He is. The original interview the interviewer is basically just talking shit about the movie to this guy but he keeps giving good answers and come backs so the interviewer gets mad and walks off his own interview
I love how in the original interview he tries to say that because there were maps in the front of the LOTR books you can relate to the geography, but that you can't in the Warcraft film. Y'know, because nobody in videogames uses a map whatsoever haha
same. as a fan of the franchise, I walked out satisfied. but as a guy who also edits, I had complaints about a few scene transitions when they were travelling places
I have tremendous respect for Duncan Jones for making one of the best sci-fi movies in recent memory with Moon but even he can't do the near-impossible task of making a good movie out of freakin' Warcraft of all things.
Why did Cr1t just post the original interview here? Other than the fact that the interviewer's voice is much more luscious and sensual than the original, I sense no differences.
+tbeau96 Too lazy to type these days apparently, like they freak out when there isn't a link. WHERE'S THE LINK?! QUICK SOMEONE CALL 911!! THERE ISN'T A LINK!!
Was it great? No. Good? Ya. I have never played Warcraft and had no interest in seeing it, but some friends really wanted to go so I did and it was a surprisingly good time. There's nothing actually bad about it, there's just nothing exceptionally memorable about it either.
Yes, this is exactly what I felt was the case, thanks for your insight! I saw the movie and never played the game too, after the movie I played the game too. It was a fun action adventure, not good or bad. Essentially a perfect 7.5/10 (8 if the next film does well [if they make one])
I enjoyed the movie, but still, in what kind of topsy turvy world is an average, not good not bad movie, a 7.5/10? This is the problem with scores nowadays, people think they go only from 5 to 10.
I had quite mixed feelings about it. I went in wanting to like it but being cautious because I knew it had caught a lot of flak from critics, then the 100% fan service opening set the tone immediately. Watching the movie I found it enjoyable even though I saw occasionally dodgy camera work and dialog, the story was as cliché as I knew it was going to be and the pacing probably suffered from those 40 minutes cut out. The main thing I was kind of getting hung up on were the deviations from the previously established lore, which is obviously unimportant. In the end I was actually looking forward to a sequel which I rarely do.
If you're a World of Warcraft fan you might think it's not bad but if you've never played Warcraft then you'll probably just think it's a shitty movie.
I went with my brother, I've never played it but he has, and honestly it was a really great movie! A bit of a learning curve at first, but the plot was interesting and the action was great, so I got into it quickly and had a really good time :)
Funny voiceover, but I still loved how obvious it is that Duncan is the only professional in the room. This interviewer thought he was going to just rip into Duncan with his overwhelming criticisms but instead got frustrated when Duncan Jones stayed cool the whole time with only a bemused smile on Duncan's face at the very end. Duncan Jones grew up in show business touring with his Dad. Duncan has seen it all - this interviewer was never going to rattle his cage. Sequels, Duncan! We want the Taurens!
The movie was better than i expected it to be. It was pretty alright. I don't understand how people can hate the movie, its not like it was super bad.... 7/10
I loved the movie, but I understand why people don't. for how ambitious the movie was, and considering it was blizzards first (even though legendary has experience) , I think the sequel will be MUCH better!
Honestly, it was mostly Paula Patton that wrecked the film. With an actual actress in her role instead it probably would have been around a B or so for me, but she by herself managed to drag it all the way down to a C- or D+ at best. If anything though, I'm impressed by her ability to single-handedly almost destroy a 160 million dollar film.
I came into the movie with very low expectations and I actually enjoyed it. I can see where people who aren't familiar with the games and the lore would hate it. I don't think it is that strong as a standalone with no prior knowledge of Warcraft. It isn't strong enough of a story to stand on its own like Harry Potter and Lord or the Rings. However, if you have played the games and know the lore it was pretty good. If they made a sequel I would go see it.
It probably would have been a lot better if Jones even more aggressively polished out the human-centred parts entirely since the orc-centred parts were the parts that came closest to actually working as a movie and obviously had more thought put into them, and the humans were all just boring exposition-machines with the most potboiler "wow evil is so intoxicating" dopey plot to go along with. (The last halfhour would still probably be a complete mess of plot-convenience, wild assumptions, and plot-holes, though)
Poor Duncan Jones, what a year. First his living legend dad dies, then he gets stuck with one of the worst reviewed films ever and a legion of blind plebs defending it.
I know this is a parody but "the script sounds like it was written by a four year old in their coloring book, while they were drowning and suffering from heat exhaustion" was an amazing level insult, I'm taking notes
He's mocking the interviewer because in the original the so called "critic" was basically shitting on the movie and being a dick all while Jones kept his cool.
I haven't seen Warcraft, but a friend who did see it told me there was one thing that really bothered him. In the lore, a male and female orc were supposed to be married, but in the movie the female orc was his daughter. How could you change that and expect fans to just accept it?
Can you specify the names otherwise people who don't know the names or characters as well will have trouble understanding. Also you're friend may be wrong so we can't be too sure.
He's most likely talking about Garona and Medivh. The movie has a scene that hints at Medivh being Garona's father but in the game lore they are romantically linked instead.
The married pair is a part of the lore blizzard has been trying to scrub away for years. Basically their son became absurdly powerful and blizzard has abandoned all mentions of it. Personally, the changes added more to what were bland characters in previous iterations.
kensley94 You are correct, the interview as a whole, is in fact the same, as the critics interview. It is the critics interview, and thus, the interview as a whole, is still the critics interview.
why do people complain so much about the movie in the comment? I went and saw it, it was enjoyable, despite not knowing anything about Warcraft, not a bad movie but not great either. For a prologue it was a good start, the writing is kinda eh in some parts but it's an OK movie nonetheless
I loved the movie. I've never seen a movie get so many positive reviews from moviegoers and so much hate from ignorant critics who gave way worse film a better rating.
In the actual interview the older guy (interviewer) was being a complete asshat just trying to insult Duncan Jones whilst Duncan was being super cool and taking the questions like a boss. I would recommend finding the actual interview and seeing how much of an fuckwit the interviewer was and how much of a nice dude Duncan is. Or maybe im totally wrong and he is just roasting Duncan (in that case sorry) - I haven't seen the movie just the interview
I think it's both, saw the movie it's horrible, deserves it's one star rating on rotten tomatoes no doubt. Then Again I don't play the warcraft games so...
Trying to defend the movie as being "For the fans"... Lord of the Rings didn't need to depend on fanboys. LotR was just a really good series of films. Keks to Critical on roasting babby Bowie
Lord of the Rings is also a lot better grounded whereas Warcraft hasn't ever had consistent lore. I feel with less CGI and sticking to the simpler plot from the books and games would have given us a better movie.
+Alter Nate This video is making fun of the interviewer who kept bashing Duncan Jones on how poorly written and made the movie was instead of asking real questions, so Cr1tikal is hammering that in by showing his questions were stupid and not actual journalism.
My dad worked on this movie and said it was probably the worst movie he has ever worked on, one actor had to repeat the scene 13 times because he could not say one simple line.
scenes are repeated 13 if not more times on pretty much any given tv or film set......... repeating the process that many times would only serve to get the perfect result. stop making up bull
That's not uncommon u imbecile, take The shinning for example where they had to repeat scenes over a hundred times to get the perfect result. Just shut up if u don't know jack shit.
Honestly there was so much to the warcraft movie they missed. but to be fair they couldnt get all of them i guess since there was so much already. Hope they do better next time
i dont get why that journalist was so upset in the interview the movie is great and the people behind it put a lot of effort in to making a great cinematic experience and it's people like him who are ruining the fun and enjoyment out of what i believe is a wonderful movie conversion of an otherwise complicated and almost tedious plot line
i found it a great movie an absolute astonishing movie i don't know why people hate the movie so much it was awesome, and to hear this person being horrible to the director of the movie just makes me want to break his nose.
I'm confused as to why people think this video is making fun of the director and not the journalist.
+tp29486 got a link?
+Josh Dixon
Just look up "Duncan Jones Interview" and there are a ton of news sites running a story on it.
+Bubba Fights got it, thanks
Josh, it's reuploaded but here it is watch?v=-0f9fpwGsyg
The interview was really aggressive and insulting.
I haven't seen the original interview but it's really, *really* clear that Critikal is mocking the journalist.
At first I thought he was taking the piss out of Jones, but the more I hear , the more it seems like he's taking the piss out of the interviewer.
That tweed vest though. It's like the torso equivalent of a trilby.
He is. The original interview the interviewer is basically just talking shit about the movie to this guy but he keeps giving good answers and come backs so the interviewer gets mad and walks off his own interview
the interviewer was a massive dick and spent the whole time bitching at Jones.
Clout Gang haha! autism jokes! So clever!
+Clout Gang Comedy is hard.
Real talk, Duncan Jones does not give a flying fuck.
He probably got his radness and confidence from his dad.
His dad Indiana?
+ThatShitCrayZ Indiana was the dogs' name
+ThatShitCrayZ Close, his dad was David Bowie.
The onions around here, I swear.
He looked pretty Rossered by the end of this interview, so IDK about that.
I love how in the original interview he tries to say that because there were maps in the front of the LOTR books you can relate to the geography, but that you can't in the Warcraft film. Y'know, because nobody in videogames uses a map whatsoever haha
I was confused at first, paused the video, watched the interview, scoffed, came back to this video, laughed because I understand.
My appreciation for Duncan skyrocketed after the original interview. Nobody puts a dent in that enthusiasm.
I think Warcraft is a pretty good movie.
I quite liked it too. :)
same. as a fan of the franchise, I walked out satisfied. but as a guy who also edits, I had complaints about a few scene transitions when they were travelling places
I would definitely like to see a sequel.
I liked it too! Can't wait for the sequel!
"satisfied" isn't a good review. "how was the burger" "I'm satisfied and no longer hungry."
here comes the people who can't take a joke
I'm pretty sure Critical didn't criticize the movie but the shitty interviewer, who did REALLY shitty interview with Duncan jones.
The movie isn't good, but it's not the worst movie ever.
Muslims? Coz those guys can take a joke.
it's no joke, this movie suck balls
+Sentinelord agreed
This movie really makes me not want to sexually assault anyone
This movie has equivalent effects to chemical castration?
oh ma gawd
sounds like you would like Steven Crowder.
Tell that to jess philips
Nah I would take that green lady to pound town any day.
The original video for anyone interested: ruclips.net/video/-0f9fpwGsyg/видео.html
Can you speak up?
I have tremendous respect for Duncan Jones for making one of the best sci-fi movies in recent memory with Moon but even he can't do the near-impossible task of making a good movie out of freakin' Warcraft of all things.
Why did Cr1t just post the original interview here? Other than the fact that the interviewer's voice is much more luscious and sensual than the original, I sense no differences.
This movie should of never even been thought of.
you should HAVE never been born. it's "should have". you fucking troglodyte.
should've = should have
should've =/= should of
IWTCI Greg Universe
this was a great movie
COMING OUT UP..WARCRAFT GARRISON THE MOVIE!
Critical, can you link to the original interview in the description, just so people can see how hilarious the original is as well
Indeed
ima need that link. fax me that link.
Just search "Duncan Jones Interview". It's among the first results, not that long.
The search bar on RUclips is pretty helpful, unless you need help with everything.
+tbeau96 Too lazy to type these days apparently, like they freak out when there isn't a link. WHERE'S THE LINK?! QUICK SOMEONE CALL 911!! THERE ISN'T A LINK!!
The director is just too good at fucking with people.
Duncan just kept his cool, answered politely and let Adam Rooster stab himself with, who was trying to create some controversy.
I'm definitely going to have to start using "cowabunga, fuckboi". That's just gold.
Do people actually think the movie is just terrible? I like it :(
Was it great? No. Good? Ya. I have never played Warcraft and had no interest in seeing it, but some friends really wanted to go so I did and it was a surprisingly good time. There's nothing actually bad about it, there's just nothing exceptionally memorable about it either.

As a stand-alone movie, it's okay to good. But as someone who has played Warcraft for almost 10 years, it was awesome.
I enjoyed the movie, but still, in what kind of topsy turvy world is an average, not good not bad movie, a 7.5/10? This is the problem with scores nowadays, people think they go only from 5 to 10.
Critics didn't like it. Audience did.
On the contrary, Finding Dory was the best fucking movie ever
Taking a guess here but does dory die?
+Ben Keeling Disney wouldn't do that
i mean their almost pixar
He's making fun of hte interviewer.
The movie sucke dick they didn't show the fish all it was just Cars, advertisements, sponsors and that's the entire fucking movie I want my money back
Do people not realize that Critcal is making fun of the video he's showing. He's not making fun of the movie...
.....no its the intrerview itself. Go watch the original.
He's making fun of the interviewer, watch the original.
+Epic_Paolo117 .... wow , use your eyes . he is making fun of the main interview. not the movie
hes not making fun of anybody haha, hes using his own words to trash the guy. not a parody more like a tip of the hat from crit.
hes making fun of this interview overall along with this shitmovie
i love how this fits perfectly with the actual interview :P
I loved the movie.
But we could be heroes, even if just for one day.
i thought the movie was super good
It was an ok movie.
It wasn't as bad as the pile of shit that was X-men apocalypse.
I had quite mixed feelings about it. I went in wanting to like it but being cautious because I knew it had caught a lot of flak from critics, then the 100% fan service opening set the tone immediately. I went with my brother, I've never played it but he has, and honestly it was a really great movie! A bit of a learning curve at first, but the plot was interesting and the action was great, so I got into it quickly and had a really good time :)
It was an average movie.
I don't think this video comments on the movie tho
+Antonio sometimes I can't tell if cr1tikal is serious or no lol
Pantsu-chan he's just being funny and exaggerating because that interviewer was weird
+Antonio curious of his actual opinion tho
+Pantsu-chan he's ripping on the guy doing the interview I believe.
If only all interviews were of this same stipulation
hoi
Funny voiceover, but I still loved how obvious it is that Duncan is the only professional in the room. This interviewer thought he was going to just rip into Duncan with his overwhelming criticisms but instead got frustrated when Duncan Jones stayed cool the whole time with only a bemused smile on Duncan's face at the very end. interviewer channelled his inner fedora well. literally reddit incarnate
I found Warcraft to be fine
This movie was like watching the season finale of a 24 episode long tv show that doesn't exist.
what is wrong with you all I saw Warcraft 10 times and I can't wait to watch it again once I buy some more crack
kek
For anyone wondering, no it's not that bad
I'm so glad I came to this channel late, binge watching Cr1tikal is the best thing since kitty litter
The original interview is called 'Adam Rosser interviews Duncan Jones' for anyone wondering
I've learned so many words from this man
The movie was better than i expected it to be. It was pretty alright. I don't understand how people can hate the movie, its not like it was super bad.... 7/10
"I didn't even see a dump truck in your movie." That's a rating system I can get behind, who needs numbers.
Love you dad
"this movie works for people who love warcraft and know it and those who don't"...
so basically this movie works for everyone in the world? amazing.
I loved the movie, but I understand why people don't.
for how ambitious the movie was, and considering it was blizzards first (even though legendary has experience) , I think the sequel will be MUCH better!
i'm not sure you try and convince people a movie is ok by saying "the sequal should be much better"
Honestly, it was mostly Paula Patton that wrecked the film. With an actual actress in her role instead it probably would have been around a B or so for me, but she by herself managed to drag it all the way down to a C- or D+ at best.
If anything though, I'm impressed by her ability to single-handedly almost destroy a 160 million dollar film.
yup she sucked. the orc characters were awesome !
Please more interviews like this!!! It was hilarious!
I haven't watch the movie, but I don't expect much really. I love Duncan Jones however. "Moon" will become a sci-fi classic for sure.
I diden't think the film was that bad, just bittersweet and quite joyless.
"I didn't even see any nunchucks."
That was also my main point of criticism. You have very distinguished tastes Cr1tikal.
Cr1tikal looks better than i expected.
I just can't get over the last line...
You are hilarious. Seriously
"Category-Gaming"I didn't see any gameplay, but this interview is fucking gold.Especially that rising joke at the end
I have never played a Warcraft game, so it's gonna be interesting if I ever decide to check it out.
Well, I imagine that's the closest as I'll ever get to seeing Cr1T doing Warcraft content.
I love these types of videos where you speak as the person!! ;)
Could have been worse, Uwe Boll wanted to make it.
Poor Duncan Jones, what a year. First his living legend dad dies, then he gets stuck with one of the worst reviewed films ever and a legion of blind plebs defending it.
I can't tell if he hates the movie or just making the interviewer
Thanks for posting!
Thanks for commenting!
I know this is a parody but "the script sounds like it was written by a four year old in their coloring book, while they were drowning and suffering from heat exhaustion" was an amazing level insult, I'm taking notes
I liked the movie. I thought it was very entertaining which is the most important feature of any movie/book/game :c
Hey, I liked this movie!
It wasn't that bad, but this guy actually had really good movies.
I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't opine on it, but I love this video!
I feel bad for Duncan Jones, his other movies are so great.
Why does the movie get so much hate?
I watched it, and it was pretty good.
He's mocking the interviewer because in the original the so called "critic" was basically shitting on the movie and being a dick all while Jones kept his cool.
Ryan Holcomb lol funny, and Duncan is hilarious...he has great humor
I haven't seen Warcraft, but a friend who did see it told me there was one thing that really bothered him. In the lore, a male and female orc were supposed to be married, but in the movie the female orc was his daughter. How could you change that and expect fans to just accept it?
Can you specify the names otherwise people who don't know the names or characters as well will have trouble understanding. Also you're friend may be wrong so we can't be too sure.
He's most likely talking about Garona and Medivh. The movie has a scene that hints at Medivh being Garona's father but in the game lore they are romantically linked instead.
Rattleshirt Most likely them.
+Webberjo the lore of the movie is different from the games. confirmed by blizzard.
The married pair is a part of the lore blizzard has been trying to scrub away for years. Basically their son became absurdly powerful and blizzard has abandoned all mentions of it. Personally, the changes added more to what were bland characters in previous iterations.
I'm gonna use "kowabunga fuckboy" when I say goodbye to my friends from now on
i dont get why people hate on the movie, its not greatness but its far from being terrible,. its a fun fantasy movie 7/10 easy
For those of you that don't understand. Critikal isn't replacing words to bash the movie. Critikal is parodying the critics horrible biased interview.
no he made fun of this interview as a whole (:
kensley94 You are correct, the interview as a whole, is in fact the same, as the critics interview. It is the critics interview, and thus, the interview as a whole, is still the critics interview.
Here comes the raging WarCraft fans who thinks this was Critikal's opinion
why do people complain so much about the movie in the comment? I went and saw it, it was enjoyable, despite not knowing anything about Warcraft, not a bad movie but not great either. For a prologue it was a good start, the writing is kinda eh in some parts but it's an OK movie nonetheless
I loved the movie. I've never seen a movie get so many positive reviews from moviegoers and so much hate from ignorant critics who gave way worse film a better rating.
How hard can it possibly be to make a good video game movie? I mean seriously, half of the work is already done for you.
Yeah, and since we've never really had a good one before, we don't know what the secret is.
+Jonathan Swindle I trust Kurtsle or Kurtzle to make AC good, fingers crossed
+Caramel Johnson AAA devs seem to not agree with you there. "Cinematic" is one of their favorite marketing buzzwords.
+Caramel Johnson
I disagree. Video games that are more like movies are constantly being made.
Soooo....I'm taking it you didn't like the movie, critical?
He's roasting the interviewer trying to get a rise out ofhte actor
*director
In the actual interview the older guy (interviewer) was being a complete asshat just trying to insult Duncan Jones whilst Duncan was being super cool and taking the questions like a boss. I would recommend finding the actual interview and seeing how much of an fuckwit the interviewer was and how much of a nice dude Duncan is.
Or maybe im totally wrong and he is just roasting Duncan (in that case sorry) - I haven't seen the movie just the interview
I think it's both, saw the movie it's horrible, deserves it's one star rating on rotten tomatoes no doubt. Then Again I don't play the warcraft games so...
andgalactus1 Yeah good point, its probs a bit of both. Who knows what goes on in Crit's mind haha
This guy is a genius I swear!
One of my new favorite quotes. "You've been Rossered bitch. Cowabunga fuckboy."
I love how a lot of people who watched this didn't quite catch he was making fun of Rosser
Trying to defend the movie as being "For the fans"... Lord of the Rings didn't need to depend on fanboys. LotR was just a really good series of films. Keks to Critical on roasting babby Bowie
The Hobbit on the other hand... tried to distance itself so much from the fans an elf ended up fucking a dwarf.
Unpopular opinion, but I didn't like LotR movies, and I actually enjoyed Warcraft without playing the games.
Critical is roasting the interviewer, not the actor.
Lord of the Rings is also a lot better grounded whereas Warcraft hasn't ever had consistent lore. I feel with less CGI and sticking to the simpler plot from the books and games would have given us a better movie.
Critikal was roasting the interviewer dude.
I actually liked the movie
Differing opinions aren't allowed on the internet!
well said!
Make more overwatch videosss
+Mark1nc DANCE WATER DANCE
+Star Flatinum i fucking hate this boss fight
+Star Flatinum DANCE MAGIC DANCE
Make more videos with Gameplay and Commentary in their titlessss
I want to see the original interview.
EDIT: I found it
*Did Critikal actually hate the movie though?*
Hope not :'(
how do you know?
+Alter Nate
This video is making fun of the interviewer who kept bashing Duncan Jones on how poorly written and made the movie was instead of asking real questions, so Cr1tikal is hammering that in by showing his questions were stupid and not actual journalism.
How are people this good at completely missing the point of the video?
Tinker *I didn't misunderstand it. I made this comment as a joke.*
As a WoW player I think the movie was targeted at people who play the game so they can appreciate it more, but even then it was far from perfect
I love The Outsiders!
My dad worked on this movie and said it was probably the worst movie he has ever worked on, one actor had to repeat the scene 13 times because he could not say one simple line.
Ok.
Your dad can praise heavens that he never worked with Kubrick then.
scenes are repeated 13 if not more times on pretty much any given tv or film set......... repeating the process that many times would only serve to get the perfect result. stop making up bull
That's not uncommon u imbecile, take The shinning for example where they had to repeat scenes over a hundred times to get the perfect result. Just shut up if u don't know jack shit.
some directors redo scenes that many times even after the scene was done right xD
Guys... He made the interviewer like the new turtles movie... How can he be the good guy
Honestly there was so much to the warcraft movie they missed. but to be fair they couldnt get all of them i guess since there was so much already. Hope they do better next time
Lol I was about to say. Good thing I read the comments.
I kinda liked the movie... I only went because my dad is a huge fan of Warcraft.
bruh this was hilarious
that picture tho
I saw it last night too and i was honestly disappointed
for those who don't know, he's making fun of the interviewer who was originally trying his damn best to make Duncan Jones rip on his own movie.
Oldschool cr1tikal!
Cannot believe this guy is related to the late and great David Bowie.
Video game movies are never good. Learned that lesson years ago.
This is the greatest youtube comment of All Time
i dont get why that journalist was so upset in the interview the movie is great and the people behind it put a lot of effort in to making a great cinematic experience and it's people like him who are ruining the fun and enjoyment out of what i believe is a wonderful movie conversion of an otherwise complicated and almost tedious plot line
Pretty sure this is just the original interview, I for one can't tell a difference.
Tilt a whirl of warcraft
i found it a great movie an absolute astonishing movie i don't know why people hate the movie so much it was awesome, and to hear this person being horrible to the director of the movie just makes me want to break his nose.
Crt1tikal is so beautiful 😩 Why does the guy from the titanfall 2 single player trailer look like him? such a beautiful man!
I haven't seen the movie and I don't think I'd like it but Duncan Jones is a cool dude
