together rather than use our beliefs to create fear and separation. This is not a Pagan Song. This is not a Christian Song. It is a Bridget Song. And what she represents is a healing I pray we may all be open to be blessed by. Celia

      I can understand the sentiments but you did put in the lyrics mention of Imbolc, which is, strictly speaking, a Pagan holiday. Christians do not celebrate Imbolc. They celebrate Easter, and godess forbid if you try to associate one with the other.
      Love the song either way.

      @@Astralaeyna Imbolc is the same day as Saint Brigid's Day...Why? Because Christians/Catholics stole the holidays. They did to both honor the old to help bring the old to the new. But some of us stay true to old roots. I am a pagan and I was Catholic. I can see the difference. Feel it too. Imbolc and Saint Brigid's Day are the same bloody day... Today it is best to embrace humans for we are just that human and love life and be kind. No bad intent just love and light.

    As a Multi-faith minister myself,I feel this is an opportune moment to pose a question to all of you, regardless of denomination,religious group or personal choice of deity.
    but do we really need to argue over who she belongs to?Did Christ himself sit at the table on the night of the last supper and refuse to share his food with those around him? nope, he shared like a good boy.so how's about we share Bridget nicely and respectfully, with love?
    God and Goddess bless you all!

    I must admit reading some of these comments are a bit confusing. The one guy say's he is part native. Native what? The Christians have borrowed things from our faith. As the Romans and every other faith has done from the start. The romans adopted gods and goddesses on a regular basis. For the same reason the Christians did, to help convert followers. That just shows all paths lead to the same place. It's a form of flattery. thank you for reading and ... Blessed Be.

    So, I understand people's anger when Christians do this. I am part Native, so I hate it double. But, I do believe we should find a civil way to approach it. Do it intelligently, and give more respect than what you give. Do I always do that? No. I get mad at people who decide to make my beliefs seem like less than theirs. I know it isn't all Christians. I have some friends that are wonderfully good Christians, and live like Christ was said to have lived. And, I love them for it.

    Christianity has one God, but the many branches of Paganism do not. We have Gods & Goddesses.Before St. Brigit was ever canonized as a Saint in Christianity, she was worshiped by the Pagans as a Goddess in the Celtic Regions.In fact, it was due to this profound love of the Goddess Brigid, and the fact that those who converted to Christianity refused to give up their worship of her, that Christianity adopted her.This is a Pagan song to Bridget and her many faces, and to her holy day we celebrate.

    The whole point is that this song is NOT about a Christian icon.Your question, "Where in the Bible does it say that there is such thing as a goddess?" is irrelevant. We don't get our ideas about how divinity works from your holy book. "How can you say this woman has the power to 'melt the snow and bring the spring?'" Well, I guess for the same reasons you can say this "man type deity" of yours can bring down rains of frogs or floods or whatever...different myths for different religions.

    Natalie, our stories are as important to us as yours, which by the way, came from our pagan stories. We do not follow the Bible,.many of us aren't anti-bible or even anti-Christian, we just hold different things true.

    Bible verses are all man made. All. Man even decided which books were inspired. It's ok though. If this is what fills your spirit, who am I to say it's wrong? It is right for you, is all that matters.

  • @CaptainZeroCaine
    @CaptainZeroCaine 11 лет назад

    Story if jesus? Story of Osiris. Hell? Hel. Easter? Oestara.Christmas? King's feast or yule. Just like every story in the bible, there was another just like it that came before it. So, Natalie, that is why we don't put stock in your book of mythology. We study and practice the old religions.You trying to make this yours, like your people have always done, is sad and intolerant.

  • @beck3991

    this isn't christian. Christianity is CHRIST centered, not mary centered or 'saint brigette' whoever she is. Are you not praying to the Holy Trinity as you sign the cross over your hearts? Why then do you claim that Brigette is a goddess? Where in the Bible does it say that there is such thing as a goddess? How can you say this woman has the power to 'melt the snow and bring the spring?'
