How refreshing, a celebrity off-spring who is so totally grounded, friendly and normal. Dad did a very, very good job raising Duncan.
We dont know that. He also rejected his mother & cut her off, I've heard no valid reason for it.
@@daisy7066 it's well documented. Do your research before embarrassing yourself on here.
@@daisy7066 the mother broke ties and never talked to her son after age 13
I agree. Duncan seems very articulate and intelligent like David.
You can tell that David Bowie was good man by the children he raised
Duncan laughs like his dad. I can't imagine the pain he must feel from losing him. It's hard enough for us commoners who never knew him. How wonderful it must have been to grow up raised b David Bowie!
His late father must have been very proud of the way he has grown up well done David Bowie for doing a great job as a father.
when Duncan says 'Fantastic' sounds just like his dad
Duncan is such a good human being. Just like his dad was.
Duncan's childhood seems like a diplomat's kid, stayed a while at so many places 😊 he's a lucky child ...
I loved this, Duncan seems so bright, super kind, and really funny..... maybe someday he’ll do more
Duncan - we want your autobiography!
brilliant; he's def got his dad's laugh and smile.....thanks for sharing
he looks like a cross between his mam and a young tony blair.....cannot see a trace of Bowie......Angie slept around though!!
mij orrison If you've ever seen a photo of Duncan much thinner, he has his Dad, David's face and head shape, ears, smile and calm disposition. He doesn't look much like his Mom at all.
True! His laugh sounds just like him
I remember the song "kooks" written by his dad for his birth❤
I love this! You can tell Zowie loves his Dad! I have respect for Angie too for not separating him from his Dad. She probably saved David's life!❤️💚
Duncan seems really smart and unpretentious! Would like to see the whole discussion!
It is wonderful to hear recollections of your childhood ! Keep talking Duncan!
mcguffeyboy please
He's got dad's smile . . . .l.o.v.e.l.y.
Duncan brought up by a genius of a dad
He turned out fabulously. David must’ve been a great father. Nice guy.
Bowie had a huge impact in the 70s but Robert Llewellyn seems to forget here that he had by far his biggest commercial success with Let's Dance in 1983. I am a couple of years older than Duncan Jones and I remember that Bowie went from being seen as avant-garde and a little weird to being number one across the world, played on mainstream radio and his concert tour cancelled the small venues it had booked and booked stadiums instead. Although Bowie was 36 at the time he was a teen heartthrob and 14-year-old girls in my school (I was also 14 to be clear) were swooning over him. Duncan would have been around 12 at that time and so would have seen his father suddenly become the biggest artist in the world after Jackson, pretty much and definitely the biggest British star at that time.
I'll love "Moon" by Duncan Jones and really expected him to become a huge director. Not that the isn't successful and Source Code is a great movie and did OK financially. I'm sure there's more to come.
Hopefully His dad made enough money that he can pursue whatever makes him happy , even a relationship with his sisters .
He seems like such a nice guy. His father did a wonderful job raising him.
He looks a lot like his Dad.
Oh wow....he really reminds me of his father in this. How strange to imagine millions of people idolizing your father....
He is sooooo much like his dad!
nothing like him
mij orrison Look at multiple videos and photos and then you'll see the resemblance.
More like Angie, same eyes. Seems like a nice man.
Mairi Millar I disagree
He's got his daddy's ears!
MiaSqueaky he looks like his dad esp when he was in his 20s
No. I think David kept his ears to himself
Of course he's a beautiful person.
He was raised be the STAR MAN !!!!
What a lovely dude. 👍
If I'm not mistaken, Duncan went to school at Wooster, a small, liberal arts college in Ohio. We pass it on our way from Columbus to Canton to visit family. I mention it because, while Wooster is a good school, it's not exactly the place you'd imagine David Bowie's kid would go. But after seeing this video, it kind of makes sense.
Wooster is a fine school. Watergate attorney John Dean went there, and several other prominent people. I regret going to somewhere else.
I worked for David Bowie in 1973….I was a barman at the Marquee; 18……loaned out to make tea and coffee…😂
What a beautiful soul
very nice this video ...
He looks like his father and Eric Clapton. How did that work? He seems like an absolutely lovely man. Good for him!
His mum must look like Eric clapton
@@ollyt6724 hahaha👍
MOON Is One Of My Favourite Movies.Starmans Never Die. 🧑🚀
Jeez...what a lovely fellow. Thanks for posting this! ❤☮🌎
OMG...had NO idea I've seen and liked two of his films (Moon & Source Code), and now want to watch two more (Warcraft and Mute). I learn something new every day whether I want to or not! ❤☮🌎
He looks a lot like David.
He's got his laugh too!
Yes, for sure !
I love how he's explaining, "My parents divorced when I was young." Oh really? I hadn't heard. Lmao.
Would love to hear of his time at Gordonston
Wandered here from researching a recording by David Bowie made for Duncan when he was 7. Interesting interview, also watch the longer full interview.
very nice. thanks for posting.
Awesome.....thanku
duncan such a likeable young man with a great personality ! bowie so influenceable on my generation and so relevant today !!
Love this!
Pleased you Enjoyed it I uploaded it as I felt it needed a wide audience Its short but offers a really nice good in sight into the DB we never saw much of duncan is a real credit to him
I honestly don't know much about Duncan, but the way he talks about his Dad is beautiful! and the stories bring a smile to my face. you're right he is a credit!
Didn’t realize he lived in Australia for a while
So this is Zowie Bowie ........................R.I.P.
I always loved David. It sounds like Duncan had a fantastic upbringing. But how did he get to the College of Wooster, a really great liberal arts college 50 miles south of Cleveland, Ohio? For a cat who lived in Japan, that's an odd choice - but a good one.
It’s a tragedy his parents didn’t stay together but Duncan still overcame that and is even more stable than both of his parents combined.
Yeah unusual, but very lucky. His Mum is a personality disordered piece of Hell... I can’t even look at her face online if she comes up by accident. I fully get why he went #nocontact took me 30 years to be able to do that with mine and this is why kids NEED Dad’s folks. This kid did not have an easy life.
But an imperfect, supportive Dad with a heart in the right place, makes all the difference no matter what he does for work, even i f he can’t work. More Dads should be allowed to take custody if the birth mother is a pathological leech.
When your Dad is shut out by the Mother and the legal system favours that, you have no basis for comparision when your Mother is unfit / abusive ... childhood is a hostage situation.
Love that his Dad was in a position to fight for him and win, appreciate that he’ll talk about it. Doesn’t need to say why, and any adult who wishes they could find their own Dad, knows exactly why.
My “psychotic birth canal” would go straight to jail now for what she did to me. But in 70’s England Dads werent allowed to have a say and a missing child in the company of a Mother wasn’t considered kidnapping.
She changed my name, so I never knew my lost Dad and Grandparents had been looking for me for decades, until it was too late. She only took me b/c my Dads family started asking why I was terrified all the time and kept refusing to go back home after weekends.
David Bowies work got me thru my child hood, but I respected him more as an adult for protecting his kid. Might be a drag having to be associated with ur Dad’s legacy all the time, but he’ll never have to know what shitstorms he could’ve avoided either. ✊
"my dad was in the music industry"
His father must be so proud of him. Moon was brilliant
Seems well balanced and intelligent .
Really love this!
I just can’t get my head around the fact that a major interview with David Bowie’s son is being conducted not only in a car but while they’re driving and manure maneuvering major traffic and as a viewer I’m rather distracted by it. It just seems mad
Wow! Duncan is broad shouldered and a bigger build generally than both David and his grandfather "John!"
He must have inherited this and his rounder, broader face from Angie!
Interesting that he wasn't into music when his Dad was Mr Bowie!
Thanks for posting oh-very-comprehensive-David-Bowie-fan!
sttgaegoaktd
He looked like his daddy.
he looks like Angie
I don't think he looks like either one, but he is a great guy.
His real name is Zowie Bowie lol
Kooks!
dont forget to render
How did he end up with such an English accent ?
Excellent ... I hope my YT Bowie covers make him smile from far far away.
What was David Bowie's sons name ?
Zowie
Nice interview until he took a pop at northerners. I think he is just ignorant I don't presume southerners are like the characters of Eastenders and Made in Essex.
Northerners are the ones with a chip on their shoulders.
